NOTD February 9th: Essie Marshmallow + China Glaze Whirled Away

Hi guys!
Today I'd like to show you a combo of two of my newest nail polishes, Essie's Marshmallow and China Glaze's Whirled Away, which is part of the current Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection.

Essie's Marshmallow is a sheer white polish, I'd say a jelly. It's very shiny and at first a bit streaky. It gives a very milky look without getting fully opaque.
Application of Marshmallow was good, at first it was patchy but it built up nicely with 3 coats.

China Glaze's Whirled Away consists of a clear base and black hex and string and white big hex glitter particles. There are more black ones than white ones in there.
Application of Whirled Away was good, but you do have to fish a little to get the white particles. I didn't push them around on the nail, and was left with rather random patterns, each nail unique.

I at first meant to do a jelly-glitter-sandwich with these two, so I did 3 coats of Marshmallow and then 1 of Whirled Away. On my ring finger I topped this with another coat of Marshmallow, but I thought that looked too milky. So for the rest of my nails I went straight for top coat.
I really like this combo, it looks really funny! Lots of people couldn't believe the glitter particles came just out of a nail polish and weren't drawn!

Spotted: Essence New In Town LE

Hey there!
Today I'd like to share my thoughts about Essence's New In Town LE!
This LE contains 3 eyeshadows, 1 mascara, 1 eyeliner, 2 eye pencils, 2 BB Creams, 2 lipglosses and 3 nail polishes. Here *click* you can see all of the products.
The eyeshadows come in quite bright shades such as green, purple and pink. They all seemed to be shimmery. Not so much my colors.
The mascara is a volume one, but I have enough mascaras here right now so I didn't need this one.
The eye liner has a felt tip and is black, pretty standard, but it's supposed to be water-proof. I still have a similar eye liner here.
The eye pencils come in the shades gray and black, and they can be sharpened. They're also supposed to be water-proof.
The BB Creams are Essence's turn on this trend that has been around for a while now. The first shade looked to be a little orangey, but the second quite natural, but a bit too dark for my light skin.
The lipglosses are nude shimmery shades, nothing extraordinary, but they did look nice.
The nail polish colors correspond with the eyeshadow shades. One of them, the bright green one called L.O.L., looked very familiar, and I already own it! Here *click* you can see old swatches. Maybe it's a re-release?

All of these things will be part of the new permanent line which should now be released within the next couple of days. That's another reason why I didn't get anything so far, I'll get the chance to look at it all in detail soon! So there's no need to hurry to get anything!

NOTD February 7th: China Glaze - Something Sweet

Hi guys!
Today I'd like to show you one of my new nail polishes, Something Sweet by China Glaze.

Something Sweet is a light paby pink creme. It's cool-toned and really pale and pastelly. It looks very sweet!
Application was good, I only had a tiny bit of cuticle dragging, but nothing that couldn't be handled. At first it was a bit patchy, and I ended up doing 3 coats for a great result.

I really like this nail polish! It works great with my skin tone and looks very cute and elegant. It might be a good choice for the upcoming Valentine's Day, don't you think?

Spotted: Catrice Neo Geisha LE

Hey guys!
Today I'd like to talk about Catrice's new Neo Geisha LE.
This LE contains 4 eyeshadows, 1 khol kajal, 1 set of patch eye liners, 3 lip and cheek colors, 1 lip brush and 5 nail polishes. Here *click* you can see an overview of the products.
The 4 eyeshadows are rather colorful except the one nude shade. Pigmentation seems to be fine, but these aren't exactly my colors.
The khol kajal, which is basically somewhat of a pencil liner also wasn't that interesting to me.
The set of patch eyeliners contains different black thingies, which you're supposed to stick onto your eye as an eyeliner. They looked too big for me, and I'd prefer to do my eyeliner myself.
The lip and cheek colors looked really great. All of them aren't too pigmented, more sheer, which is definitely great with the two bolder shades. However, I figured I'd barely wear them, so I ended up leaving them at the store.
The lip brush looks really cute, I like the design of the handle. I don't really need it, however.
Last but not least, the nail polishes. They are all very pretty, but just not special. I don't know why, but none of them wowed me.

After all, I liked looking at this LE but didn't really want anything from it. It's just not exactly my taste.

NOTD February 5th: China Glaze - Water You Waiting For

Hi guys!
Today I'd like to show you the first polish from my nail polish haul :) This is China Glaze's Water You Waiting For.

 Water You Waiting for is a glitter nail polish. It has a fairly clear base, maybe a bit blue. In there are lots of glitter particles, mainly blue but alsoa  couple of teal ones. The particles are of 2 rather small sizes.
Application was great, it's not thick at all and shows great coverage. These are 3 coats.

Water You Waiting For is part of this year's Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection. It is available right now :) This is a super gorgeous gitter polish, it reminds be a little of OPI's Absolutely Alice which I've wanted for years. I don't think they're dupes, but for now it's close enough :D

Nail Polish Haul!

Hi everyone!
There's nothing better than coming home and seeing that your long awaited package of nail polishes has arrived! That's what happened to me yesterday, and it totally made my day :D I'd like to show you now what I ordered for myself as a late Christmas treat. They are quite a few!

China Glaze - Running In Circles

Running In Circles is part of this year's Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection. It's a bright emerald green glitter polish, almost a glass fleck, and it flashes gold at some angles. It's super stunning, I used 3 coats for the swatches. Formula seems to be great. I think this is perfect for  a St. Patty's Day mani, don't you think?

China Glaze - Water You Waiting For

Water You Waiting For is also part of this year's Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection. It's a clear base packed with lots of blue and less green glitter. It's very opaque, I only needed 2 coats for these swatches, and the formula was also great. 

China Glaze - It's A Trap-eze

It's A Trap-eze is another polish from the Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection. It's a super interesting polish: it consists of a sheer milky base and is packed with tons of multi-colored glitter. The particles are gold, green, pink, blue and so on. When you use more than 1 coat, it looks like a jelly-glitter-sandwich. Here I've done 3 coats, but 2 were already enough for opacity.

China Glaze - Whirled Away

Whirled Away is the last shade I got from the Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Collection. It's another clear base packed with black string and hex glitter as well as with white big hex glitter. This one is a little hard to apply, because you have to fish around to catch the white glitter. But I don't mind too much, it's still really great! Here I have 3 coats.

China Glaze - Champagne Kisses

Champagne Kisses was part of the Holiday 2012 Holiday Joy Collection. It's a champagne golden shade with glitter in it, looking a little holographic. It's very delicate and pretty. Here we have 3 coats.

China Glaze - Light As Air

Light As Air was part of the Spring 2010 Up & Away Collection. It's a light slightly muted lilac shade, very pastelly and pretty. It has great coverage, these are 2 coats, and is super pretty for spring, that's also why I bought it :)

China Glaze - Something Sweet

The last China Glaze polish here is Something Sweet, also from the Spring 2010 Up & Away Collection. It's another pastelly spring shade, a cool-toned light pink this time. A creme, 2 coats shown here. Super pretty, I think it'll go well with my skin tone :)

Essie - Marshmallow

In addition to that I got one basic Essie shade, called Marshmallow. This is a semi-opaque white shade, very shiny and jelly-like, but it doesn't look patchy. Here I did 3 coats. I got this for jelly sandwiches and layerings and stuff, and it's great for that :)

What do you think of my new nail polishes? I'm super happy with each of them, they're all gorgeous :) Can't wait to use them!

Review: Essence Hugs & Kisses LE Lip Scrub 01 Be My Valentine

Hi everyone!
Time to review the last product from Essence's Hugs & Kisses LE, the lip scrub! Here you go:

Information:

• Essence Lip Scrub 01 Be My Valentine
• part of the Hugs & Kisses LE, January 2013
• comes in a little pot
• has a jelly consistency with little exfoliating particles in it
• costs 1,95 Euros
• contains 5g

Positives:

• price
• nice consistency
• the particles are gentle, they feel a little like sugar scrub particles
• it exfoliates nicely
• has a very nice fruity sweet scent
• it removes dead skin cells very well

Negatives:

• it's limited
• it might be too much exfoliation for sensitive lips
• it dries out your lips a little

After all, I really like this lip scrub! It works well for my lips, and for me it's normal to use a moisturizer afterwards so my lips don't dry out. If your lips aren't that sensitive, I'll recommend it for you :)
