COSMETICS COUNTER December 31st 2010

Hey dear readers,
I decided to do a new kinda series on my blog, called COSMETICS COUNTER. I'm gonna do that every half a year, on June 30th and December 31th. I'm going to count all of my cosmetics and write them into a list. That way I can kinda see how many cosmectics I have, how much I bought in the past half a year and stuff like that. I'm not doing this to brag about how much I can afford, I just thought this was a cute idea when i found this on a random blog (I'm sorry, I forgot which one it was)
Do you think this is interesting? Or don't you want to see it again? Make sure to tell me!
Also, feel free to do the COSMETICS COUNTER on your blog as well! Just copy the categories and fill them in!

I want to wish all of you a Happy New Year! Thank you so much for spending this year, 2010, with me and making blogging so important to me! Hope you're enjoying this New Year's Eve :)
I'll see you in 2011!

Until then, xoxo, Misch

Review: Manhattan Soft Mat Lip Cream

Hi guys!
As you might know from this haul post in November, I got the Lip Cream from Manhattan and now I want to tell you what I think of it :)

Information:
- available at any drugstore where you can get Manhattan cosmetics
- costs something between 3 and 4.50 Euros, depending on where you get it (it's most inexpensive at Rossmann), for 6.5 ml
- available in 6 different colors, the one I got is in 56K
- the color looks like a brownish pink in the package, but it's a blue-ish bright pink on the lips
- promises to have a velvety-matte finish, to give a soft feeling to the lips and to be really pigmented

here you can tell how it enhances my little lip wrinkles
Positives:
+ pretty color
+ price
+ easy to get
+ lasts for hours and hours - I apply it at 7 a.m. and when I get home at noon it's still there, just a little faded
+ has a matte finish, which isn't usual for lipglosses
+ smells yummyly like vanilla
+ has a nice, light and almost not noticeable feeling on the lips

Negatives:
- when your lips are chapped, this one easily makes them look gross, because it enhances your little lip wrinkles
- the color isn't as natural as it looks in the bottle
(- you might not like the matte look)

Bottom Line: I like it a lot :) The color is nice, and there are more available, so I might get another one. And the wear is so good :)

I'm sorry that the pictures are that bad, but this post was pre-blogged, so I made the pictures with my old camera...:P

Do you own this one as well? Or a different color?
Until next time!
xoxo, Misch

Spotted + Haul: 2 Current LEs + NOTD

Hey everyone,
I just went to the drugstore and saw 2 of the latest LEs!
Let's start with my favorite one:
Catrice Urban Baroque
This Limited Edition is so so perfect! Neutral colors, but still very pretty, gorgeous! I love it!! The design is so so pretty, perfect for the theme!
Here are all of the products, on Pinkmelon.de
That's what I got:

- Illuminating powder in C01 Masquerade Ball: I think this is the most wanted product from this LE, and I'm so glad I got one! It contains a lot of colors such as light pink, mid-toned pink, peach and green, and all of them are shimmery! The colors are not big enough to pick them up separately, just swirrl them all together to get the perfect highlight color! It gives a nice glow to your skin and I love it! So pretty :)

click on the picture to read the desciption :)

- Ultimate Nail Lacquer in C01 Pearls & Chains
A very light cream color, very milky, has a light pink tint to it, and it's very very natural. It has teeny-tiny glitter particles in it, but they're almost not noticeable. I was so happy that there were some neutral shades in this LE, because they're not that easy to get at the drugstore! But unfortunately this one isn't opaque at all...
I applied it to my nails and had to do three coats before I even was able to tell the color!

It's extremely natural, very shiny and it does have the nice milky look it has in the bottle :) On the picture I'm wearing 5 coats...not so good! But now that I know that it won't get any opaque anymore, I can at least wear it on days when I don't want color... I like the texture, though, not too thin or too thick.
- Ultimate Nail Lacquer in C02 Rock Baroque:
Another really light color, super pretty, way more pink than number C01, and also a bit darker :) It's a little more opaque, but I haven't swatched it on my nails yet, but on the nail wheel it showed some color :) I know that it's always a problem with nudes that they're not really opaque, but I expected a little more...

here you can see the slight shimmer, just click on the picture :)
I also liked the other stuff that was in this LE, but I liked these ones the most :) I love the whole thing, especially the design, so gorgeous!

Essence Black & White

It just contains black and white colors, and I think it's a nice idea, but a bit boring...just black and white, not so much to experiment with...when you like some of the stuff, get something, but it's not so special ;) The white eyeshadow is supposed to be a dupe for the MAC eyeshadow in crystal avalanche, so if you like that, get the color ;) Something I was wondering about was why are there black & white lip pencils in that LE? Who wears these? Please tell me!
I was actually interested in the Holo topcoat, but I already saw swatches on the internet, and it didn't look that great...well, whatever. Something to pass on for me, I got nothing, but you might like something :)
Here are the products on Pinkmelon.de

Okay, guys, that were these LEs! Did you get anything? Are as excited about the Catrice Urban Baroque LE as I am?
Let me know!
xoxo, Misch

As promised, I am going to show you the looks I was wearing on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as on the second Christmas Day, December 26th :)

On Christmas Eve I did a light gold look with a little bit of copper in it and kept it pretty simple, because the actually eye-catcher was the very red lips I did :) For my cheeks I kept it natural but with a nice glow.

These are the products I used:

- Essence eyeliner pen in black as very thin eyeliner
- RdLY diamond mascara in black on upper and lower lashes
p2 lipliner 03 business lady
- p2 lipliner in 03 business lady (bright red) to fill in my complete lips, no lipstick used
- no name bright red lipgloss so get some shine on the lips
- MNY blush in 301 (a peachy pink gold color)
- RdL eyeshadow in 02 sun (a shimmery light champagne gold color) - as mentioned above - for highlight and glow

On Christmas Day I did a gold and green look with a glow on my cheeks again and a nude lip.

These are the products I used:
- RdL eyeshadow in 02 sun (a shimmery light champagne gold color) on the lid
- 120 palette mid-toned shimmery green in the crease
- 120 palette dark emerald shimmery green in the outer V area
- Catrice Nude Sensation Collection eyeshadow in C01 Nude Cream (skin tone shade) to blend out and highlight inner corner and brow bone
- Essence eyeliner pen in black as very thin eyeliner
- RdLY diamond mascara in black on upper and lower lashes
- MNY blush in 301 (a peachy pink gold color)
- RdL eyeshadow in 02 sun (a shimmery light champagne gold color) - as mentioned above - for highlight and glow
- Essence xxl shine lipgloss in timeless beauty (a shimmery light pink color)

the glow on my skin I wore everyday with both the same highlighter and blush
On the second Christmas Day I wore a light Cranberry look, really settle, just to give a hint of the color :) I kept the lips pretty simple and made a really warm glow on my cheeks again :)

These are the products I used:
- RdL eyeshadow in 02 sun (a shimmery light champagne gold color) on the lid
- Catrice Carame LE eyeshadow in C03 Spiced Red (a cranberry color) in the crease
- no name reddish brown eyeshadow in the outer corner
- Essence eyeliner pen in black as very thin eyeliner
- RdLY diamond mascara in black on upper and lower lashes
- MNY blush in 301 (a peachy pink gold color)
- RdL eyeshadow in 02 sun (a shimmery light champagne gold color) - as mentioned above - for highlight and glow
- Essence xxl shine lipgloss in timeless beauty (a shimmery light pink color)

essence lipgloss in timeless beauty on Christmas day 1 and 2

And that's what I wore! As you might notice from the pics, I got my camera for Christmas, so you'll get better pictures in the future! I'm still experiementing with it :)
See ya!

I'm spending the holidays with my family.
3)Favorite Holiday Drink?
I like a lot, just like hot chocolate and tea :) Anything hot and yummy!

Gingerbread men all the way! Although I don't like the taste of it too much, I just think that gingerbread men are way cuter than candy canes!

Last Christmas by Wham!...As well as Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy of the Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky.
6)Weirdest gift you have received?
I don't know...I've always gotten presents I like :)
7)Have you ever made a snowman?
Yes, sure I have! Where I live it snows every year, and we build snowmen all the time :) It's always fun for all of us.
8)Favorite winter fragrance?
Orange and gingerbread, as I told you in the other tag :)
9)What is at the top of your list this christmas?
This year I asked for a nice camera :) I hope I'll get one! You'll notice whether I got one when my pictures get better or stay the same ;)
10)What is most important to you about the holidays?
To me, it's all about family and being and spending time together. That's what I love about the holidays!

I hope you will do this tag too, it's always interesting!

Happy Holidays everyone! I'm taking a little break from blogging now, I'm sure you'll understand that, everyone wants to spend the holidays with their family! I won't blog again before December 27th, but I'll see you after that!
I hope all of you have a great time, enjoy the holidays as much as I do, and spend that time with the ones you love :)
Merry Christmas everyone!

NOTD December 23rd: Fun Christmas Designs!!

Hey there!
It's almost Christmas, I'm so excited! And to get even more into the Christmas mood, I painted my nails with various Christmas designs :) I had so many ideas, but not enough time to do them all, so I did a different design on every nail!
These are the ones I did:

right hand:
thumb: Christmas tree
index: penguin with hat
middle: candy canes
ring: reindeer/moose (don't really know what it is...)
pinkie: Christmas hat
right hand without thumb
left hand:
left hand without thumb
thumb: present
index: snowman
middle: Santa's coat with belt
ring: holly leaves (are they called like that?)
pinkie: colored lights
It would be crazy to tell you all of the steps to create every single one of these, so I won't do it...if you want to know how to do a certain one or which products I used, leave a comment or send me an email at mischsbeautyblog@googlemail.com with your request :) I would like to help you about, but I have no idea which one you want to know about!
I even borrowed my Dad's camera to do some pictures for you, because my regular pictures aren't that great, but I wanted them to be really focused so you're able to see the details :)
my thumbs: a present and a tree :)

What are you wearing on your nails for Christmas? Anything special?
By the way, I'm planning on taking pictures of my Christmas looks on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after that. Are you interested in that? That would make three Christmas looks, just in a little summary :) Wanna see that?

I hope you liked it, and I'll see you tomorrow for a last time before I take a little break over the holidays :)

all of them except for the thumbs

left hand without thumb + right pinkie

by the way: you can click on the pictures to see them in a bigger version!

Review: Carmex Lip Balm

Hello everyone,
today I have a little reivew for you guys. I guess you already read a few reviews about this product, the famous Carmex lip balm, and some of you might have already tried this out, but I still wanted to tell you my thoughts on it :)
Here we go:
Information:
- available at Rossmann and Mueller
- costs 1.99 Euros for 7.5 gramms of product
- should be used up within 24 months
- promises to be a long-lasting relief for dry, chapped lips
- smells like menthol, herbal and a little weird
- feels a little minty, cooling and like a lip plumer on the lips
- since it comes in a pot, it has a very creamy consistency

Positives:
+ cares the lips so so well
+ price
+ sticks to your lips for a while --> you don't have to reapply it all the time
+ easy to get
+ it isn't really visible on the lips, just provides a teeny-tiny bit of shine --> also suitable for men

Negatives:
- the scent (you might like it, though, but honestly, I don't know anyone who does)
- you need to get it on your finger to apply it and that can be gross ( I deal with it by just putting my lips into the pot ;))

Bottom Line: I like it a lot :) The care is so good, it's perfect :) I don't mind the scent that much, because it's gone pretty soon.

Does anyone of you own this lip balm? Do you like it?
I'll see you later!
xoxo, Misch

NOTD December 21st: Star Design

Hi there!
The next design for Christmas is this one: Stars!

That's what you need:
- a base coat (as always, Essence pro white french)
- a gold polish (I used OPI Risin Star from the Burlesque Collection)
- a dark shimmery blue color (I used Essence top speed polish in 26 look at me, it's been discontinued for a while now)
- a nail art brush or toothpick to create the stars
- a top coat (as always, Essence sealing topcoat)

That's how to do it:
1. Use a top coat to protect your natural nails.
2. Paint 3 of your nails gold and the other 2 dark blue.
3. Pour some gold polish onto a piece of paper, pick it up with a brush or toothpick and draw some pretty stars onto the blue nails. Just create them randomly, they don't have to be perfect, and do as many as fit your nail, I did 3 to 5.
4. Pour some of the blue polish onto the paper and pick it up with a clean toothpick or brush. Then draw some stars onto the gold nails :) I only did one on the gold nails to not overwhelm it :)
5. Seal with a top coat to make it last longer.

I'm sorry for the bad pictures, lightning is so bad at my place in winter!
This is my design of today :) Hope you like it!
Bye, Misch

Ready for Christmas TAG!

Hey guys,
in a few days it's Christmas! I'm so excited! So here's a tag to get you in the right mood for the holidays!

1. Whats Your Favorite Holiday Movie?
I don't think that this one has a english title or anything, but in German it's called "Es ist ein Elch entsprungen" and it's actually a very childish movie for like 7 year olds, but we watch it every holiday season :) it's so cute :)

2. Whats Your Favorite Christmas Color?
I love all of the Chrismas colors, like gold, silver, green, red and stuff...they're all so pretty! But I think the one I like the most is gold :)

3. Do You Like To Stay in Your PJs Or Dress Up For Christmas?
I live in Germany and here we celebrate Christmas mainly on Christmas Eve, and that's what I dress up for :)

4. If You Could Only Buy One Person a Present This Year Who Would It Be?
Probably my Mom...I mean, I love to give presents to everyone, especially in my family...I always get something for both of my parents, but my Dad always tells us not to get him anything because he doesn't need things - he basically doesn't want us to spend that much money - and so I get something for my Mom, because that's easier anyway, because she loves certain things :)

5. Do You Open Your Present Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?
Christmas Eve, that's how we do it here in Germany.

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?
Yes, I actually have, a few years ago, I think it was something like 2007. We made it with the whole family and it was really fun, but also a mess so we didn't do it again ;)

7. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
I like to relax and have a great time with my family, but also to meet my friends after the holidays :) I also go skiing a lot, where I live we have a lot of mountains and snow, so that's great!

8. Any Christmas Wishes?
Well, nothing like products or something, because I will get some presents from the family and stuff, but something I would ask for is to have a save and happy new year with everyone I love :)

9. Favorite Christmas Smell?
There are a lot! I already did a post about Chrismas scents a while back to show you the ones I like most. I think what I love especially is gingerbread and oranges :)

10. Favorite Christmas Meal Or Treat?
Well, every Christmas my family has a meal together, and we always have Fondue. I love eating that, it just belongs to Christmas to me :)
And for treat, I love cookies. We make our very own cookies every holiday season, and I love them :) Yummy!

I hope you liked it! I tag all of you, I want to know more about you! Tell me about your favorite Christmas things! Or, if you don't celebrate Christmas, change the questions to whatever holiday you celebrate :)
Happy Holidays everyone!
xoxo, Misch

NOTD December 19th: Snowflake Design

Hey guys!
Today's another nail art design, I'm having a lot of ideas for this season, so I change my nails every few days, and I want to show them all to you!

That's what you need:
- base coat (mine is Essence pro white french)
- lilac polish (I used OPI Do you lilac it?)
- a silver-champagne color (I used Essence Fairytale LE - 02 pixie dust)
- a white color (I used the Essence tip painter in white)
- a silver polish (I used Jesse's Girl in North Star)
- a nail art brush or toothpick to create the design
- a purple color (I used Essie Sexy Divide)
- a top coat (I used Essence Sealing Top Coat)

That's how to do it:
1. Paint all your nails with a base coat to protect the natural nail.

2. Paint some of your nails with the lilac color, some with the champagne.
3. For the nails with the lilac color on them:
we're going to create snowflakes on these nails. You can do how many you like, I always did some in white and some in silver. I did a little graphic on how to create them:
place the snowflakes wherever you want, they can overlap each other if you like that.
4. For the nails with the silver-champagne color on them:
I decided to do these differently so the design wasn't that simple. I just took the purple polish and draw one to two stripes across the nails. You can also do these with the snowflake design, depends on what you like.
5. Seal everything with your top coat.

And that's it! You can also do just one of the two things I did, I just wanted to put a little twist to it :)
Hope you liked it!
xoxo, Misch
