Best Of Beauty 2012: My Top 10 Picks

Hey there!
With the new year starting, I don't want to immediately forget about the old one! So, here are my favorite picks from 2012, concerning cosmetics. We had tons of cool things this year, lots of new products and limited editions, and I had quite a few favorites! Here they are, in no particular order, my top 10 products of the year!

Catrice Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE Eyebrow Lifter C01 Casablanca's Highlight
You guys knew this had to be included. Ever since it was released this September I've been using it daily. One of the top products of 2012! Here *click* I reviewed it.

Essence MySkin Tinted Moisturizer 01 Light
This tinted moisturizer is just perfect for my skin. It freshens up my complexion and hydrates it. Since March when it was launched I've been using it every single, also have it in the darker shade for when I'm tan. Review: *click*.

Essence Color3 nail polish series
Here we have a nail polish line Essence released around the beginning of 2012. I love how all of the shades look great with its partner, but how you can also use them on their own. The left shades are all highly opaque whereas the ones on the right have very special shimmers. Here are some NOTDs with them:
A Walk In The Park, Midnight Date, Shopping Trip In Soho, Kiss On Top Of The Rock, It's Two Bright.

Essence Rebels LE Lip & Cheek Pot 01 Peach Punk
This creme blush came out in April, and I immediately loved it. It's a very interesting shade but actually totally flattering when worn. Love how it makes you look so fresh! Review: *click*.

Catrice FeMALE LE Cream To Powder Blush C01 A Woman's World
Another cream blush, yes. A really good and wearable one, I loved it for day to day looks and still use it all the time. Review can be found here *click*.

Catrice Eyeshadow 400 My First Copperware Party
Now this has already been released in 2011, but in 2012 I learned to love it. This is the prettiest and most wearable shade ever, and it can be used for so many different looks! I love it! Here *click* you can see swatches of it.

Balea Professional Oil Repair Hair Oil
This hair product is one I only discovered this winter, but I love it a lot! Very great care for long and damaged hair, and not heavy at all! Review is here *click*.

SunOzon Sun Fluid for face SPF 30
This sun screen has saved me this summer. Finally a good one that doesn't make you look shiny and greasy, and you can mix it very well with your moisturizer! Review: *click*.

Ebelin Professional Eyeshadow & Concealer Brush
A great brush I discovered this year. I've been using it all the time for my concealer and really love it :) Review: *click*.

Essence Breaking Dawn Part 2 LE Blush 01 Renesmee Red
Last but not least, the famous blush from Essence's Breaking Dawn Part 2 LE. A red matte shade, quite unique! It has a great texture and I like it a lot! Review: *click*.

October '12 Favs

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you my favorites for the month of October, here you go:
Catrice Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE - Blush - I really like the coral pink shade of this blush, and the fact that it's matte. Here *click* I reviewed it.

That's already it, I don't have a lot of favorites for October, mainly because I was just using the basic stuff I always use, but whatever.

Review: Catrice Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE Eyebrow Lifter C01 Casablanca's Highlight

Hi there!
Today I'd like to review the Eyebrow Lifter from Catrice's Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE :)
Information:
  • Catrice Eyebrow Lifter C01 Casablanca's Highlight
  • part of the  Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE, September 2012
  • is like a thicker eyeliner pencil
  • the color's a very light natural pink
  • it contains 3g
  • it costs 2,95 Euros
  • it's meant to be a highlighting pencil for your eyebrow area
  • it contains carmine

Positives:
  • price
  • good pigmentation
  • very creamy
  • easy to apply
  • easy to blend
  • you can use it underneath your brow, in your inner corner and on the waterline
  • the light pink neutralizes blue shading around the eyes
  • is a possible dupe for Benefit's HighBrow
  • lasts all day on your eye area
  • lasts for a couple of hours on your waterline, then fades gradually

Negatives:
  • it's limited
  • it's bigger than normal eyeliner pencils, so you need a bigger sharpener for it (the one that comes with the double sharpeners works fine)
  • it can enhance dry skin underneath your brow

used lightly underneath the brow, in the inner corner and on the waterline
After all, I'm super happy with this product :) It's great for a daily use, I love it in the morning because it makes me look way more awake :)
What do you think of this one?

Spotted: Catrice Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE

Hey there!
I just lately saw this new LE at my drugstore, and I'm pretty excited about it :) I'm talking about Catrice's Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE.
This LE contains 2 eyeshadow quads, 1 brow gel, 1 eyebrow lifter pencil, 4 lipsticks, 1 lip gloss top coat, 1 blush and 5 nail polishes. Here *click* you can find an overview of the products.
The eyeshadow quads come in natural and rather cool-toned shades. Some are shimmery, some matte, and I'm sure you could do lots of different looks with these. I decided had enough similar shades, so I didn't get them. As far as I can judge from the testers, they seemed to be pretty pigmented.
The eyebrow gel is supposed to be a bit tinted, but I couldn't tell the tint at the store. Don't need it.
The Eyebrow Lifter is a big pencil to add highlights around your eye. I think it's actually quite similar to Benefit HighBrow! The shade is a very light natural pink, and it's super creamy and opaque. I can't wait to use this one for my daily looks :)
here I blended it out
here I used it lightly underneath my brow, in my inner corner and on the water line
The lipsticks are all super pretty shades of red and pink, from very dark to nude. I found some even a little too dark! They're really pigmented and glide on, but I didn't get any of these.
The lip gloss top coat is supposed to add shine over any lip product, but I didn't need it.
The blush is super pretty! It's a mix of pressed and baked blush, I think the little sprinkles are the baked parts. It's a pink coral shade, and doesn't have any shimmer, it's matte. Pigmentation is good, and I love it :) This is gonna be great for every day :)
Last but not least, the nail polishes. Also all pinkish shades, super pretty. I could have bought them all :D I ended up deciding on one, C03 Marlene's Favorite, which is a pretty coral pink. Coral is really hard to me to pull off with my skin tone, but I think this has enough pink in it to look good :) It's a creme, 2 coats shown in the swatch. Nice consistency. The shade is very close to the blush's.
After all, I'm impressed! I'm super happy with this LE! I could have bought everything right away, but I was reasonable. And I even think the pink shades work for fall, they're all dusty enough not to be bright. So pretty :) And everything in this LE looks great together!
What do you think of it? Are you as smitten as I am?

Vacation Series: What To Take With You

Hey everyone!
Today I want to continue my Vacation Series. In this episode I'll be talking about what to take with you on vacation!
First of all, you need to be aware of the climate of the country you're going to. So check out some information on humidity and temperature before you, and then pack your stuff accordingly.
Since it's a very popular vacation destination, I'll talk about what to take with you when you're visiting the beach in a warm region.
In general, I think that on vacation at the beach, less is more in terms of cosmetics. It'll be warm, and you rather want to look natural than wear a lot of heavy stuff on your face! Make sure to go for key products you can rely on, and that can be used for a lot of different looks. When you travel you don't have a lot of space most of the time, so try to narrow them down to the really important things. Let's get into what to pack exactly!
First of all, the most important stuff: sun screen. Here *click* I already talked about how important it is, and you just must not forget to take it with you! Then it's also very important to take a good moisturizer with you! I always take my regular skin care routine products with me, then my skin won't have problems because it's used to the products. Other than that, you'll need shower things to take care of your body. A good shower gel and body lotion will do, and if you have to shave, you can use your shower gel instead of taking an extra shaving cream. That's about it concerning care products!
To take care of your hair, pack something that is caring and cleansing nicely. If you have to be quick, you can go for a 2in1 product. I don't think it's necessary to pack a lot of extra products, you can do masks and use leave-ins when you're back.
Now, concerning make-up: like I already said, less is more. For your face, take either a light foundation or a tinted moisturizer so you won't sweat as much. Go for a mattifying powder as well to reduce shine. Mascara is always good, and maybe you even want to get a waterproof one to use all day. I'd recommend taking a nice blush, and a good idea for that is cream blush. You don't necessarily have to pack a brush for it, and you can use it on your lips as well! The last thing I'd take is lipgloss, it can always be worn.
If you want to go out at night, I'd maybe also take an eyeliner with me. Eyeshadow can be nice, too, but that would be mean packing brushes and different colors/palettes and an eyeshadow base and that is a lot of stuff!
You also really don't need to pack a whole lot of colors! A friend of mine once packed 5 colors of blush for a 3-day-trip, in case she might be in the mood for one of the colors. That's crazy, it's fully okay to wear 1 shade of blush or lipstick for a couple of days!
The last thing to keep in mind is the way you pack your stuff, because when you are in a hot country, chances are that some products might melt, and you want to avoid that.
What kind of cosmetics do you pack when you go on vacation?
xoxo, Misch

Best of Beauty 2011: My Top 10 Favs

Hey there!
The year is coming to an end, and I think it is time to talk about some favorites of 2011! Last year I already did this here *click*, and this year I'm already doing it before New Year's. My favorites for the month of December are gonna follow in the new year.
I'm now gonna show you my 10 favorite products of 2011, at least the ones I can remember ;) I'll try and only mention products that also got released in 2011, but I'm not sure whether that's gonna work ;) Let's get started! By the way: these are in no particular order!

Astor HD Mattitude Foundation - This is the best foundation ever for me! I discovered this in the beginning of 2011 and haven't used a different one ever since! Here *click* I reviewed it.
Essence Studio Nails Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer - I'm so in love with this top coat! It dries fast, it smooths every bubble, it's awesome! Here's the review *click*.
Catrice Floralista LE Duo Blush in As Lively As Ever - Here we have a blush that was part of an early spring LE, and I've been using it all the time. It was my go-to blush all spring, summer and fall long, and I still like it a lot! Swatches can be seen here *click*.
Benefit Finding Mr. Bright Kit - These were my first Benefit products, and I really like them! Super great kit for starters, and great for a natural and glowy look :) Here *click* I reviewed it back in spring.
Essence Sun Club LE Gel Eyeliner in BBC All Night Brown - Another LE product, a great eyeliner. The dark brown with the subtle shimmer is great for a lot of looks, the texture is soft and it still didn't dry up! I used just this a lot of times! Here *click* are more pictures and a review.
Nivea Happy Time Shower Gel - I like this shower cream so much and bought it quite a few times this year! It's so moisturizing that you don't have to use body lotion and the scent is great :) Review: *click*.
Isana Vitamin&Yogurt Body Lotion - Another body care product, a nice body lotion. It has a fun scent, is super easy to apply and doesn't leave a greasy film. *Click* for the review.
Alterra Caring Lipstick in Coral - This lipstick is super nice, it has a great consistency and I used it a lot of times when I wanted some color but still not too much. Yes, there's also a review link: *click*.
Essence Stampy Polish in White - Now this is not technically something that was released in 2011, and I also owned this in 2010 already, but with all of the nail art I've been doing in 2011 I needed this all the time. I think this is my most bought polish! :D
And I seriously don't have a picture of this! :O Here *click* is just a Google Image one.
p2 Profi Time!High Definition Concealer - This really was my go-to concealer, I used it every day ever since I bought it in June or something, and I'm still not out of my first tube! It's great. Here *click* is the review on it.
Well, these were the favorites for 2011 I could think of! What were yours? I'd love to know!
See you later,
xoxo, Misch

EOTD December 7th: Golden Holiday Look

Hey there!
From Essence's current LE, Circus Circus, I bought the cream eyeshadow in the color 01 It's Magic. Here *click* you can already see swatches and stuff. And I knew immediately I had to do a look with it, especially for the Christmas season :) So here it is!
I first used the already mentioned cream eyeshadow all over my lid and then shaded my crease with Catrice's eyeshadow in 070 Mr. Copper's Fields. And in my inner corner I used a no name light champagne highlighting shade. For eyeliner I used Essence's Kajal Smudger Pencil in brown from an old LE, Secrets Of The Past. I used this on the outer part of my upper lash line, just a bit, and on my lower lash line, too. Towards the tear duct I blended it with the cream eyeshadow again. Mascara is Evolution To Revolution Mascara by Catrice.
This look doesn't require a lot of products, but it's still perfect for the holiday season! I like it a lot!
In real life the colors are more vivid and especially the gold shines more. It's that bad winter lighting that makes these pictures look a bit pale.
What do you think? Do you like to wear golds for the Xmas season?
See ya!

EOTD November 8th

Hi there!
Today I want to show you an EOTD! In the title it doesn't have a name, like my EOTDs usually have, and that's because of a lack of creativity. I don't know, it's not really smokey, but also not too light, it's not very cool or warm toned, and it's also not for just one season. So, no name for this one, sorry!
However, I really like this look, because it's easy to do and it's pretty! I also wore a similar look to a dance night with my friend lately :)
I started off with using NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt, and applied it all over my lid, stopping right before the crease. There I applied the silver shade from the Essence quad, and blended it towards the brow and towards the lash line with the bronze shade of the quad. In the inner corner and directly under my brow I applied the light champagne shade. And for eyeliner I used the one from the quad. That means I used everything from the quad except for the darkest shade :D Mascara is Catrice's Evolution to Revolution Mascara.
On the lower lash liner I wanted it to be a tad colorful but still be cool-toned. So I applied Essence's Eyeliner Pen in 08 Touch Of Glam, a dark purple, and blended over it with the silver eyeshadow from the quad, to make it a bit more smokey.
I really like this look, do you too?
I'll will talk to you later!
xoxo, Misch
