120 Palette Swatching Series: Upper Half, 5th Row

Hi there!
In this episode of my swatching series I'll be showing you the 5th row of the upper half, which has mainly yellow shades. Here you go:

1 Here we have a light lemon-y yellow, and it's matte.

2 This one's another matte, and it's way more vibrant than number 1.

3 The next color is a matte, again, and it's almost as vibrant as number 2.

4 Here we have the most vibrant of all of them, it's a happy sunshine yellow, matte again.

5 This one has such a strong silver shimmer that it almost looks creamy. It's also a little chunky.

6 Here we have the same kinda happy sunshine yellow as in number 4, but this one has a slight shimmer.

7 This shimmer shade is a little more green-toned than all of the others.

8 Here we have a goldish color, but not a true gold, more of a yellow with orange and copper tones.

9 This one's a shimmery copper color.

10 Last but not least, a mix color of yellow and orange, and it's matte.

I know that yellow is a color that's really hard to wear, because it's really not a neutral color and there aren't too many things that go with it. Do you have any suggestions on how to wear yellow eyeshadow?

NOTD August 3rd: Zoya - Rica

Hey there!
Today's NOTD is another Zoya polish from their Sunshine collection, and it's called Rica.

In the finish it's similar to Apple, it has the same golden flecks. The color is a coral orange shade, and it sometimes also looks pink. I took a few pics for you so you can see that :)

It needed 3 coats, but it dried pretty fast and that's okay nice polish like this one ;)

Blogging-Techniques: Comments

Hi guys!
Today's topic for Blogging-Techniques is Comments. In the last episode I was asked by Salander to do a post about comments, especially comment approval.
I approve all of the comments on my blog, because I want to know what is going on.
There are a few things that I want to prevent by doing this: spam, advertisement and rude content.
Spam is just annoying, it really upsets everyone and I just don't want to have that on here. My blog is a spam-free zone, and I want to keep that.
Then, advertisement is the next unwanted thing. I understand that everyone who has their own business wants to make it popular. But they can do their advertisement somewhere else, not here. I already do a lot of advertising for the brands I recommend on here, and I don't get anything for that. That's the way it is when you blog about products, and I don't think that's a bad thing. But that way I can at least decide which brands get on my blog, and which not. If I would let people post any commercial and advertising stuff in the comments, it would get out of hand, and that's what I don't want.
And the last thing are comments with rude content. On my blog, I don't want to have any bullying or insulting. I don't really know about it, but I guess I also have younger readers, and this point is also for them. I know that you can read rude comments and insults at a lot of places, but my blog's none of them. And it's also just not polite or in any way bearable to leave rude comments. If you have a problem, we can for sure talk about it in a calm way, but insults and stuff like that will never help. And that's why I will never publish anything like that on here.

Since I need to approve all of the comments, I make sure I read every single comment. I appreciate them all, and by approving them, I can also immediately reply to them.
Luckily there haven't been any big issues with rude contents on here, and I'm glad about it :)

EOTD August 2nd: Catrice Baked Eyeshadow Planet in C05 Venus Vs. Mars

Hey there!
Back when I showed you swatches of the Catrice Baked Eyeshadow Planet in C05 Venus Vs. Mars *click*, I was asked to do an EOTD with it. Now I've finally gotten around to doing it, I'm sorry it took so long!

I used the eyeshadow wet for this look, because I thought that way the color would show up better, and it did, indeed.
On the inner half of my lid I used a light matte gray color to help blending the color. It's the lighter side of the Alterra Matte Duo in 05 Smokey Grey. Then I started with the Catrice eyeshadow. I began in my very outer corner and applied it wet there. That way the color is way darker and also the blue shimmer peaks out better. I shaded the most part of my crease with this eyeshadow, and then used it dry to blend it into the matte light gray from the beginning. That wasn't the easiest thing to do, because it can be quite hard to blend an eyeshadow that has been applied wet. I also added the eyeshadow to the outer part of my lower lid.
All I did then was add mascara, Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara.

The look doesn't take too many colors, I'm sure you could do it with just the Catrice eyeshadow if you wanted to. It's more of a dramatic night-time look.
Be careful when it comes to fall-out, because that happens all the time with baked eyeshadows.
I also did a comparison of the eyeshadow applied 3 different ways: Normal, over a base, and wet.

Whoa,
It's already time for my favs in the month of July! August has just started, and I have summer vacation now, yay :)

Here are my favorites:
Alterra Care Lipstick in 06 Coral - I really like this lipstick, it's a nice color for summer. *Click* for a review on it!
Manhattan <3 Cherry Lips Lipgloss in 45K - This lipgloss is really pretty, and it makes a great combo with the Alterra lipstick! Here *click* is a review about it, and I'll also show it to you over the lipstick!
Zoya - Apple - The first polish from my haul that I tried was this one, and it's jsut stunning! I'm now a big fan of Zoya polishes :) Here *click* is a NOTD with it.
Rubik's Cube - Because of a friend of mine, I decided to learn how to solve the Rubik's Cube. Now I'm trying to get quicker on my solve, because my friend's best time is like 20 seconds, and I' still at 2 and a half minutes ;) Need some practice ;)
OPI - Swimsuit...Nailed It! -  Here we have the next polish I tried from my haul, and I just love it! One of the prettiest blues of all time. *Click* for a NOTD.
Catrice Floralista LE blush in As Lively As Ever - I have owned this blush for quite a while now, but I still love it! It's such a pretty matte blush, with pink and coral :) I wore it all the time.
Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream - This shower cream has like the best scent ever, and I also love how moisturizing it is! Here *click* is a review on it.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Movie - You guys really know that I love Harry Potter, and sibce the movie came out this month, it had to be in my favorites :D *Click* for my movie review :)

Spotted: Essence 50's Girls Reloaded

Hey everyone,
when I went to the drugstore this weekend, I also saw the new Essence LE, called 50's Girls Reloaded. It's nautical-themed and I believe it was due to the beginning of July, but my drugstore didn't get it earlier. Now I can tell you what I think about it!

This LE contains 5 nail polishes, 3 eyeshadow duos, one double-ended brush, 2 lipsticks, a translucent powder and 3 eyeliner pencils.
The polishes come in really pretty colors, shimmers and cremes. I got one of them, a blue-toned gray with a cool pearl. It's called 05 You're A Heartbreaker. It was opaque with 2 easy coats, and it's really pretty. A NOTD will follow soon. The bottle reminds me of Sephora by OPI polishes, and the colors all look a little different in real life than they do in the promo pics.

The eyeshadow duos had testers and they all looked pigmented and nice. I bought the shade 01 I'm A Marine Girl, which is a nude shimmery shade and a navy blue with a pearl. The light shade reminds me a lot of China Glaze - Knotty in eyeshadow form ;) They're both pigmented and soft, not crumbling or anything. An EOTD will be up soon.

The double-ended brush looked nice, and Essence brushes are always really soft, but I didn't think it was something I had to have. So a pass for this one!
Concerning the lipsticks, they were already raved about online, and I definitely wanted to have a look at them. Unfortunately they were already sold out at my drugstore :/ I might get the chance to see them somewhere else, and then I'll tell you about it :) But I'm not sure whether I have to have the colors.
The powder looks really white and not translucent in the pot, so I was a little scared. And it's also nothing I really need.
Last but not least, the eyeliner pencils. I didn't get one of them, either, because the color's weren't too special, and I barely use eyeliner pencils.

I'm really content with the stuff I got, they're pretty things :)
