NOTD January 18th: OPI - Come To Poppy

Hey there!
Looks like I'm in the mood for brighter colors, right now I'm wearing OPI - Come To Poppy on my nails.
Come To Poppy is a coral-leaning pink with a silver pearl. In the shade this can look kind of frosty.
Application was good, it's on the thin side, but only needed 2 coats for full opacity.
Come To Poppy was part of the Summer 2011 Nice Stems Collection, but might still be available.
Here *click* I already wore it once, and there you have some pictures taken in direct sunlight.
I really like this shade, it's a very cheerful pink!
What do you think of it?

Essence Previews

Hi guys!
A couple more previews to show you today!
Essence will be releasing another LE in February, called Oz The Great And Powerful, and it's made for the start of the new Oz movie. Here *click* you can see all of the products. I love the cheek products, what I don't like, however, is that they just have crackling nail polishes in this LE. But I so need this gorgeous highlighting powder, look at that print!
In addition to that the new permanent line promo pics have been launched. All of this new stuff will be available in Feburary. Here *click* you can see them all. About a couple of products I'm really excited, such as the make-up sponge, the translucent powder and the nail polishes. Looks promising!
Here you can find what will be discontinued *click*.
What do you think of these new things?

Review: Essence Vintage Distict LE Blush 01 It's Popul-art

Hey there!
Today I'd like to review Essence's Blush from their Vintage District LE. Here you go!
Information:
  • Essence Blush 01 It's Popul-art
  • part of the Vintage District LE, Jaunary 2013
  • a matte coral blush with a golden overspray print
  • contains 9g
  • costs 3,25 Euros
Positives:
  • price
  • design (I'm a sucker for pretty designs/packaging)
  • coral matte shade
  • when the golden overspray wears off (after a couple of uses), you still have the flower print, in a matte pink shade
  • not too pigmented --> impossible to overblush
  • lasts all day with just a little bit of fading
Negatives:
  • it's definitely too light and poorly pigmented for darker skin tones
  • the glitter of the overspray is too chunky for my liking
  • it's limited
with the overspray mainly gone
After all, I really like this blush. It looks absolutely gorgeous! However, when the design wears off, it's not more than any other matte coral blush. It's a good one, and I do recommend it, but it's not like the best product out there. Looks very pretty, however :D
Did anyone of you try it?

NOTD January 15th: OPI - Do You Lilac It?

Hey there!
Today I want to show you an old OPI polish that I've owned for quite a while, and that I love a lot, called Do You Lilac It?
Do You Lilac It? is, as the name already implies, a lilac. It's a light lilac shade with blue undertones, but it's neither dusty nor pastel. It's a creme.
Application was good, this went on smoothly as it is very squishy. I ended up doing 3 thin coats for full coverage here.
I really like this shade, and I don't think it's just a spring shade, more something for every day, also around this time of the year.
What do you think of it?

Review: Essence Vintage District LE Duo Lipstick & Gloss 02 Antique Pink

Hey there!
Today I want to review the first product from Essence's Vintage District LE, the Duo Lipstick & Gloss. You can see my Spotted post here *click*. Now onto the review, here you go:
Information:
  • Essence Duo Lipstick & Gloss 02 Antique Pink
  • part of the Vintage District LE, January 2013
  • double-ended lip product with a lipstick and a lipgloss on either end
  • the lipstick is just a color without shimmer whatsoever, in a strawberry shade
  • the lipgloss has a tiny bit of a rather invisible shimmer, also in a strawberry shade
  • the lipstick contains 4g
  • the lipgloss contains 3ml
  • it costs 2,95 Euros
Positives:
  • price
  • it's a great matching duo
  • very pretty wearable but noticeable color
  • both aren't too pigmented, great for daily use
  • they glide on, very smoothly
  • the lipstick has a creamy formula
  • the lipgloss isn't sticky
  • they provide a nice shine
  • you can wear them each on its own or layered for more intensity
lipstick
lipgloss
Negatives:
  • they're too glidy, a little slippery on the lips
  • they don't last very long, especially not when eating or drinking
  • they have a very strong soapy sweet scent that I think is too noticeable
  • it's limited
both layered
After all, I think that the negative aspects kinda stand out too much, as wear and scent are quite important to me. I still wear it, especially the lipstick on its own, but I can only recommend it if you don't mind the poor wear.
Has anyone of you tried it?

February 2013 LE Previews

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you upcoming LEs for the month of February, from Essence and Catrice.
Essence's LE for February will be called New In Town, and it can be seen here *click*. It contains products which will be permanent with the permanent line change in spring, so there's no hurry to get these products.
Catrice's LE is called Neo Geisha, promo pics are here *click*. It actually looks very pretty, I like it for spring, and what is most appealing to me are actually the nude shades! Looking forward to this one!
In addition to that, Catrice has released the promo pics for their permanent line change in February, they can be seen here *click*. I haven't picked any favs yet, need to see it in real life :D
What do you think of these new products?

NOTD January 9th: Essence Snow Jam LE - 01 Goofy-Blue

Hey there!
Time to show you guys the other nail polish I bought from Essence's Snow Jam LE, called 01 Goofy-Blue.
Goofy-Blue is a cornflower kind of shade, like a light blue, but nothing close to pastel. It contains silver shimmer flecks that make it look a little like snow.
Application was good, it wasn't too thin and went on nicely. Perfect coverage with 2 coats, I'm happy :D
I really like this shade of blue! You might think it's a spring shade, but with the silver flecks it definitely reminds of snow and winter. First I thought it was similar to Essence's Pool Party *click*, but it's definitely different concerning the blue colors.
What do you think of it?
