NOTD: Winter Snowflake Nail Art

With Christmas already around the corner, it was definitely time for some seasonal nail art. Here you have some snow flakes!

Products I used:
Essence Top Speed Nail Polish 26 Look At Me (very old colour, any dark blue will do)
Jesse's Girl North Star (bright glittery silver)
BornPrettyStore Nail Art Brush No. 1 to draw the snow flakes

This design definitely requires some skill, a very steady hand and lots of patience. But it is not impossible to do! You can always go ahead and draw bigger snow flakes, which makes it easier for you.

I've already done some snow flakes in previous years, in case you're interested in more colour variations. Click here for the 2011 and the 2012 versions.
Which one do you like best? Let me know in the comments below!

NOTD September 4th: Cute & Classy Nail Art

Hey there!
Here *click* I just showed you Essence's Iced Latte from their Nude Glam line, and while wearing it, I decided to do some nail art with it :)
This cute mani is inspired by Gossip Girl, brunch and a super cute local café. I love the light pinkish nude background with the black and silver details :)
For the background I used Essence Iced Latte, the black is p2 eternal, and the silver Jesse's Girl Northern Star. I created everything with Essence's Duo Stylist, which is part of the new permanent line.
On my index and pinkie I'm wearing a half moon design, my middle finger has a bow on it, and my thumb and ring finger have big polka dots on them.
I really enjoy wearing this! It's classy and cute :)
What do you think of it?

NOTD December 22nd: Present Nails

Hey guys!
It's time for another nail art design, yay :D This time it's present nails!
These were so easy to do and are still really fun for Christmas. I used just Christmas inspired colors, and painted the ribbon in matching shades.
I have
  • purple-gold, here it is Essence True Love and OPI Rising Star
  • red-green, here China Glaze Hey Sailor and China Glaze Outta Bounds
  • silver-purple, here Jesse's Girl North Star and Essence True Love
  • green-silver (which somehow turned light gold?!), here China Glaze Outta Bounds and Jesse's Girl North Star
  • gold-red, here OPI Rising Star and China Glaze Hey Sailor.
I really like these, and they were really easy to do :) I haven't decided yet what my final design for Christmas will be, any suggestions?
See you!

NOTD November 19th: Essence Vampire's Love LE - 02 Into The Dark + Silver To Blue Gradient

Hey guys!
Finally it's time for another NOTD, it's just so hard to find a good day for taking pictures at this time of the year! About 3 days a week I leave the house when it's dark and only come back when it's dark again...:/
But now onto the polish. From Essence's Vampire's Love LE *click*, this one, 02 Into The Dark, is the first one I chose to wear. It's a deep blue with silver micro shimmer, really special and pretty.
I'm wearing 2 coats of it, and it was perfect with that :) I like the formula and the brush a lot!
And then I decided to pimp it up a bit. Like with the last polish I wore, I was inspired by the shimmer and made a gradient out of it, this time a silver to blue one.
For the silvers I used Essence - Romeo (old version), Jesse's Girl - North Star and L.A.Colors Nail Art Deco - Silver Glitter, and did the gradient with a sponge, like I always do.
I really like it! Looks a bit like snowy tips to me :)
What do you think?

NOTD OCtober 13th: Jesse's Girl - Garnet + Kiko 232

Hello dear readers!
Today I want to show you a pretty fall polish I'm wearing: Garnet by Jesse's Girl. It's a deep red, in the Rouge Noir kinda style. It's really classy and nice :)
But the application wasn't good at all. I already wore this last year, and I have no idea how I was able to achieve that great coverage last year. This time I had to use 4 coats to actually get it fully opaque. But the result is worth it in my opinion, and it dries really fast.
Do you like this polish? Or the classy type of color?
And of course I couldn't leave it the way it is, so I applied on top the first Kiko polish from my haul I showed you lately. It's called 232, a champagne glitter flakie "sparkle touch" polish.
The effect is really special and pretty. It looks more gold in some lights, and then somehow purple, really fun. I wasn't sure how much I like it at first, but it is very special :) Enlarge the pictures to see it all better :)
What do you think about the layering?
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch

EOTD April 26th: Blue EOTD

Hi everyone,
I just did a dark blue look and I wanted to show it to you :)
It's not too wearable, but I was just in the mood to try something out, and for a party it might work :)
All I did was this: I first used an eyeshadow base, the one by RdLY. Then I applied a shimmery, metallic midnight blue to my crease, and for this I used the Manhattan MyBox eyeshadow in 78K which is unfortunately discontinued. I also used a little bit of this on my lower lashline. Then I added a bluish black to the v-area to darken up the look. In my case this was the pigment Blackstar Blue by Jesse's Girl. On my lid I applied a cream color, Nude Cream by Catrice.
For eyeliner I used the Essence eyeliner pen and applied, as always, the RdLY diamond wish mascara. And that's it :)
Where would you wear this look? To a party?
Bye & xoxo, Misch :)

EOTD April 4th: Golden Everyday Look

Hi everyone,
today's look is one that I've been wearing a lot lately! When it's getting spring and the sun's out a lot more, I love to wear something shiny or sparkly :)
All I do for this look is this:
I apply a golden coral shimmer pigment onto my lid. The one I use here is the pigment Sunstone by Jesse's Girl :) Then I add a brown eyeliner to the outer half of both my top lashline and my waterline. Last but not least I added a coat of black mascara :)
This look is so so easy to do, takes not more than 2 minutes and it's neutral enough to wear it everyday! :)
Cool, right?
I wear it all the time!
Do you like it??

March 2011 Favorites!

Hey everyone,
March is over now, and here are the things I loved most during this month:
- Benefit Finding Mr. Bright *click* - the only cheek products I used this month...:)
- p2 perfect look kajal 02 brown - used it every EOTD I did. Perfect!
- H&M Baseball/Cheerleader Jacket - I love this jacket so much, wore it all the time!
- Blue Flower Necklace - a really cute spring necklace :)
- RdLY Diamond Wish Mascara - I almost used this stuff up, and this month I especially liked it!
- Yves Rocher Flowerparty Perfume& Shower Gel - I've complained that I don't like the scent because it smells like vanilla too soon, but I actually enjoyed that this month ;)
- Bebe Relaxing Cream - it tends to break me out, but I don't want to throw it away...so I'm using it on my cheeks, neck and temples. Works for that!
- How I Met Your Mother - an awesome TV show that is so hilarious! Love it! <3
- Jesse's Girl Eye Dust in Sunstone - used a lot everyday. EOTD is following soon!
- China Glaze - Life Preserver - I like this polish a lot, I used it for my Daisy Nail Art Design *click* and wore it on my toes all month long :)

These are my favorites for the month! What were yours?

Best of Beauty/ Favorites of 2010!

Hey there!
I know a lot of beauty gurus already did their favorites of the year of 2010 in the last days of that year, but I decided to do that now, since the new year has started! These are my favorites of the whole year instead of only the ones for the month of December :)
I will also sometimes mention just brands, because I got to know them this year and liked them. Here we go, my favorites:

- Jesse's Girl Stuff: I placed my first order there in summer this year, and I really like their stuff! So pretty colors, and great quality!

just some of my Jesse's Girl stuff
- The "NEW" Catrice: Catrice changed their whole nail polish line in spring of 2010, made so pretty colors, and then this fall they changed almost all of the rest of their line, and it's so good! The quality got so much better, it's amazing! Catrice is my favorite drugstore brand :)
some things from the whole great catrice stuff
- OPI nail polishes: This is another brand I discovered in 2010, and OPI is just so amazing :) Unfortunately a bit pricey in Germany, and now Coty bought it, so the polishes will probably get tested on animals :P but I still loved it this year.

just some of my OPI polishes to stand for them all
- China Glaze nail polishes: Discovered them in 2010 and immediately fell in love! So good quality and amazing colors :)
just 2 of my china glaze polishes to stand for them all
- Nivea Ideal Finish Foundation: This is actually the first foundation I ever bought, and I love it! I expected to have to look around and try different stuff until I find my favorite foundation, but I already did :) Here I wrote a review on it.
YAY!
- Essence Eyeliner Pen: I love this one so much because it is a felt-tip liner which is so easy to use! You can create the thinnest lines that are still opaque, I love it!

love it!

- Catrice Lipstick in Ocean Sunrise from the Oceana LE: Such a pretty color, a reddish pink, which I wore a lot in summer, fall and winter! So so pretty :)
pretty pretty lip color :)
- Blush and Highlighting Products: I love it! I fell in love with cheek products in 2010, especially blush and highlighters :) Glowy cheeks all the way! :)

just one of my favorite highlighting products
- Yves Rocher Summer Perfume "Aquarelles Vegetales": Y'all know that I love love love this perfume, I've been wearing it so often and can't get enough of it :)
yummy yummy scent <3

- Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara: This is my go-to mascara, I use it all the time and always buy a new bottle after I finished one :) Perfect mascara for me!
great stuff!
I think that's what they are, my favs for the whole year of 2010 :)
What were you're favorites? I'm sure I forgot about a lot, but I remember these the most :) You want a review of anything?
See ya,
xoxo, Misch

NOTD December 19th: Snowflake Design

Hey guys!
Today's another nail art design, I'm having a lot of ideas for this season, so I change my nails every few days, and I want to show them all to you!

That's what you need:
- base coat (mine is Essence pro white french)
- lilac polish (I used OPI Do you lilac it?)
- a silver-champagne color (I used Essence Fairytale LE - 02 pixie dust)
- a white color (I used the Essence tip painter in white)
- a silver polish (I used Jesse's Girl in North Star)
- a nail art brush or toothpick to create the design
- a purple color (I used Essie Sexy Divide)
- a top coat (I used Essence Sealing Top Coat)

That's how to do it:
1. Paint all your nails with a base coat to protect the natural nail.

2. Paint some of your nails with the lilac color, some with the champagne.
3. For the nails with the lilac color on them:
we're going to create snowflakes on these nails. You can do how many you like, I always did some in white and some in silver. I did a little graphic on how to create them:
place the snowflakes wherever you want, they can overlap each other if you like that.
4. For the nails with the silver-champagne color on them:
I decided to do these differently so the design wasn't that simple. I just took the purple polish and draw one to two stripes across the nails. You can also do these with the snowflake design, depends on what you like.
5. Seal everything with your top coat.

And that's it! You can also do just one of the two things I did, I just wanted to put a little twist to it :)
Hope you liked it!

NOTD December 17th: Jesse's Girl - North Star

Hey there!

Today I'm wearing Jesse's Girl Nail Polish in North Star. I already told you several times that I love this color so much :) It's perfectly opaque with just one coat and so so pretty, the perfect winter color. The color doesn't last that long, you can already see tipwear after two days (with topcoat), but it's fine :)

Do you also like this color? I hope so :)
See ya later!
xoxo, Misch

Halloween Tutorials: Crazy Purple Look

Hi guys,

here's another Halloween tutorial for you.
This one is really creative and crazy, just right for Halloween! For this look I almost just used pigments.
Let's get started:
First apply a creamy black pencil liner (Essence black mania pencil liner) messily aroud your eye, only leaving out the inner corner.
Now you want to smudge this eyeliner. You can use you finger, a brush, a q-tip or a smudger. It's supposed to be very smoked out and to have a cat-eye shape.
Time for the eyeshadows! The black was just the base, and now we're gonna use purple and a bit of pink! Start at the outer corner and apply a shimmery dark purple pigment (I used [b]basic classic glam pigment in purple) along the outer cat-eye area. Then next to it, on the top lid, you wanna place a a bit lighter purple (Jesse's Girl eye dust in ultra violet) and next to that one, a purple-ish pink (Jesse's Girl eye dust in peek-a-boo). Use a shimmery white for the inner corner (Jesse's Girl eye dust in pixiedust). Then you want to darken up the crease. First use a grey color (Jesse's Girl eye dust in hi-ho silver) for that, and then a black (Jesse's Girl eye dust in blackstar blue). Always follow the shape you created with the eyeliner at the beginning.
On the lower lashline, apply a pink pigment ([b]basic classic glam pigment in pink) and blend it down pretty far.
Add some black pencil liner (Essence black mania pencil liner) to the top lashline, the waterline and the tightline. Add black mascara and fake lashes if you want (I don't.).
The rest of your face should be kept really natural.
So what would you wear this look for? A witch? Another magic person? Tell me!
I'm gonna do a few more looks before it's Halloween next week.

I'll see you later!
xoxo, Misch
