Review: Manhattan Loves Sexy Plexi - Lipstick in 57N

Hello guys!
I already showed you this lipstick in my Spotted post *click* for this Manhattan collection, called Sexy Plexi. Now I have the review about it!

Information:

• part of the Sexy Plexi LE
• available at most drugstores that sell Manhattan stuff
• costs 3,95 Euros
• comes in a chunky, clear and silver plastic packaging
• the color's a vibrant cool-toned pink
• it doesn't contain any shimmer or glitter, but is too shiny to be called matte

Positives:

• price is okay
• easy to apply, it really glides on
• nice fun color
• the finish's great
• you can layer it and wear it from really light to really dark
• it's slightly moisturizing

Negatives:

• due to the "glide-y" finish, the wear's not too great, it last about 2 hours on me
• it fades when you eat or drink something
• it's limited

I compared it to the similar colors I have here, and it's really not a dupe for any other lipstick I own! On the picture you can see it next to Catrice's Ocean Sunrise from last year's Oceana Collection, and Alterra's Coral Lipstick which I already showed you here *click*. The one by Manhattan is way cooler than the others.

I really like this lipstick! It's a nice color, and I love love love the fact that you can wear it however intense you like it :) It's become my every-day lipstick!

EOTD August 7th: Essence 50's Girls Reloaded LE - I'm A Marine Girl

Hey there!
A few days ago, I showed you the new Essence LE, called 50's Girls Reloaded. Now I have an EOTD with it! For the look, I only used this duo and eyeliner and mascara.

I applied the lighter shade to my inner corner, the inner half of my lid and also underneath my brow bone. The blue went into the crease and the outer half of my lid. The applied nicely, but with the blue I had a problem: the gorgeous color is has in the pot and on the swatch fades when you blend! I went over the blue area like a thousand times, because it just blends away :/ Not so good!
For eyeliner I used Essence's eyeliner pen in black, and Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara went to both top and bottom lashes.

I will be doing a specific post to show you how it blends away some time soon, together with a full review.

Book Haul!!

Hey there,
I'm now finally going to do more Book-Blogging posts, yay! :D I just got some new books, and I'll show them to you now! Here's what I got:

The Notebook is missing; it hasn't arrived yet :P

The Host by Stephanie Meyer: I've read all of the Twilight novels, and I liked them. A good friend of mine recommended this to me, she said she liked it even better than Twilight. And since I love the way Stephanie Meyer writes, I got this one. I'm reading it in German.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by Joanne K. Rowling: Yes, I already read this book like a thousand times, but I don't own the English original, so I got it. I won't review it, since I already reviewed the German version here *click*, and this one won't be any different.

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks: I love Nicholas Sparks books and this one's like one of his most popular books, so I had to get it. I'm reading it in English.

Can You Keep A Secret? by Sophie Kinsella: When I reviewed Remember Me? *click*, this one was recommended to me by a lovely reader. And then a friend of mine also told me I had to read it. So I purchased it, and now I'm looking forward to it! This one I got in English, too.

Sushi For Beginners by Marian Keyes: This book was recommended to me by my Mom, so I thought it could be good ;) I got it in German.

Watermelon by Marian Keyes: Another Marian Keyes book. This just sounded fun, so I got :) In German again.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll: Next year's dancing performance will have this topic, so I have to read the original version :)

I just love to have a pile of unread books at home, waiting to be read :D
So now I'll finally be able to do more book reviews in the near future :) I already started reading The Host, so a review for it will be up first. Do you have any preferences after that? Which one should I read next?

Also from Essence's 50's Girls Reloaded LE

Hey guys,
I told you I'd got to another drugstore to have a second look at Essence's 50's Girls Reloaded LE. And I didn't come back empty-handed. But it was not the lipsticks that I bought after all, even though this drugstore still had them. I just didn't love the colors. They were nice, but nothing I have to have.
What I did purchase, however, is another nail polish in the color 01 Ahoy. It's a creamy shiny white, and opaque with just 2 coats! I'm really happy with it, it's good for nail art and stuff :)

I already own Essence's Stampy Polish in white, but it's just a tad too thick and not shiny enough for me. You can tell that in the pics, I think.

What do you think of this polish?

Review: Alterra Eyeshadw Duo in 05 Smokey Grey Matte

Hi dear readers,
today I have a new review for you, about the Eyeshadw Duo in 05 Smokey Grey Matte by Alterra which I got a while back. Let's see how I liked it!

Information:

• is only available at Rossmann, since Alterra is their own brand
• costs 3,95 Euros
• contains a matte really light and a matte medium gray
• Alterra only has natural-based ingredients

Positives:

• good ingredients
• the eyeshadows a soft and nice, not chalky or anything
• the price is still okay
• they last all day with an eyeshadow base

Negatives:

• the color's aren't anything special
• the pigmentation is really not the best
• availability

As you can tell, this duo is okay, but really nothing special. I can't fully recommend it because on the eye the colors aren't visible enough. Rather save your money and get a different duo, colors like these are available almost everywhere.

NOTD August 4th: Essence 50's Girls Reloaded LE - 05 You're A Heartbreaker

Hey everyone,
today I'm showing you the nail polish I got from Essence's 50's Girls Reloaded LE. I already introduced it here *click*.
The color is a darker gray, that has strong blue undertones. It has a cool blue/purple-toned pearl to it, a little finer than a regular shimmer.

It needs two easy coats to get opaque, really nice. The formula is a little on the thicker side, but you can definitely handle it, there's no thinner needed.

Wear was okay, it lasted 2 days before it showed some tipwear. Considering that this polish only costs 1,75 €, it's a good deal.
I don't have any color like it, but I find that my collection is lacking grays anyway.

If you like the shade, get your hands on it while it is still available!
