When we were in Scotland, we of course had to visit a couple of the famous lochs located all over the western part of the country. One on the list was Loch Shiel, which is not far from Fort William.
On the northern end of the loch, where we went, you can have a nice view down the lake. You can walk all the way down to the water and along the shore.
Right by the loch there's the Glenfinnan Monument, a very popular monument depicting a highlander in a kilt on top of a tower.
Just a couple of metres away from the loch there's a visitor centre and a trail leads up a hill. After a walk of maybe five minutes, you reach the top of the hill and have a wonderful look down on the lake and the surrounding area.
What you can also see from the hilltop is the Glenfinnan Viaduct. It is a railway viaduct to which you can also walk. It is about another 10 minutes or so into the country, and you can walk right to the foots of the columns. You have a better overview, though, if you stand a little elevated.
On thing that makes Loch Shiel so special to us, and made it a must-see on our list, is that it's the place where Hogwarts is situated. The Great Lake in the movies is Loch Shiel! And the Glenfinnan Viaduct is the way the Hogwarts Express takes to get to the castle.
When we were standing there, it was so simple to imagine Hogwarts there on the side of the lake, or to see Buckbeak flying over the water. It is a very magical place!
Even if you're not a Harry Potter fan, Loch Shiel is definitely worth a visit. We saw the scenery in the autumn, around the middle of October, and it was breathtaking. The leaves in the woods that surround the top of the lake made everything so colourful, which makes for a stunning effect. It's incredibly beautiful and very calm and peaceful. I loved it there! Especially because we went in the late afternoon, which meant that pretty much nobody but us was around.
The loch has a fantastic mirror effect, which adds to the beauty of it. Seeing everything reflected in the water gives the whole scenery a symmetry that is very pleasing for the eye. And it makes it look so much more magical and inspiring.
I can highly recommend seeing Loch Shiel. It's such a pretty loch, and it has to be my favourite of those we saw. It being a Harry Potter filming location only is an added bonus!
Have any of you ever been there?

Cliffs of Moher: a must-see in Ireland
This stop was one of the most exciting ones we had in Ireland: the Cliffs of Moher.
These cliffs are a super fascinating scenery located directly on the western coast line of Ireland, about halfway between Limerick and Galway. If you follow the Wild Atlantic Way, you will directly drive along them.
When visiting the Cliffs of Moher, you can explore a little exhibition about the cliffs and all kinds of facts in the Exhibition Centre. And then, outside, there's a long way to walk along the cliffs. Starting at the exhibition centre, you can walk quite a couple of kilometres both to the left and the right.
If you prefer to stay safe and a bit away from the actual cliffs, it is better to choose the way to the left, where you have more of an actual path.
To the right, the fixed path ends relatively soon, but you can proceed on a way over some fields. There are no boundaries stopping you from stepping all the way to the edge. This is way more fun, if you like a bit of a risk, but also more dangerous.
We walked in both directions, and they were equally beautiful. The right side was more exciting, though.
You can walk directly along the edge at approximately 200 metres above the sea. The feeling you get up there is indescribable. It's frightening but at the same time very exciting. You're full of adrenaline when you look down, because it really wouldn't take much to fall down.
We sat down at one point, feet dangling in the air, and it was such a strange but good feeling. I was most certainly scared, but I am so glad that I did it and made myself sit down.
The Cliffs of Moher are very popular, not only for their beauty but also because they were a shooting location for Harry Potter. The scene in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, where Harry and Dumbledore are standing on a cliff in the sea, right before they enter Tom Riddle's cave where he hid the amulet horcrux, was filmed there.
You can see the platform on which they stood in the water, but can also tell that in the movie a lot of CGI and editing was used. It's exciting nonetheless!
Even though it was a rainy and windy day when we were there, we spent hours walking along the cliffs, taking pictures and enjoying it as best as we could. We are deeply impressed by the scenery, and I would most certainly go back.
I highly recommend this experience, and hope that you too will check it out, should you ever find yourselves in that area. But please be safe and don't risk too much by stepping too close to the edge!

DIY Deathly Hallows Jute Bag
Hey guys!
Today I'd like to share a little DIY project I did a couple of days ago. You know these jute bags, the normal plain ones? A lot of stores sell them with some saying on them, but I decided to put my own design onto it! After thinking for a while I settled for a Deathly Hallows design, just because that's like my go-to logo. I just love it so much!
First of all, I had to find a regular and plain jute bag. Luckily I still had one laying around from grocery shopping! Then I just had to pick out black fabric paint (which you can get at your local craft store) and a brush. Also, pull the jute bag over something to protect the back!
I started by drawing the sign on with a pencil, and then went over the lines with the fabric paint. I did two coats to be sure it's opaque!
As a last step to fix the design, I had to iron it because the bottle of fabric paint said so. And tada, my awesome bag! I love it, it's super simple and fun!
What do you think of it? What would you put on your bag?

NOTD November 21st: Harry Potter Nail Art
Hey there!
So it's time for a nail art design only a big big fan like me wears, but I think it's cool :D I did a Harry Potter weekend with my best friend, and we watched the first 4 movies in one night :D A big yay for being a freak!
And for the special occasion, I did Harry Potter nails. The background color is OPI - Rising Star from last year's Burlesque Holiday collection, and then I drew all of the stuff on with a toothpick and p2 - eternal.
I did the Deathly Hallows symbol twice, and then a H, a P and a lightning bolt. YAY :D
I'm not gonna keep spamming you with my crazy stuff, I think this is a good point to end this post here :D
See ya!

As excited as one can be! :D
Hey there!
It's November 18th, and guess what happens today (at least here in Germany)! Harry Potter 7.2 DVD launches!
I can't wait to get to the store and get my very own DVD, I'm so excited!
And I think I'll be wearing my self-made Deathly Hallows t-shirt :D
Yes, I'm kind of a hardcore fan, but being normal is just boring, right?! :D
I officially declare myself a Harry Potter - no, not fan, but - freak!
What do you think? Will you be getting a DVD, too? Do you think I'm insane? I'm just as sane as Luna I guess :D
Harry Potter power, and yes, you can laugh about me :D

Book-Blogging #6: My own Harry Potter Tag!
Hi guys,
this post is just for fun, and if you're not in the mood for some fun, click away, okay?! :D
I know I'm crazy, but I just had to do this: I invented my own Harry Potter tag! If you don't want to read about my love to Harry Potter anymore, go ahead and tell me, or otherwise I'll go on telling you about my addiction :D
Here you go for the questions:
1. When did you start reading Harry Potter?
I think I was about 8 years when I started reading it :) And I haven't stopped ever since, I love reading it all the time!
2. Why do you like Harry Potter books?
I think they're amazingly written, the story's great and really complex, and it's one of the best book series I've ever read!
3. What is so special about Harry Potter books in your opinion?
Everything! The whole story is invented so creatively, and everything's just fitting into one big picture. Friendship, love, bravery, it all plays a role in it, and all of the characters are described so well!
4. Do you like Harry Potter movies?
Yes I do :) They will never be better than the books, but they're still great! A lot of times, when a book is turned into a movie, the movie's really disappointing (I'm looking at you, Twilight!). But Harry Potter movies never disappoint, they're great :)
5. Compare Harry Potter books and movies!
The books are of course way more detailed, and all of the stories are easier to describe. The movies, however, are visual, which makes some things easier to understand or to show. With the books, you can play with your own creativity, whereas in the movies, everything's set and you can't image in anymore.
6. Who's your favorite character?
I don't really have one, but when I was little that used to be Hermione. I dressed up like her for carnival and Halloween and also played it with my friends :)
7. Which one is your favorite book of the series?
I love all of them, but I think I love The Deathly Hallows most :) It was the best book in my opinion :D
8. Which one is your least favorite book of the series?
Even though I love them all, I have one that I don't like as much as all the others, and that's number 6, The Half-Blood Prince. I don't know why, but I think it's my least favorite because is wasn't as exciting as the other books.
9. Tell us about one of your favorite quotations!
That changes a lot of times, depending on which book I read last and stuff. But currently that's "After all this time? - Always." out of the last book, when Snape's full story is told.
10. Do you think Joanne K. Rowling should write another Harry Potter book?
Yes, definitely! But not one that is just an additional book to satisfy the fans! If she writes one, I want a real story, and one that is as good as the others. So maybe it's better to keep it at this point where it is, and not ruin it by some weird continuation.
I hope you liked this tag, and if you're just a teeny tiny Harry Potter fan, you have to do this tag :D

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Movie Review
Hey there!
I'm just too excited about this movie, so I had to write a review about it!
First of, a few facts: (all of these are based on the facts here in Germany at my local cinema!)
Now, the movie starts with repeating the last 30 seconds of the first Deathly Hallows movie, and that's good here. There was luckily no "Previously on Harry Potter" or anything, that was great.
In the beginning, all of the events were really quick one after the other, seeming to be heading directly to the big battle of Hogwarts. But that fact didn't make the movie worse, it was just a little rushing.
To me, in this movie there was the right amount of dramatic, emotional and funny scenes. Everything seemed to be perfect the way it was, and it just all fitted.
The original song, Hedwig's Theme *click*, was used pretty often, and that was great. I love that theme, it just screams Harry Potter, and I liked it that way!
Since I love Harry Potter so much, I would have loved the movie to be way longer, even though 130 minutes are already pretty long! But almost nothing got left out, the only thing that wasn't fully there was Dumbledore's story. It got mentioned, but not as detailed and clear as it is in the books.
Snape's story was one of the highlights in my opinion, it was made really good! I liked that, it worked so well and just completed the story of everything!
Right before the battle started and also during the battle, it all looked so amazing! I found myself staring at the screen when all the spells and enchantments lit it, and it was just so so awesome!
A few scenes were a little bit different than in the books, but it all worked and wasn't weird, even not to a person like me who read the books like a thousand times. I'm not gonna tell you what, though, so it's not all spoiled here and you can see it in the movie :D
Sometimes it got a little sad, when people died and stuff, and it was always the right mix of emotional and dramatic. It just worked with the whole story. But you don't see everyone die in the movie.
The end was good, too, but I have a little mixed feelings about it. When they were at Hogwarts, after the battle was won, I would have wanted it to end. But they did the "19 years later" thing like in the books. It was okay, and it didn't destroy the movie's great image, but to me it just wasn't necessary. The end could have been great without it, too.
All of the effects were done nicely, you could definitely tell that they put a lot of effort and money into it.
The 3-D effect during the whole movie was great! Really good quality, almost no blurry edges or anything, and it was good to watch. Sometimes 3-D can cause a really bad headache, but this one didn't. But it also wasn't used all time. I mean, of course, the complete movie with on exception was in 3-D. But not every second there was something "coming out" of the screen, sometimes the 3-D only made it all look more real.
A few fun facts:
The first sentence in the movie is spoken by Luna, and the first sentence Harry says is a few seconds later, and it is "It's time to talk to the goblin" or something like that ;) I don't know the exact words, since I only saw it in German ;)
After all, I have to say I love love love it!! It was so so awesome! Probably the best Harry Potter EVER! It's the finale, and it's epic, like it's supposed to be. I really have to say, if you are just the tiniest bit of a Harry Potter fan, GO WATCH IT! I think I'm gonna go watch it a second time, because I loved it that much! Harry Potter movies never disappoint, and neither did this one. AWESOME!
To me, Harry Potter's not over just because the last movie came out. Sure, it definitely has a sad touch to it, because there won't be anything new about it now anymore, but Harry Potter's just so epic that it'll go on anyway! I'll never stop watching the movies and reading the books :) <3
I hope I didn't bore you to death now, but I just had to talk about it! If you made it through the whole post, reading everything: You're awesome :D
And I'm a freak :D :D <3
Did anyone see the movie already, too?
I'll see you later!
xoxo, Misch
I'm just too excited about this movie, so I had to write a review about it!
First of, a few facts: (all of these are based on the facts here in Germany at my local cinema!)
- it's 130 minutes long
- it's in 3-D
- the official Germany start was 7/14/, but a few cinemas, like mine here, already did previews on 7/13/
- the official US and UK launch was on 7/15/
- it was the last Harry Potter movie ever
- it's completing the last book, the first part came out last November
Now this review's really hard to write without any spoilers, so I probably won't be able to do that :/ I'm trying to, but let me already warn you ahead of time: If you haven't read the book and/or haven't seen the other movies, this might be a little full of spoilers :/ And if you don't want to know any details yet, because you're gonna watch the movie soon, go ahead and click the little red X on the right corner. Don't tell me afterwards that because of this post you're not looking forward to it anymore, because I warned you :D

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Movie!! :D SO EXCITED!!
Hi there!
OMG you guys, I'm so so excited! I know this is not make-up related or anything, but in my previous rather random posts you must have gotten an idea of how much I love Harry Potter :D
Tomorrow the movie's launching in Germany, and today I'll go see it with my sister! Our local cinema has a preview kinda thing, and I'm so so glad I still got tickets for it!! It's 3D, and even though that is sometimes not my preferred way to watch it, for the finale it'll be so perfect!
You really have no idea how excited I am!! It's so sad that it'll be over after that, but still...I can't wait to see the movie! In about an hour I'll be at the movies, waiting anxiously for the movie to start! Aaaahhh...:D
To add at least a little make-up part: I did Harry Potter themed nails, pics will be up tomorrow :)
Do you want a movie review? Without spoilers of course :)
I'm really thinking about pulling out my old cloak :D When I was little, I was always Hermione for Halloween, and my Grandma made me cloaks :D Have I mentioned I'm a freak?! :D
Are you as excited to see the finale as I am?? And don't tell my you're not a Harry Potter fan, that'd destroy my great mood :D Just kidding :D
I'll see you tomorrow!
Until then,
xoxo, Misch

Book-Blogging #5: TAG!
Hi guys!
Today's Book-Blogging post is not about a certain book, but a tag! Yay, isn't that fun?! :D It's a mix of some tags I found and some self made up questions :) Hope you like it!
1. How do you organize your bookshelf?
I have a tall thin bookshelf with 4 several shelf-parts. And on every of these I have some books that belong together. Some are from one series and some are from the same author, but the books on one shelf have most of the time something in common. And on each of the shelves the books are either organized alphabetically, or, if they are from a series, chronologically. Might sound complicated, but it isn't ;)
2. What's your favorite book?
Well, that's really hard for me to pick because I read a lot of books and every book's special in its own way, so I just can't pick one here. But I love love love Harry Potter books :D
3. Where do you like to read?
I love to read somewhere comfy, so I read on my bed, a couch or outside on a campbed :) With a lot of pillows and stuff, just cozy and comfy.
4. What is your favorite book cover?
That one was actually kinda hard to pick, but I have to choose "shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater which I reviewed here *click*. It's such a pretty one!
5. If you could meet a book author, who would it be and why?
I'd love to meet Joanne K. Rowling because I love Harry Potter books. I'd like to meet the person behind them who made up all of that amazing stuff ;) I'm sure she's a very creative person.
6. What's Your favorite book from your childhood?
My very fist book, and also the one I loved most during my childhood is a little one with pics in it about a raven doing stuff. It's so adorable and I still have it at my place :)
7. What kinds of books do you usually read?
I love romantic and funny stories, as well as fantasy stuff, such as Harry Potter :D But I read love stories most of the time.
8. What type of book can't you stand at all?
I don't really like adventure stories or too creepy horror books. I'm more the type for happy things ;)
9.What do you like about reading?
I love the fact that you can really get into a book and forget everything around you. Reading a new book is like diving into something new, a totally different world. I love how books can take your breath away with just some written words. In books so many things are possible.
10. What are you currently reading?
Right now I'm reading once again Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone :D I love it, and I have it in both English and German here.
11. Do you prefer series or single books?
I love a lot of series, just like -guess what- Harry Potter :D, Gossip Girl, Twilight and so on. I like them because the story's not ending too quickly. When there's a book I really really like, then I don't want it to end, so I'm really glad when it's part of a series that'll go on. Only downside to this is that then I'll have to buy multiple books ;) But I guess I prefer series.
12. Do you like movies or books better?
I prefer books most of the time, because they're way more detailed and in books there are way more things possible that just can't be done in movies. Most of the time, the movie to a book are really disappointing :P Only Harry Potter movies are as good as the books :D Sorry for mentioning it again :D
Well, that's it about this tag :D Now you know how much I love Harry Potter books :D If you want to know more of my love it these books, *click* here to read more :D <3
Feel free to do this tag, too, I'd love to read your fill-ins! If you do it, post the ling in the comments below so I can read it :)
I'll talk to you guys later!

Book-Blogging #2: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K.Rowling
Hey everyone!
Today I have another book review for you guys :)
First I want to talk about Harry Potter in general, and then get into the actual review for the book.
I love Harry Potter books so much, because it's all so amazing. I admire Joanne K. Rowling for being that creative and thinking of these huge things and creating a whole new world on this that got so famous! Everything's thought out so well, everything's intertwined and then turns out to be different in really life, partly really complicated. I think it's still good to understand and I really admire J.K.Rowling for being that amazing! <3
I've always been loving these books, and I started reading them when I was like 8 years old. I had to wait for some of the novels, but not all of them. And I've loved them every since, there's never been a huge disappointment or anything, I even used to play Harry Potter scenes with my friends :) When we were in elementy school we played Harry Potter all the time, and I was always Hermione. Back then, I was totally convinced that when I turned 11, I would get a letter from Hogwarts and be a witch one day ;) Unfortunately, the letter didn't come^^ ;)
Now onto Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the German title is Harry Potter und die Heiligtuemer des Todes). It's -of course- by Joanne K. Rowling, and the 7th and last novel in the Harry Potter Series. I already told you in this favs post from January that I love love love Harry Potter, and this is pretty much my favorite book from the series. It's been turned into a movie already, but only the first half of it. The second half of this book will hit cinemas this July. When we're already talking about Harry Potter movies, I wanna say that I like them a lot, and I honestly think that Harry Potter movies are some of the few that when a book was changed into a movie that it wasn't disappointing. I find most of the time books are way better that their movies, but it's not like that with this one.
Now let's get into the review:
The story is about Harry, Ron and Hermione on the hunt for the Horcruxes, getting to know about the Deathly Hollows and having a lot of problems on their way. I'm not gonna say more about the story, because it's very hard to do that without spoiling it ;) The spoiler part's gonna come later ;) What I already mentioned above - meaning why I love Harry Potter books - also applies to this book, of course. I love it! This is pretty much my favorite book from the Harry Potter series :) But I was also a little sad as I finished it - not because of the ending, but because it was the last book. I love Harry Potter so much (I like said this so so often in this post ;)) and it was kinda sad that this was the end of it. I mean, if she wanted to, Joanna K. Rowling could write another Harry Potter book for sure, but she said a few times that she won't. And it's kinda sad that an amazing series ends! This is a huge part of my childhood, so it's bad it ended :P But I'll keep reading the books over and over again :)
Now, SPOILER ALERT!! Only read this following part if you want to know parts of the story or already know them!
I was a little unhappy that they didn't return to Hogwarts in this book, because I always loved all the things that happenend there. It's like Hogwarts had totally it's own little magic. But it was also kinda interesting to have the three of them on their own. When Ron left them, I was pretty unhappy because that was really bad. Luckily he came back! I had no idea how they would be able to find all of the Horcruxes, but they somehow did ;) The story with the Deathly Hollows was really great, it totally worked with everything. I even remember that the name Peverell was already mentioned in several books before, so it shows again how well-thought-out these books are.
What I was surprised by was these whole Dumbledore stories that made him look way worse than you used to think of him! But the story with his little sister, that also worked with what he said in the end of novel #6 when he took that "drink", so another well-thought-out part of it :)
In this book, so many good people died: MadEye, Fred, Dobby (yeah, that was especially sad in the movie), Lupin, Tonks, and so on! :(
I liked the fact that Hermione and Ron kissed right before the end, that totally made sense :)
Harry died, and I was so shocked, but I kinda thought before that Harry could be the 7th Horcrux, so it didn't surprise me too much. Well, he luckily came back, and I thought it was so clever that he acted as if he was dead, and then defeated Voldemort (or do you prefer to say You-Know-Who??)! Smart idea, huh?!
And then, the very end, when they're all married and having kids and stuff...I liked it, it made sense, but part of me thought it was like almost like a forced happy ending...I don't know, it's still great :) And I think it leaves a little bit of space for another novel :) I know, sure, Voldemort is dead, but there could be something different happening ;) I'd be the happiest person in the whole world if Joanne K. Rowling decided to pick it up again and write another book, but unfortunately that's not very likely to happen :P
SPOILER ALERT OVER!
Well, that's that....quite a long post, but I just love Harry Potter (how often did I say that in this post?! A hundered times??) and had to talk about it :)
Do you love it as much as I do??
xoxo, Misch
