Swatches: Essence Color&Go Nail Polish in 56 Got A Secret

Hey there!
Essence is gonna launch their new permanent line in March, and right now they're having the soon-to-be discontinued products on sale for just 0,95 Euros. One of these things is the polish Got A Secret.

Got A Secret is a very light grey color, and it's a creme. It has blue undertones, and is after all very cool-toned. It even tends to look a bit minty, but it definitely is a pale grey.

On the nail wheel it needed 2 coats, super easy to apply. I hope it's like that on my nails, too!

Comparison: Catrice FeMALE LE and Essence Go Snow LE Cream To Powder Blush

Hi everyone,
now I finally have the pictures for the requested comparison! Catrice just released this Cream To Powder Blush with their FeMALE LE *click*, and now I have something to compare it to by Essence! Those of you who have been make-up addicts for long enough will remember Essence's Go Snow LE from Winter 2009/2010. They back then also released a Cream To Powder Blush, and now I'll compare these two.
I'm sorry my Essence blush looks this gross, but it's just been sitting in my drawer for quite some time, and the lid broke and everything...:P

When you look at the product itself you can immediately tell that they're not exactly the same. The Essence blush is pinker, more of a true pig-like pink. The Catrice one has this slight brown undertone that makes it look more towards rosewood than pig-pink. It's definitely darker.

On the swatch, the colors look more alike, but they're still not the same.

In terms of consistency, the Catrice one is a little softer and creamier. The Essence blush feels a little sticky.
When you apply it, you can also tell that the Catrice blush blends faster, with the Essence one you have to work a bit.
After all, I highly recommend the Catrice blush, and I prefer it over the Essence one. They are somewhat similar, and you have to know yourself whether you need the Catrice one when you already own the Essence one. But those of you who weren't able to get the Essence one back then, make sure you pick up the Catrice one now :)

Review: Catrice FeMALE LE Eye Aquarelle Duo Chalks in C01 Love Me Gender

Today it's time to review Catrice's Eye Aquarelle Duo Chalks from their FeMALE LE. Here you go:

Information:

• Eye Aquarelle Duo Chalks
• part of Catrice's FeMALE LE
• mine are in the shade C01 Love Me Gender, there are two other combinations available
• the colors are a rusty bronze and a medium brown
• both have a metallic shimmer
• they are basically little cubelets of pigment that are pressed but that don't have a pot or something, just a plastic case
• they contain 7 g together
• they cost 2.95 Euros
• they contain carmine

Positives:

• nice colors
• good price
• great pigmentation
• easy to apply with a brush
• the cubelets are a cute idea
• the metallic shimmer is super pretty when applied wet

Negatives:

• they are called chalks, meaning they are chalky
• they tend to cause fall-out
• they're limited

After all, I really like this product! The idea is cute, and I like the colors. The only thing I still want to mention is that it's not necessary to have this cubelet packaging and everything. They would also work if they were normal pressed eyeshadows. Just saying.

NOTD February 17th: Light Blue Cherry Blossom Nail Art

Hi guys!
Here's so much snow, it snowed all through the last three days! But I'm getting a little tired of snow...so I decided I could at least bring spring to my nails ;) It does have a wintery touch, though, so I guess it does work for the season :D What I'm talking about is my current Light Blue Cherry Blossom Nails.

Last year I already Japanese Cherry Blossom nails here *click*, and I wanted to do something similar but with my own touch to it. So I made the branches differently, and the flowers the other way round, with dark inside.

The base color I used for this is a light blue, and it's Ice Eyes Baby by Essence, from their Crystalliced LE. I already showed this to you way back here *click*, and now I'm finally wearing it! It applied nicely, but it did need 3 coats for full opacity. The secret shimmer is very subtle but pretty, and I like this color :)

Review: Catrice FeMALE LE Cream To Powder Blush C01 A Woman's World

Today I finally have the review for Catrice's Cream to Powder Blush from their FeMALE LE. Here you go:

Information:

• part of Catrice's FeMALE LE
• called C01 A Woman's World
• it's a cream blush that turns powdery when you apply it
• it contains 3.5 g
• costs 3.45 Euros
• the color's a cool-toned pink blush with neutral undertones

Positives:

• price
• pretty color
• doesn't contain any shimmer, but it also doesn't look flat
• easy to apply with both fingers and a brush
• cream texture feels really soft, also when it turns powdery on the skin
• it lasts all day long
• pigmentation is great

Negatives:

• you need to be careful you don't overblush
• it's limited

After all, I highly recommend this blush! It's great to apply, feels super good on and looks so pretty! I'm in love with it :) Some time soon I'll show you a comparison picture to Essence's Cream Blush from the old Go Snow LE, because that was requested :) I just need to take the pictures ;)

NOTD February 15th: Valentine's Day Manis

Hey everyone,
I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day yesterday! :) I want to show you 2 manis that I was wearing for Valentine's Day, I'm sorry I'm so late with them! I know, it doesn't really make sense to post them now, since Valentine's over, but just to make it complete, I want to show you some pictures. I just had so many other important things to blog about so I totally missed posting them in time ;) Sorry!
The first mani is a Plaid Heart design. It was inspired by this *click* video by Cutepolish, I just changed the colors so it wasn't too pink.

The other one is the design I actually wore for Valentine's Day. It's bright red with white drawings, and that includes lace and hearts. For the lace I already showed you a tutorial here *click* last year.

EOTD February 14th: Catrice FeMALE LE Eye Aquarelle Duo Chalk Look

Hey there!
When I posted the swatches to Catrice's FeMALE LE, I was asked to do a look with the eyeshadow chalks, and here it is!

All I used for this look is this duo. I applied the reddish bronze color on my lid, and actually applied this one wet so you can tell the metallic shimmer better. Then I used the darker brown in my crease and blended it out. I finished it with mascara, RdL's Ultimate Volume Mascara. Super simple!

For the Aquarelle Duo Chalks I used a normal flat eyeshadow brush, and that did work nicely. They do tend to cause fall-out, though, and be chalky, like the name already says. But it still works!
I'll try them a few more times, and then, in a few days, a final review will follow :)
