Review: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss 131 Gold Pink

Hi there!
Today I'd like to review a lipgloss a close friend of mine got me for Christmas! Here we go:
Information:
  • NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss
  • shade 131 Gold Pink
  • contains 15 ml
  • costs 6,95 Euros at Douglas in Germany, is probably less expensive somewhere else
  • color is a medium pink with golden shimmer

Positives:

  • very pretty, wearable shade
  • it gives a nice color to your lips but isn't fully pigmented
  • is very shiny
  • slightly moisturizes
  • isn't too sticky
  • wears quite well
  • fades gradually
  • has a very great scent

Negatives:

  • the scent might be too much for you
  • the shimmer can enhance dry parts
  • it wears off when you drink or eat

After all, I love this lipgloss! I'm a big fan of the scent and love how it works perfectly for every-day looks. Really recommend it!
Did anyone of you try it?

NOTD January 7th: Essence Snow Jam LE - 03 Life Is A Freeride

Hey there!
Today I want to show you the first nail polish from Essence's new Snow Jam LE, called 03 Life Is A Freeride.
Life Is A Freeride is a teal shade, right between blue and green, and it's not too dark. It has a greenish silvery shimmer which is lighter than the base color and therefore makes it look like it's lit from within.
Application was really great, it has a perfect creamy but not thick consistency, a dream to apply. I barely needed a second coat, but I did it anyway.
At first, this shade reminded me a little of Catrice's Be Pool from the Nymphelia LE from February 2012. Here *click* you can see it. But I think that the Catrice color is actually way darker and has less of an apparent shimmer. If you like to see a side-by-side comparison, I'll love to do one :)

After all, I love this polish! I think it works well for my skin tone and the shimmer makes it very interesting and pretty. Highly recommend it!
What do you think of it?

Spotted: Essence Snow Jam LE

Hi there!
I already had Essence's Vintage District to show you yesterday *click*, and I'm directly going on with the next new Essence LE, called Snow Jam!
This LE contains 3 eyeshadow sorbets, 2 jumbo duo eyepencils, 2 lipbalms, 4 nail polishes, 1 set of mini nail files and 1 hand lotion. Here *click* you can see all products.

The eyeshadow sorbets come in the shades of teal, lilac and mint. They're all shimmery. Unfortunately there weren't any testers, so I can't tell you how the consistency is. The shades are all pretty but I wouldn't wear them often enough anyway, so I didn't buy any.
The jumbo duo eyepencils are double-ended thick pencil eyeliners. Each has a light and a dark shade, and they're also in that color category of mint, teal and lilac. No testers here, either, sorry.
The lipbalms are of crazy shades, one is blue and the other one purple. However, I bet they're extremely sheer and barely tint your lips.
The nail polishes are what stood out most to be, really great shades. White with a shimmer, purple with a shimmer and two blueish shades I bought. The first one is called 01 Goofy-Blue and it's a true light blue with silver flecks in it. This is such a pretty wintery shade, I love it! Two coats in the swatches.
The other nail polish I bought is called 03 Life Is A Freeride. It's a teal shade, right between blue and green, and also not too dark. It has a very pretty silvery greenish shimmer that makes it look like lit from within as the shimmer is lighter than the polish color. Super pretty! 2 coats here.
The kit of mini nail files looked very cute, but it's nothing I use. Could be useful when traveling, however.
The hand lotion also had a nice look, but I have no idea what it smells like, I couldn't tell what this scent is.

After all, I really liked this LE from the looks, all products work together and it makes you want to go skiing! :D I'm super happy with the nail polishes I bought and will be showing them to you soon!
What do you think of it?

Spotted: Essence Vintage District LE

Hey guys!
Today I have Essence's new Vintage District LE to show you!
This LE contains 3 eyeshadows, 2 gel eyeliners, 2 lipgloss and lipstick duos, 1 blush, 4 nail polishes, 1 top coat and 2 nail art decoration kits. All products can be seen here *click*.
The eyeshadows come in the shades gray, blue and peach, and they have a pretty pattern on them which consists of colorful patches. Unfortunately there weren't any testers, so I can't tell you how pigmented they are.
The gel eyeliners come in a set with a brush, one shade is teal and the other gray. Not so much my colors, but they didn't look bad!
Next, the lip duos. You get at product with at one end a lipgloss, at the other a lipstick. One comes in a light peach, very orange-toned actually, and the other one is a strawberry red shade. The lipgloss and lipstick are always color-coordinated. I bought the latter one, called 02 Antique Pink. The lipstick part is matte and rather squishy, not all that opaque but very wearable. The lipgloss is of a very similar shade, it contains a tiny bit of shimmer but you can barely tell that. The both work well together. The scent is like a mix of sweetness and soap, not all that good, but it kind of reminds me of the scent of the old lipglosses from the Secrets Of The Past LE from November 2009, do you remember these? Anyway, I can't wait to try this lip duo! It was 2,95 Euros.

The blush was the thing I immediately picked up when I saw the counter, it's so pretty! It's of a matte coral shade with a gorgeous floral stamp on it, it's called 01 It's Popul-art. The stamp has a golden overspray, it looks like it's gonna fade after a couple of uses. The peach seems to be very wearable and pretty for spring, the shimmer is almost too much for me to wear! It was 3,25 Euros.
The nail polishes are all somewhat boring, standard shades, I did not like a single one of these.
The top coat is supposed to be a gel look top coat, not interesting to me.
Last but not least, the nail art decoration kits. Each contains 5 different types of jewels, glitters and stuff like that. They're all super pretty and I bought both of them, 01 something g-old, something new and 02 designer for a day. Can't wait to try them out for nail art designs!
After all, I'm a huge fan of this LE! It's super pretty, all of the products look great and work well together, what else can you wish for? Oh, yes, that there's also good quality. I'll find out during the next days :)
What do you think of this LE?

NOTD January 3rd: NYE Mani

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you the mani I wore on New Year's Eve!
I first painted my nails with a silver foil shade, this one here is OPI - Designer...De Better! from 2011's Muppets Collection. Then I created a gradient on it, using a dark blue shimmer color. For this I just used a regular make-up sponge. Finally, I added "2013" and a little champagne glass on a couple of nails, using a black striper.
I think it's a very pretty design and I liked wearing while celebrating the new year :)
What did you wear for NYE?

Best Of Beauty 2012: My Top 10 Picks

Hey there!
With the new year starting, I don't want to immediately forget about the old one! So, here are my favorite picks from 2012, concerning cosmetics. We had tons of cool things this year, lots of new products and limited editions, and I had quite a few favorites! Here they are, in no particular order, my top 10 products of the year!

Catrice Hollywood's Fabulous 40ties LE Eyebrow Lifter C01 Casablanca's Highlight
You guys knew this had to be included. Ever since it was released this September I've been using it daily. One of the top products of 2012! Here *click* I reviewed it.

Essence MySkin Tinted Moisturizer 01 Light
This tinted moisturizer is just perfect for my skin. It freshens up my complexion and hydrates it. Since March when it was launched I've been using it every single, also have it in the darker shade for when I'm tan. Review: *click*.

Essence Color3 nail polish series
Here we have a nail polish line Essence released around the beginning of 2012. I love how all of the shades look great with its partner, but how you can also use them on their own. The left shades are all highly opaque whereas the ones on the right have very special shimmers. Here are some NOTDs with them:
A Walk In The Park, Midnight Date, Shopping Trip In Soho, Kiss On Top Of The Rock, It's Two Bright.

Essence Rebels LE Lip & Cheek Pot 01 Peach Punk
This creme blush came out in April, and I immediately loved it. It's a very interesting shade but actually totally flattering when worn. Love how it makes you look so fresh! Review: *click*.

Catrice FeMALE LE Cream To Powder Blush C01 A Woman's World
Another cream blush, yes. A really good and wearable one, I loved it for day to day looks and still use it all the time. Review can be found here *click*.

Catrice Eyeshadow 400 My First Copperware Party
Now this has already been released in 2011, but in 2012 I learned to love it. This is the prettiest and most wearable shade ever, and it can be used for so many different looks! I love it! Here *click* you can see swatches of it.

Balea Professional Oil Repair Hair Oil
This hair product is one I only discovered this winter, but I love it a lot! Very great care for long and damaged hair, and not heavy at all! Review is here *click*.

SunOzon Sun Fluid for face SPF 30
This sun screen has saved me this summer. Finally a good one that doesn't make you look shiny and greasy, and you can mix it very well with your moisturizer! Review: *click*.

Ebelin Professional Eyeshadow & Concealer Brush
A great brush I discovered this year. I've been using it all the time for my concealer and really love it :) Review: *click*.

Essence Breaking Dawn Part 2 LE Blush 01 Renesmee Red
Last but not least, the famous blush from Essence's Breaking Dawn Part 2 LE. A red matte shade, quite unique! It has a great texture and I like it a lot! Review: *click*.

Well guys, these are the products I loved most in 2012! I hope I forgot nothing! What were your favs? Please leave me your links in the comments!
