Review: Astor Lipcolor Butter 015 Cheeky Cherry

Hey there!
Today it's time for a review of another one of Astor's Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butters, this time in the shade 015 Cheeky Cherry.
Information:
  • Astor Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter
  • shade 015 Cheeky Cherry, which is a bright red with blue undertones
  • contains very few shimmer particles
  • has a soft vanilla scent
  • called a mix between a lipstick, lipgloss and lipbalm
  • costs 5,95 Euros
Positives:
  • price is okay
  • very easy to apply, even with the bright color
  • great pigmentation
  • feels very smooth on the lips, like a lip balm
  • great scent
  • has slight shine, and the shimmer is barely visible
Negatives:
  • easily wears off when eating and drinking
  • doesn't really fade gradually but gets a bit patchy
Here you can see it in comparison to my other Astor Lipcolor Butter, 011 Feeling Feline. A review on that shade can be found here *click*.
I really like both shades a lot! The quality of the Lipcolor Butters is really nice, they feel so good on and that's what I love them for.
Have you tried any of the shades?

But first I'd like to show you my favorites for the past month!

You guys know I love this palette, and this month I've especially been a fan of the shade Tease. It's a lovely matte grey purplish taupe shade, great for all kinds of looks. Swatches of the whole palette can be found here *click*.

Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Boost Mascara
I love this mascara, I'm now on my third bottle of it, and like it more and more. Here *click* is a rather old review of mine on it.

Astor Lipcolor Butter in 011 Feeling Feline
This is such a great lip shade! Pinkish coral, great for summer, and very soft on the lips. Love it! Review: *click*.

Alverde Eyeshadow Quad Chocolate
This month I pulled out this quad for the first in a very long time, and I've gone back to really liking it! Especially the matte shades make for a great look!

Lush Dream Cream
This is a new product I've been trying, my first ever Lush product. And I love this stuff as a hand lotion! Review will be up soon :)

That's it for my favorites of the month of August! What were yours? Let me know in the comments!

Review: Astor Soft Sensation Lip Color Butter 011 Feeling Feline

Hey there!
Today I'd like to review a great lip product I already mentioned in my June Favorites post! One of Astor's Lio Color Butters is what I'm talking about :)
Information:
  • Astor Soft Sensation Lip Color Butter
  • shade 011 Feeling Feline, which is a pretty coral pink shade
  • called a mix between lip stick, gloss and balm

Positives:
  • price is okay
  • very easy way to apply
  • feels great on, like a lip balm, very smooth
  • nice color pay-off, but not too strong
  • lasts quite long
  • nice variety of colors available
  • nice, subtle vanilla scent
Negatives:
  • it easily wears off when eating or drinking
After all, I'm a huge fan of this lip product! It looks great on and is of good quality. Really recommend it!

Essence Sun Club Bronzing Powder - old bronzing powder of mine, but I still love using it! Makes me look a lot fresher :)
Sigma E30 Brush - I really love this brush, I used it all the time to apply highlights around my eyes :)
Astor Lipcolor Butter in 011 Feeling Feline - I really love this lip color, my sisters got it for me for my birthday. Review will follow soon!
Essence Blotting Papers - this doesn't really matter what brand these are, it's just that blotting papers are very very useful, especially during the summer months :)

Ombia Light Touch Sun Fluid SPF 50 - this is a nice sun screen I've been trying out lately, so far I like it!

What were your favorites for the month of June? Please share them with me!

NOTD April 20th: Astor - 72

Hi everyone,
today I'd like to show you the color 72 from Astor's Fash'n Studio line.
72 is a bright coral creme. It's a rather dark shade of coral, leaning orange, but it's not that bright. Somehow corals never look all that coral on me, but let me assure you, this really is a coral shade.
Application was good, although I did have some issues with visible nail line. I ended up doing 3 coats.
I have no idea whether this one is still available, I fear it's not, but I'm very sure it's not hard to find a regular coral creme :)
What do you think of it?

NOTD April 18th: Astor - 70

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you a bright blue nail polish, as it is quite a popular color for this spring! I'm talking about Astor's Fash'n Studio nail polish in the shade 70.
70 is a bright blue shade, with the tiniest hint of purple in it. It's a creme.
The consistency was slightly thin, which makes for a great shine, but also made me use 3 coats so I didn't have any visible nail line anymore.
I really really like this type of blue for spring! I have no idea whether this one is still available, but I'm sure you can always find a substitute. Maybe something like Kiko's 336?
What do you think of it?

March 2013 Favorites

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you my favorites for the month of March, as it is already over! Here you go:
Ebelin Professional Make-up Egg - Ebelin's dupe for the Beauty Blender is like my new favorite thing to apply foundation with. I'm so happy with this thing! Review will follow soon :)
Ebelin Professional Stippling Brush - another addition to the Ebelin counter was the Stipling Brush, and I really enjoy using it for blush :) Again, a review will be up soon!
Catrice FeMALE LE Cream Blush C01 A Woman's World - you guys know I frickin' love this blush, I use it pretty much all the time. Here's my old review on it: *click*.
Astor Mattitude Foundation - I haven't used foundation in like forever, but together with Ebelin's Beauty Blender dupe I tried this one again, and I still love it :) Here *click* is a review on it.
Essie Nail Polishes - I loved wearing these nail polishes this month, especially concerning spring shades :) Here *click* you can see Peach Daiquiri, and here *click* Tart Deco.
Benefit Girl Meets Pearl - This is one of my favorite highlighting products, and I used it pretty much every day this month. Review: *click*.
Eyeshadow for eyebrows - For a long time I used eyebrow pencils to do my eyebrows, but this month I went for an eyeshadow which I applied with an angled brush, and I like that a lot! Looks quite good in my opinion :)
Synergen Body Butter Vanilla & Patchouli - my favorite body butter at the moment. Love love love the scent! Here *click* is my review on it.
The Body Shop Lash Curler - this is another tool I haven't used in quite some time, but I really enjoy curling my lashes again :)
Essence Vintage District LE Duu Lipstick & Gloss 02 Antique Pink - this pretty duo has a super nice strawberry pink lipstick that I love to wear during day time :) Here is my review *click*.

So, quite a lot of favorites this month! What were yours?

NOTD October 18th: Astor - 005 Hard Candy

Hey guys!
Today I'd like to show you one of Astor's current Fashion Studio polishes, called 005 Hard Candy. Astor changes their line of Fashion Studio polishes every couple of months.
Hard Candy is a deep grey-ish purple with silver and purple shimmer flecks in it. It's kinda dirty, with just slight warm undertones, a very dusty shade smokey shade.
Application was great, I had no problems and it was fully opaque at 2 coats :)
I'm a big fan of this color, it's perfect for fall! It totally reminds me of stormy rainy days :D
What do you think of it?
xoxo, Misch

NOTD August 6th: Astor Fashion Studio - 202

Hey there!
Today I want to show you a nail polish I recently picked up at my local drugstore, the shade 202 by Astor.
202 is a deep blue-leaning purple, it's a grape shade I'd say. It's very shiny, like a mix of a jelly and a creme.
Application was nice, but I ended up needing 3 coats for it to be opaque. The consistency is rather thin, and with the first 2 coats it's really streaky. Luckily the 3rd one evened it all out!
I really like this dark blue-toned shade of purple, it looks nice and works with my skin tone.
What do you think of it?
xoxo, Misch

NOTD April 2nd: Astor 133 + Catrice Million Styles LE Holo Qué Tal?!

Hey there!
Today I'm wearing a really pretty nail polish combo! It's shimmery, it's light pink, that's perfect for spring :)
At first I applied 3 coats of Astor's 133. It's a light pink creme, very milky, it looks like a strawberry milkshake to me ;) It is quite sheer and streaky at first, but it works with 3 coats as you can tell in the pictures.
Then I added one layer of Catrice's Holo Qué Tal?! from their Million Styles LE. It's a silvery pink shimmer, really pretty.
Application of both polishes was okay, the pink was a bit streaky but that's okay ;)
I really like this combo, it's sweet and girly, but since the shimmer flashes pink in some lights it's really interesting, too. Unfortunately I wasn't able to pick that shimmer up with my camera, sorry...:P
What do you think of it?

Best of Beauty 2011: My Top 10 Favs

Hey there!
The year is coming to an end, and I think it is time to talk about some favorites of 2011! Last year I already did this here *click*, and this year I'm already doing it before New Year's. My favorites for the month of December are gonna follow in the new year.
I'm now gonna show you my 10 favorite products of 2011, at least the ones I can remember ;) I'll try and only mention products that also got released in 2011, but I'm not sure whether that's gonna work ;) Let's get started! By the way: these are in no particular order!

Astor HD Mattitude Foundation - This is the best foundation ever for me! I discovered this in the beginning of 2011 and haven't used a different one ever since! Here *click* I reviewed it.
Essence Studio Nails Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer - I'm so in love with this top coat! It dries fast, it smooths every bubble, it's awesome! Here's the review *click*.
Catrice Floralista LE Duo Blush in As Lively As Ever - Here we have a blush that was part of an early spring LE, and I've been using it all the time. It was my go-to blush all spring, summer and fall long, and I still like it a lot! Swatches can be seen here *click*.
Benefit Finding Mr. Bright Kit - These were my first Benefit products, and I really like them! Super great kit for starters, and great for a natural and glowy look :) Here *click* I reviewed it back in spring.
Essence Sun Club LE Gel Eyeliner in BBC All Night Brown - Another LE product, a great eyeliner. The dark brown with the subtle shimmer is great for a lot of looks, the texture is soft and it still didn't dry up! I used just this a lot of times! Here *click* are more pictures and a review.
Nivea Happy Time Shower Gel - I like this shower cream so much and bought it quite a few times this year! It's so moisturizing that you don't have to use body lotion and the scent is great :) Review: *click*.
Isana Vitamin&Yogurt Body Lotion - Another body care product, a nice body lotion. It has a fun scent, is super easy to apply and doesn't leave a greasy film. *Click* for the review.
Alterra Caring Lipstick in Coral - This lipstick is super nice, it has a great consistency and I used it a lot of times when I wanted some color but still not too much. Yes, there's also a review link: *click*.
Essence Stampy Polish in White - Now this is not technically something that was released in 2011, and I also owned this in 2010 already, but with all of the nail art I've been doing in 2011 I needed this all the time. I think this is my most bought polish! :D
And I seriously don't have a picture of this! :O Here *click* is just a Google Image one.
p2 Profi Time!High Definition Concealer - This really was my go-to concealer, I used it every day ever since I bought it in June or something, and I'm still not out of my first tube! It's great. Here *click* is the review on it.
Well, these were the favorites for 2011 I could think of! What were yours? I'd love to know!
See you later,
xoxo, Misch

NOTD October 25th: Bat Nail Art

Hello dear readers!
Today I want to show you another Halloween Nail Art design, and this time it's bats! YAY :D
I wanted the background to be a gradient, and had first decided on purple. But unfortunately that turned out to be too dark, so I took a lighter gray. I first applied Manhattan - Gossip Girl, and then sponged the tips with that Manhattan polish and a drop of Astor - VIP Grey, which is a dark gray. On top of that I used a coat of a Essence Glitter Polish that I don't know the name of. It's just a thin layer of glitter, not too noticeable.
For the bats I used Essence - Fatal and the Essence Stylist. They were really easy to draw, you can achieve the typical bat shape really fast.
I especially love the contrast of the dark bats and the lighter background, and also that the background has some glitter, and the bats not.
Do you like this design? What have you planned for Halloween?
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch

NOTD October 8th: Owl Nail Art

Hello dear readers :)
Today I want to show you a super cute fall mani, owls :)
When I saw this post *click* on ChalkboardNails, I knew I had to do it! On her post there is already a tutorial for it :)
My version is a bit different, I used darker colors to make the yellow eyes pop more :)
The green one was done with OPI - Jade Is The New Black and H&M - Dollar Green; the brown one is done with p2 - Live The Moment and p2 - forever; the purple one is done with China Glaze - Grape Pop and OPI - Do You Lilac It?; and the gray one is done with Astor - VIP Grey and Manhattan - Gossip Girl. The eyes are L.A.Colors Nail Art Deco in Tangerine and p2 - eternal. For the beaks I used China Glaze - Life Preserver.
Hope you like this one, I think it's very cute :)
See you soon!

Collective Use-It-Up! #3

Hey everyone,
I have another collective Use-It-Up post for you! This time there are more actual make-up products in it, yay :D
That's what I used up:

Astor HD Mattitude Foundation - This is my favorite foundation of the moment, and I already bought a new bottle of this one. It's great!

Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer - This used to be my all-time favorite concealer. It has the perfect coverage and consistency, and I loved it! But apparently it got discontinued, because I can't find it anywhere near me :( So now I'm using a different concealer, the one from p2 that I showed you here *click*.

Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara - Here we have my favorite volume mascara, it's a really good one! But right now I have a different mascara to wear, so I will only buy a new bottle of this one when I use up my current one.

Essence Nail Art Sealing Top Coat - I've already used several bottles of this one, but now I've got a new top coat that I love even more, so this one won't get repurchased so far. It's a good one, however.

MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara - This mascara is the only one that's really waterproof on me, and it has a nice black color. But I don't need a waterproof mascara on a daily basis, and so this one won't be bought again.

Rival de Loop Yound Diamond Wish Mascara - Another mascara, yes! It was limited edition, and it was nice, but nothing I have to have. So this was probably my last bottle of it, unless they might repromote it.

I'm proud to say that I used up that many mascaras, because you can't keep them too long. Mascaras are always products that go to waste soon, because they can cause eye infections when you keep them open for too long.
Did you use up anything in the past couple of days?
See ya,
xoxo, Misch

Collective Use-It-Up post #2

Hey guys,
it's time for a new Use It Up post again :) I don't do these regularly, but lately I used up some stuff, so here it is:
Nivea 2in1 Express Shampoo and Conditioner
I reviewed this hair product here *click*, and liked it. But right now I'm using a different one, so I won't re-buy this for now.

Astor HD Mattitude Foundation
You know I love this foundation, I did review it here *click*. Of course I repurchased it!

Essence Eye Make-up Remover with Oil
This make-up remover was okay, but not the best one I ever used. So I won't buy it again.

Alverde Repair Hairtip Fluid
I like this stuff, but lately I feel like it's not caring my hair as much anymore, so I still have to think about whether to purchase it again.

Nivea Happy Time Deodorant
This is a really cool and nice-scented deodorant, but right now I'm using a different one that I like better right now. I still might go back to this one :)

Essence Pro White French Base Coat
I always use this base coat, it dries fast and protects my nails. I already repurchased it and will keep using it :) Interested in a reveiw?

Synergen Wash Cream
This has always been a part of my skin care routine, and it still is. For my full routine, *click* here. Of course I always have one of this at home :)

Dove Therapy Heat Protectant
I like the effect and the scent of this heat protectant, but I don't really use heat on my hair anymore, so I won't repurchase it for now. But if I need one some time, I'll buy it again :)

Well, that's it for this episode :) I hope I'll be able to do a new post about this soon, because I always try to use up stuff so there's space for new ones :D But apparently I only use up the stuff I repurchase anyway...Whatever ;)
See ya!

Picture Tutorial: Gold Fish Nail Art

Hey there!
I got a request to show you how I did the Gold Fish Nails I showed you here *click*. So I pulled out a nail wheel and the colors I used, and did a picture tutorial :) I hope you'll find this helpful!
This is what you need:

  • a lot of different nail polishes (like green, red, orange, black, white, turquoise, light & dark blue, etc.)
  • some tools: a toothpick and a dotting tool
Here you go:
1. Use a base coat, only on your nail wheel you don't need one.
2. Paint your nails with a light shimmery turquoise color, I used Astor's Fash'n Studio nail polish in 66. This doesn't have to be fully opaque since it stands for the water. It's never even, so your polish doesn't have to, either ;)
3. Then I added a light shimmer blue polish over it, the number 205 from Colors For You. I just did it for the effect and the shimmer, so this definitely optional.
4. Then next you want to draw the algae to the bottom. I used OPI Jade Is The New Black for this, and as a tool the Essence Nail Art Stylist. It's actually a dotting tool, but for this job it works fine, too. You just want to draw some algae all around, and just place it randomly. It never grows the same, so you can alternate it on your nails :D
5. Now it's time to draw the actual gold fish. I used Life Preserver from China Glaze for that and, again, the Essence Nail Art Stylist. For the fish's head you want to draw an elongated circle, and then add something like a triangle for the tail fin. I also added a tiny thingie for the dorsal fin, just some random shape ;) Do as many fish as you like, I did 2.
6. Next I applied some white to the fish's belly. I used Essence's Stampy Polish in white for that, and a toothpick.
7. For the fish's eye I used a toothpick and Eternal by p2.
8. Then I wanted to add some more dimension to the fish, so I used Hey Sailor by China Glaze and a toothpick. I just added some stripes and dots and random shapes to the tail fin and the dorsal fin. That's of course optional!
9. Now I wanted to add some bubbles to the water. First I used China Glaze's First Mate and the Essence Nail Stylist as a dotting tool.
10. And then I did the same thing as in number 9 with For Audrey from China Glaze.
11. Seal your design with a topcoat of your choice. I didn't use one on the nail wheel, though.
And that's it :) If you like this type of tutorial, I'll do more of them in the future :)
I'll see you soon!
xoxo, Misch
