Nail Art & Review: BornPrettyStore Stamping Plate BP-55

As I promised, more BornPrettyStore stamping nail art coming up!

This time I used the Image Plate BP-55, which contains 3 big designs and some more smaller ones. The look I picked out is an abstract turn on different leaves and patterns. I love how detailed it is!
For a base I picked Kink by Illamasqua, which has a semi-matte finish and thus gives an interesting turn on the design.
The stamping was done in a white stamping polish also from BornPrettyStore. You can see it here in my last post on stamping.
With this design, I experienced a tiny bit of trouble when it came to stamping the look onto my nails. It turned out well, but in some cases not all parts of the design would come off the plate and therefore also didn't transfer onto my nail. But with such little lines and details, that can happen. And it didn't happen all the time, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get the above results.

The image plate retails for $2,99 on the BornPrettyStore website. By using the code MS10K31 when checking out, you will get 10% off your order.

After all, I really like this design! The colour pops against the dark green background, and it makes for an exciting look!
How do you guys like it?

xx, Misch

November 2013 Favourites

Hi there!

Before I start to forget about this, time for my favourites of the month of November!
Ebelin Beauty Blender - I love this little thingie to blend all kinds of things, especially foundation and tinted moisturizer. Used it quite often this month! Review can be found here *click*.

Ebelin Concealer Brush - I really like this brush to apply concealer to all parts of my face where I need it! It's originally meant to be an eyeshadow brush, but I prefer it for concealer. Review: *click*.

Urban Decay Bootycall - One eyeshadow from my Naked 2 that I used on seriously every single day of the month. It's the perfect light, slightly rose-colored highlighting shade. Swatches: *click*.

Illamasqua Never - Another pretty eyeshadow that I had totally forgotten about. Pulled it back out this month and used it to wear a subtle but colorful eyeliner. Swatches can be seen here *click*, and here *click* you can see how I wore it.

Catrice Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE Blush C01 Gone With The Wind - One of my all time favourite blushes. The perfect matte rosewood pink shade, worn every day. A review can be found here *click*.

Benefit HighBeam - One of my all-time favourite highlighting products. Great stuff. Review: *click*.

Maybelline Super Stay Powder - A new powder I've been testing. Really really like it so far, a review will follow very soon.

So, that's it for my favourites of the month! Quite a lot this time, and all great products. Leave me some links to your favourites in the comments!

EOTD March 7th: Illamasqua Never As Liner

Hi there!
Today I'd like to show you my favorite way to wear Illamasqua's eyeshadow in Never. I've already shared some swatches here *click*, and now you can see it on my eye :)
For a wearable day-time look I like to use this eyeshadow as a liner on my upper lash line. I first use an eyeshadow base and then apply the eyeshadow using an angled eyeshadow brush. That works great!
Never is really pigmented and also matte, and I think it looks good :)
Mascara used here is Essence's Multi Action Blackest Black Mascara.
What do you think of this look?

February '13 Favorites

Hi there!
We're already starting March, I love that, I'm so looking forward to spring! But first I gotta show you my February Favorites, here you go:
Hair Bows - I've been in love with wearing bows in my hair! Together with braids that makes for a super cute look, and I enjoy wearing that a lot :)
IKEA Scented Candle Vanilla - I bought this scented candle around the beginning of the month at IKEA, and I haven't burnt it a single time yet, because it already smells so good on its own! So so yummy!
Essence Hugs & Kisses LE Lip Scrub in 01 Be My Valentine - this lip scrub is a nice one, I love how it helps my dry lips and removes any dead skin cells! Here *click* I reviewed it.
Illamasqua Eyeshadow in Never - this month I placed my first Illamasqua order ever, and I got this navy blue matte eyeshadow. I loved wearing it as a eyeliner actually! I'll be showing you an EOTD with it soon :) Here *click* you can find some swatches.
Essence Multi Action Blackest Black Mascara - this is the new mascara I've been trying, and so far I quite like it. Review will follow soon!
Catrice FeMALE LE Cream Blush in C01 A Woman's World - this blush is actually quite old, it was part of a LE last year, but I loved using it this month! Here *click* is my review on it.
Essence Studio Nails Caring Nail Oil - last but not least, a nail care product. This stuff helps a lot with dry cuticles and stuff, I love it! Review will follow soon!

This concludes my favs for this month! What were yours? Please share them with me!

NOTD March 1st: Illamasqua - Faux Pas

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you Faux Pas by Illamasqua which my sister kindly lent me.
Faux Pas is a blue-toned purple creme. I'd say it's a grape kind of shade! It has a rubber finish, which means it dries to a finish of something between shiny and matte.
Application was great, it has a lovely formula which all of my tried Illamasquas so far have, I'm in love with that! I did 2 normal coats for perfect coverage.
Faux Pas was part of the Fall 2011 Theatre Of The Nameless Collection, but is still available.
I really like this nail polish a lot, also with topcoat as shown here. It might not be utterly unique, however, I think I might do a comparison with China Glaze - Grape Pop and Kiko - 293.
What do you think of it?

NOTD February 27th: Illamasqua - Kink

Hey everyone!
Today I'd like to show you my second Illamasqua nail polish, called Kink.
Kink is a deep blue-toned green shade. I'd say it falls into the hunter green or bottle green kind of category. It's a technically a creme, but it dries to a rubber finish, meaning something between shiny and matte.
Application was great, I did 2 normal coats which were enough for full opacity. I love the formula, it's so squishy and really easy to work with!
Kink was part of the Fall 2011 Theatre Of The Nameless Collection, but is still available now.
I'm sorry I again have only swatches with top coat, hope you don't mind!
I love this shade, it's one of the only few greens I really like on myself :) What do you think of it?

NOTD February 25th: Illamasqua - Vice

Hi everyone!
Long time no see, sorry for that little unintended break! Today I'd like to show you the first of my Illamasqua polishes, called Vice.
Vice is a deep bordeaux vine kind of shade, or maybe also a deep cerise berry color. It has a rubber finish, meaning it dries to somewhat between shimmery and matte.
Application was awesome, this formula is just so great! It glides on, is squishy and not too thick, I love it! I ended up doing 3 thin coats as I had a bit of cuticle dragging, but nothing serious.
Vice was part of the Theatre Of The Nameless Collection of Fall 2011, but is still available. I love this shade, it's very pretty and the formula is just pure awesomeness!
I'm sorry I don't have a NOTD picture without top coat, I just applied one without thinking :D But here is a simple swatch where you can tell the rubber finish:
What do you think of it?

Illamasqua Haul!

Hi everyone!
A couple of weeks ago Illamasqua had a great sale going on, and I took advantage of it and ordered my first-ever Illamasqua products! I've always loved looking at their stuff and am now more than happy to be able to try out these things myself :)
First of all I got one eyeshadow. I was actually gonna pick something more natural or one of the liquid metals, but when I ordered those had already sold out. So I went for this matte navy blue eyeshadow, called Never. I think this shade isn't too bright, and it works well for my brown eyes. Pigmentation is really great, I'm super content with it :)
Then I got nail polishes. The first one is called Vice, and it's a deep cerise berry shade. It was originally part of the Fall 2011 Theatre Of The Nameless Collection and has a rubber finish, meaning it dries to a finish between shiny and matte. Here are 2 coats.
The other nail polish I bought is called Kink. It was also part of the Fall 2011 Theatre Of The Nameless Collection and is a deep bottle green shade. I normally don't really like green nail polish too much, but this shade is great :) Same rubber finish as Vice, and it also needed 2 coats.
In addition to these products, I got 2 nail polishes for my sister, which she kindly let me picture for you guys.
This is Untold, a red glitter nail polish, very pretty. Swatch is 3 coats.
And, last but not least, Faux Pas, another nail polish from the Fall 2011 Theatre Of The Nameless Collection. It's a blue-toned purple shade, the swatch is actually 1 coat! Pretty shade with the rubber finish.
All of these products were 5£ each in the sale, a really great deal! :) I'm super happy with everything and can't wait to use these products :)
What do you own from Illamasqua?
xoxo, Misch

Some Inspirational Stuff

Hey there!
So I seems like I'm having some inspirational days or something, because I'm way more creative lately! I didn't do anything really with this creativity, just the feeling of it was really great :D I've especially been into fashion, fall is my favorite season for fashion!
There were some really cool things that I saw that inspired me, and I just thought I might share some links :D
The first thing I really love is the new Theatre Of The Nameless Collection by Illamasqua. Illamasqua promo pics are always so gorgeous, creative and inspiring, and I really love these! *Click* here to see the pics. Aren't they stunning?
The next amazing thing is this Chanel Shade Parade video. I love it, it's just so so cute and inspiring!

And the third thing I have to show you is this make-up picture *click*. It's by Thierry Mugler, and already a bit older, but I just love it! So so gorgeous, don't you agree?
And since I've already mentioned I'm really into fashion right now, here is a website I enjoy a lot: Polyvore *click*! You can create outfit sets with all kinda things, and you can even add cosmetics, like nail polishes! I really enjoy playing around with it ;)

That's it for now, I hope you liked these inspirations! Do you want to see more of them?
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch

Valentine's Series: Nail Art #4

Hey there!
This is my last Nail Art Design for Valentine's Day, and again, it's on a nail wheel.
Here we go:
That's what you need:
- a base coat of you choice (I used Essence pro white french)
- a bright red color (I used p2 it's hot)
- a black creme polish (I used p2 eternal)
- a white tip painter (I used essence white tip painter)
- your favorite top coat (I used Essence nail art sealing top coat

That's how to do it:
1.  Use your base coat to protect your natural nails.
2. Paint all of your nails red, use as many coats as needed.
3. Add a black line over your tips, just as if you were doing a straight french tip manicure.
4. Separate the black and the red color by drawing a thin white line in between. Use either a tip painter or pour some white polish onto a piece of paper, pick it up with a toothpick and use that to create the thin line.
5. Seal the design with your favorite top coat.

This design was inspired by this look from the illamasqua throb collection *click*. In the collection the tips are white and the separation line is black, but I liked it better the other way round. Which one do you prefer?

Illamasqua "Throb" Trial

Hey everyone,
in this post *click* I posted a link to a pic *click* from the Throb Collection by Illamasqua, and I said I was gonna try to recreate it. Well, I did try it, but it didn't really work out, unfortunately. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be! So I didn't really manage to do it....well, there are a few pics I can post, so you'll just see some impressions :) I also took a Face Chart and did some sketches before I started, so you can see what I thought about how to do it :) You can enlarge all pictures by clicking on them :)

Have you ever tried to recreate a look and then it was way harder than you expected?! Tell me! :)
 xoxo, Misch

WOW! :)

Hey guys,
today's post is very very short, I actually just wanted to show you a pic I found on the internet!
Since I don't own the pic, I'll only post the link *click here*
It belongs to the Throb Collection by Illamasqua, and I love it! It's so creative, inspirational and pretty :) I love it so much, the idea and the thoughts behind it are so cool :)
On Makeup Your Jangsara I already found a version of the look *click* There you can also find some more pics :)
I love this pic so much, and I might recreate the look! This is nothing to wear about for sure, but maybe on a lonely weekend....I'll let you know if I do it :)
What do you think of this pic? Are you getting anything from the Illamasqua Throb Collection?!
I'll see you later!
xoxo, Misch
