Hey everyone!
I just lately talked about Essence's Rebels LE here *click*, and now I'm wearing the first polish that I got. It's called Rock Coat 01 Punk Royal.
Punk Royal looks just black in the bottle, but it's actually a very sheer gray which contains large black hex glitter particles. I love the idea of this polish, black glitter is so cool and I love that :)
When I swatched Punk Royal on a nail wheel I already noticed that the slight gray tint does transfer onto the nail, so I already expected it to influence the background color. It's for sure not a polish to be worn on its own, you'll probably never get it opaque. It's made for layering :) I chose a red jelly franken to layer it with, I thought I could kinda make a jelly-glitter-sandwich out of it. So here you can see 2 coats of the franken, 1 of the glitter and another one of the franken.
The consistency of Punk Royal is super thick and not easy to work with. The particles are so large that you can't really just apply your polish in a normal way, you just push the particles around. That would be fine if it didn't have this gray tint. But the thing is that as soon as you start pushing around the particles, the gray tint will look patchy, and that is really uncool. It does work, but it'll never be completely leveled out.
This mani was so so hard to photograph, because the jelly red is so shiny that my camera freaked out ;)
The combination of the red and the black glitter reminds be of ladybugs, which is really cool. And I would love it, if only the application was better. But, can't change that...You better think twice before you get this topper, you need to decide whether you want to bother with the poor application. I'm still glad I own it, but it'll never become my go-to polish.
What do you think of it?
xoxo, Misch

NOTD October 29th: Jack O'Lantern Nail Art
Hello there!
This is another nail art design for Halloween, the Pumpkin design that's kinda obligatory for a Halloween series. And it was a lot of fun to do it!
For the pumpkin orange base color I used a orange franken. It's a tad too dark, but I'm fine with it. Then I added some glitter stripes to add a little something extra, and for that I used L.A.Colors Nail Art Deco in Copper Glitter. And the faces were drawn with Essence Fatal and a toothpick. It's really easy to do, and so perfect for Halloween. And it also looks great on short nails because the rather round form of them makes it look more like pumpkins ;)
Do you like this one?
One more design is missing, and I'll see you on Halloween with that!
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch

September 2011 Favorites
Hi guys,
it's time for September favs! These are the products I loved most during September:
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara - I already reviewed this one a while back *click*, and didn't like it too much. Now the formula has turned a bit drier and I find it way better to use.
Essence Multi Color Blush in How Cute Is That? - You guys know that I don't really like this one, because it's so poorly pigmented. Well, that was perfect this month for school, just a swipe of color, and you can't overblush with it, even if you're in a hurry.
Benetton Perfume Inferno Paradiso Pink - I liked this perfume a lot this month. I still just have a sample of this, and it's nowhere close to the end yet, so I won't be getting the full size ;) I just can't describe scents, so I won't do that here ;)
Catrice Eyeshadow in My First Copperware Party - a new color by Catrice that I use all the time. When it has to be quick, I use just this, and mascara. I love it! Here *click* are some swatches.
Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base - I really like this base, it's great! Here *click* I reviewed it.
Essence I Love Glam Eyeliner and Eyeshadow Powder - This one is really great for smokey effects, even though it causes a lot of fall-out. Review on it can be seen here *click*.
Frankening - this month I made my own frankens for the first time, and I love it!
So these were my favs for the month of September. I'd love to see yours, so please leave me a link :)
See you!

NOTD September 29th: Fall Leaf Nail Art
Hey there!
Fall is now finally really coming around, and you guys know I've been looking forward to it for weeks now :D
So I decided to do a fall-themed nail design: colored leaves.
For the base color I used a franken, which is basically a brown-toned orange. And then I stamped glitter on top of it, because fall leaves aren't always just one color, and I also wanted them to sparkle. So I stamped Red Glitter and Copper Glitter by L.A.Colors Nail Art Deco on top of it, at random spots. To make my nails look like leaves now, I drew a pattern on them that looks like leaf veins. For that I used RdlY nail art pen in black.
Do you like this design?
I'll see you soon!

NOTD September 20th: Lilac Franken
Hi there!
So today I want to show you another franken of mine, a lilac polish! Here *click* I already showed you my first franken.
So, to tell you the idea behind this: I wanted to create my version of Purple Rain. The color I think of when I hear that name, I mean. So I started mixing blues, purples and grays together, and after a while this one came out. Now this is totally not the color I think of as Purple Rain, but I loved it nonetheless, and stopped mixing there. Maybe some day I'll be able to make my version of Purple Rain ;)
Now this color, which doesn't have a name (any ideas?!) is a blue-toned purple with a bit of gray in it. In real life it's a bit more gray, on the pictures it looks too purple. It has a secret shimmer, but it's not too apparent, so in most lights it'll look like a creme.
The main colors in this polish are clear (Essence Color&Go in Absolute Pure), a pale violet (OPI - Do You Lilac It? *click*), a very blue purple (Catrice - Up In The Air *click*) and a gray (Essence 50's Girls Reloaded LE - You're A Heartbreaker *click*). I mainly used the gray for the shimmer. I also added a few drops of other colors, but I can't really remember them, sorry.
Do you like this polish?
I'll see you guys soon!

NOTD September 16th: First Ever Franken! :)
Hey there!
So today I want to show you a nail polish I mixed myself, a franken! It's the first one I ever did, and I'm so proud of myself! There are so many talented people who make the most gorgeous franken polishes, and I'm still a beginner at this. But it's so much fun, and I already made a few colors more that I'll be showing you in the future :)For my first ever franken I used a recipe I found on ThePolishedPerfectionist here *click*. I just loved it, so I had to recreate it! For my version I used half a bottle of clear polish (Essence Color&Go in Absolute Pure), half a bottle of multi-colored glitter polish (Essence Nail Art Special Effect Topper in Circus Confetti) and 5 drops each of 2 different blues (Manhattan - Do You Twitter? and OPI - Suzi Says Feng Shui).
It is meant to be a jelly, and to be only semi-opaque. In my pics I have horrible Visible Nail Line (VNL), but in real life it's not as bad. It's just the macro that exaggerates it a little.
I'm really happy with my first franken, and it definitely won't be my last. Do you guys franken?
Talk to you later!
xoxo, Misch
