My Eyeshadow Collection #5: Blues and Greens

Hey guys,
today I have the last post of my eyeshadow collection in terms of monos and duos - I think at least. So don't be surprised if there'll be another post coming up ;) Here are my blues + greens!

Essence - 29 C'est la vie
This eyeshadow's been discontinued for quite some time, but I still like it. It's a shimmery medium green, not too pigmented but still nice. I used to wear this a lot last year!

Essence - 25 Last Call
Here we have another discontinued eyeshadow, a very light blue/turquoise. I bought this when I was really young, it was one of my first eyeshadows, because I read in a magazine that this color would flatter my eye color :D It's just shimmery and not really pigmented.

Catrice Oceana LE - C03 Sea Of Green
This eyeshadow is a vibrant matte green, really pretty for summer. I used it in an EOTD last year *click*. It was unfortunately limited.

MNY - 301A
This is a shimmery military kinda color, a khaki olive shade. It was part of some LE, but I don't remember the name, sorry :/ Pigmentation is good with this one.

Alverde Baked Eyeshadow - 06 Intensive Turquoise
Here we have a baked and unfortunately discontinued eyeshadow. It's a shimmery metallic and vibrant turquoise, but it looks better when applied wet.

RdLY Quattro - 02 Blue Lagoon
This is a quad, but I'm mentioning it here because it has the packaging of a normal mono eyeshadow. It's a light blue, two medium shades, all shimmery, and a black with blue glitter particles. This one's still available, I think. Pigmentation is okay.

Swatches:
these are just from the RdLY quad
All swatches were done without a base.

So guys, that's it for my greens and blues! Hope you liked this series!
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch

Blogging-Techniques: How I Get Inspirations For My Blog

Hey everyone,
this is another request I got for this series. So now I'm gonna let you know where I find inspirations for my blog.
Since this is a beauty blog, I don't have to be utterly creative or anything, but there's still times when I just don't know what to blog about.
But if you look a little further, you'll almost always be to find something to blog about. There are a few posts that I always do, for example monthly favorites, and when it's time for one of these, I have something, and I know what to blog about.
Sometimes I just go through my pictures and look at what I haven't spoken about on my blog yet. A good idea for spontaneous posts is reviews about products you use all the time. A nice review about a permanent product that you've been using for quite some time is always easy to write. A plus to that is also that you don't have to wait for a certain amount of time to pass before you can review it. As I mentioned in my "How I Write My Reviews" post, I try out a new product at least 5 times and owned it for at least a week before I review it. With reviews about "older" products, you don't have to do that.
When there's a new collection out or a new release or maybe a change of the permanent line, I can always blog about that. That's easy, especially when I already spotted it, and if not, I can still make a post about what's new and, if it is a permanent line change, what's gonna get thrown out.
Swatching posts are also pretty easy to do, but only if you have the pictures done, or time to shoot them.
When I go to the store, I pretty much all the time find inspirations. No matter whether I buy a new product I can talk about or I spot a new collection. And sometimes I even see a new mascara, and then think: Oh, I've got one to show on my blog laying around at home!
It's really pretty easy to find inspiration for your blog, just have to look everywhere and think of what could interest your readers. Maybe you got a request, so you can do that!
The only problem that happens to me sometimes is that I want to blog about something, but then don't have the pictures done for it. It's maybe 9 pm, and I really feel like blogging, but I don't have any photos ready. And I can't shoot some at that point of time, because I always do my photos in daylight, as I explained in the "How I Shoot My Photos" post, which is just not available at 9 pm. Then I have to hope there's something pre-blogged ;)
So if you want to blog, you will most of the time find some inspiration for it.
Only if you feel like you have to blog, but don't want to, and you just won't get inspired by anything, then don't do it. Rather skip a day of blogging than writing a forced post your readers won't fully enjoy.
I hope this helped you out somehow, because I can't share any secret tips on how I get inspired, because I don't really have some ;) But I still wanted to do this request.
The next post in this series will be about How I Prioritize My Posts.
Until then,
xoxo, Misch

NOTD June 21th: Cupcake Nail Art

Hi guys,
this nail art piece is still from my birthday on June 17th, it's a Cupcake design!
Unfortunately this time I wasn't able to do a picture tutorial this time, but I'll do my best and just type a tutorial!
I just want to say ahead of time that the colors I used aren't actual polishes, because I didn't have the exact colors I wanted to use. So I mixed them, which makes the list of used things longer, and also the time you need ;) Just do this design with the polishes you already have, that's the easiest way!

That's what you need:
- a base coat of your choice (I used the pro white frensh one by Essence)
- a light blue color (I used China Glaze - Sea Spray)
- a shimmery brown (I used p2 - forever with the Essence Fairytale LE - 05 Tinka's Dress on top)
- a light pink (I mixed it with OPI Java Mauve-A, Essence All I Want LE - 03 Santa Baby and the Essence Stampy Polish in white)
- a cherry red color (I used Essie - Limited Addiction)
- a black tip painer (I used the one by RdLY)
- a nail art brush or toothpick
- a topcoat of your choice (I used Essence Sealing top coat)
That's how to do it:
1. Use your base coat to protect your natural nail.
2. Paint your nails with the light blue shade. Use as many coats as needed.
3. Start to draw the bottom of the cupcake. Take the brown polish and do a little rectangle for it.
4. Paint the top part of the cupcake with the pink. Don't make it to regular, a cupcake's never perfect. Do it rather random. The easiest way to create a cupcake's top is to make swirls and circles that are irregular.
5. Create the cherry on top of the cupcake. Just make a red dot.
6. Draw stripes onto the bottom and outline it with black. Don't forget the cherry's stamp!
7. Add a topcoat to protect your design.
That's it! It requires a few steps, but it's easy to do! In this video by CutePolish *click* you can see how to do it. I changed mine a little, but the basic steps are the same.
Hope you like the design, I think it's adorable! And it worked perfectly for my birthday :)

120 Palette Swatching Series: Upper Half, 1st Row

Hi guys!
I introduced you to my 120 Palette Swatching Series here *click*, and today I have the first swatching post for you :) It's the upper half of the palette, and the first row on the left on that. The colors are lighter blues and turquoises. All swatches were done without a base. Here you go:

1 This eyeshadow is a slightly shimmery pale turquoise.
2 This one is about the same as shade number 1, only that this one's a tad darker.
3 This contains bigger, more noticeable shimmer pigments and is a more blue-toned turquoise.
4 Here we have a matte vibrant blue/turquoise shade.
5 This is a little brighter that number 4, and with shimmer.
6 Now we have a turquoise with more chunky shimmer, and it's really glowy.
7 Another matte vibrant shade, but a little more blue-toned than number 4.
8 This eyeshadow is a blue, not as turquoise as the other shades, and it's matte, too.
9 Here we have shimmery blue turquoise shade, a little darker than what we had before.
10 This is a mix between a lilac and a turquoise color, with big shimmer particles.

Swatches:
in the sunlight
in the shade

Now this is it for this part of the 120 Palette Swatching Series! I hope you found the descriptions and swatches helpful! The next post will be a little darker blues :)
Hope you liked it!

Review: Rexona 48h Cotton Dry Deodorant Stick

Hi everyone,
here's a new review! I already mentioned this deodorant in my favs post for May, so you already know that I like it ;)
Information:
  • anti-perspirant
  • anti-transpirant
  • dry deo stick
  • called Cotton
  • promised long lasting protection, up to 48 hours
  • costs 1,65 Euros for 40ml of product
  • available at most drugstores
  • doesn't contain alcohol
  • does contain aluminium
  • you can twist the bottom so the stick comes out
  • leaves a little creamy look, but not too noticeable
Positives:
  • price & availability
  • nice, natural scent
  • no alcohol in it
  • really lives up to its promises: it keeps me dry & good-smelling all day long
  • it's a dry deo stick --> no drying time as you have it with deo rollers, and better for the environment than spray deos
  • save, easy packaging --> you can have it in your purse without being afraid that it gets open or anything
  • it doesn't dry out my armpits
  • you don't feel it when it's on
Negatives:
  • contains aluminium --> not good for those of you who pay attention to things like that
applied on my arm - do you see the creamy look?
Well guys, I really like this deodorant! It's really good, and it protects you all day long! I didn't try out the 48h, and I hope you won't, either, because you really should was your body every day.

a new AWARD for this blog :)

Hi everyone,
I, or rather this blog, got the Sunshine Award from Juntas, pero no revueltas - together... yet apart *click* in this post *click*. Thank you so so much for the award :)
Now I have to answer a few questions that belong to this award:
1. Favorite Color: This actually changes a lot, depending on my mood, but most of the time it's blue and pink.
2. Favorite Animal: Birds, because I have to budgies myself, and I love them :)
3. Favorite Number: I actually don't have one, are you supposed to have one?! Don't know ;) But spontaneously I'd say 8.
4. Perfume You're Using Right Now: I don't use one ;) But since it's summer, whenever I do wear one, I go for Aquarelles Végétales by Yves Rocher. You guys know that I love this peachy scent for summer :)
5. Something You Always Wear With You And That Identifies You: Well, I always wear my glasses, but I don't have anything like signature jewelry or anything, unfortunately ;) I like to switch things up!
6. What's Your Passion?: On the one hand, make-up ;) I'm an addict, as you might know ;) But also helping other people, especially friends and family.
7. Getting Or Giving Presents?: Giving! I love to pick out special things for my friends and family, and I think there's nothing better than making someone happy with a personal present :)
8. What Was The Last Eyeshadow You Used?: Today I'm not wearing any make-up, so I have to name yesterday's, and that was 070 Mr. Copper's Fields from Catrice.
9. Favorite Day Of The Week: Friday! There I can still see my friends at school, then have dancing rehearsals and at night I can hang out with somebody cool :D And I can stay up late!
10. Are Your Nails Painted Right Now?: Yes, I'm wearing a cupcake nail art design, which I did for my birthday yesterday :)

EOTD June 18th: Variation of the Neutral Color Pop

Hey there!
This is an EOTD, and it is a variation of the Neutral Color Pop which I showed you here *click* for example, but it's a little different in terms of eyeshadows.
I first used the Rival de Loop Young eyeshadow base to prevent creasing, and then applied the MNY eyeshadow in the color 602A on the inner half of my lid. For the crease I used the dark color from the Essence Mumbamumba duo, but I applied it with a very light touch so it didn't get too dark.
For the color pop I used Sea Of Green by Catrice, and just applied this along my lower lashline. For eyeliner I used the Essence eyeliner pen, and for mascara the Great Lash one from Maybelline.
This look's really easy to do, but still pretty for summer :) I like how it incorporates color without being too much, and I'm proud of myself for using different shades that I usually do, which are like blue and golds and bronzes :D
Do you like this look?
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch
