Polish Finish Series: Frost

Hi guys!
Today's episode of Polish Finish Series is abouth the finish Frost.
A Frost polish has a very fine and cool-toned, most of the time silver, shimmer. This shimmer is so fine that is shows every brush stroke and is therefore very obvious.
The obvious brushstrokes don't make this finish very popular, because it is not nice to apply and doesn't look even. That's why Frosts are losing popularity and you find them rather with older polishes. By today brands are able to spread their shimmer better ;)
The decreasing availability of this finish is one of the reasons why I don't have many Frosts. The other reason is that I'm not really a fan of it ;)
Here you have one, 10 by Chresy. It's a dark reddish pink with the typical silver frost. It needs 2 coats for full opacity.
I don't have any other true frosts, it's not really my type of finish.
What do you think of frosts?

Polish Finish Series: Neon

Hi there!
Today's episode of Polish Finish Series will be about Neons. You might think that Neon only describes color, but it is also a finish. First of, into the category of course all of the "color-neons" fall. These very vibrant and extremely bright colors are all probably Neons. But what is also typical for a Neon is the semi-matte finish. Very true Neons always dry like this, and that's one of the differences from a vibrant creme. So if your polish is very vibrant and dries semi-matte, it's 100 percent a Neon.
Because of the semi-matte finish they dry quickly and are rather easily to apply. Normal for a Neon is 2 to 3 coats.
Neon colors are almost glowy, that's how bright they are, and they're also very clear colors. You'll probably never be able to find a muted neon ;) They're especially likely in yellow, hot pink, bright blue, bright green and bright purple. But these are not the only colors ;) Neons are especially popular in summer.
I only have one true neon, from the Italian brand Chresy, in the color 65. It's a bright pink with warm undertones, and it dries semi-matte with 2 thin coats. In real life the color is way more vibrant, but that just wouldn't show up in my pictures :/ Pinks are already hard to photograph, and neon finishes make that even harder...
Do you have Neons? Or do you like the finish in general?
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch

NOTD April 19th: Kiwi Nails

Hey everyone!

First of all, I'm sorry that I'm not posting as regularly anymore, but I have a lot going on right now. I'm always a little busy and I'm not even sleeping at home all the time, so there's sometimes no chance that I can blog something. I'm trying to get this under control and post more regularly, but please forgive me if I'm not able to all the time ;) I really hope you can understand this, so thanks.

Onto today's actual post: I did another nail art piece that looks like cut-open kiwis ;)
I used Chresy 72 as the green base color and then used some basic black and white to create the rest of the design. I'm not gonna describe all the steps to you right now, if you want to see how to do it, *click* here and you'll see the video by Cutepolish. Do you like this design? My Mom didn't even recognize it was a kiwi ;)

I'll see you guys soon!
xoxo, Misch

Review + NOTD November 23rd: p2 crackling top coat

Bonjour tout le monde,
this is a little review and NOTD in one post :) As I told you in this haul post, I've been wanting to try out this top coat for a long time now, and I have to say: all my expectations are fulfilled :)
I'm wearing it over a really pretty reddish pink frost color, nr. 10 by Chresy. You can see where I got this polish here and the color on it's own here *click*.
You can get this crackling polish at dm and it's about 2 Euros.
I love love love the effect. It's amazing and so so stylish and unique :)
It works really easily, just paint your nails with a color of your choice and let that dry. Then apply the top coat quicky (that's important) all over the nail. Don't go over the color again, because it dries so fast. It'll start to crackle almost immediately and turn matte. You can of course add a clear top coat to make it shiny. I actually prefer to not add a clear top coat, because I think the texture change from matte to shiny (the color underneath) makes it even more interesting. But if you do that, too, keep in mind that the polish might chip off more easily, but I don't think it's that bad.
Mini review for the crackling top coat:
++POSITIVE++
+ inexpensive
+ pretty easy to get when you're in Germany
+ so pretty effect
+ works well and easily
+ dries fast

--NEGATIVE--
[- could be too fast drying for some people]

So, I hope you liked this post :) Let me now if you tried this one out as well and I'll see you guys next time!
xoxo, Misch

A nail polish haul from Italy and a NOTD!

Hi everyone,
as I promised, here is my haul from Italy. It's just a nail polish haul, and the main reason for that is that the only brands I could find that aren't available in Germany, were nail polish brands. I've been in different stores, drugstores, department stores and so on and that's what I found:

Drugstores: Any drugstore or supermarket that sells cosmetics that I visited had the same brands as German stores, such as Maybelline or Rimmel.
Department stores: They had the same brands as most other department stores have, too: Chanel, Clinique, L'oreal and so on.

I bought nothing at both kind of stores, because the places I visited were touristic ones, where the stuf is even more expensive that usually.
But at the camping site where I stayed, they had different Italian brands, and one of them was called Roby Italy. They just had nail polishes by this brand, I don't know if they do other stuff, too. I bought one polish, it's the number 20 and it's a bright green creme, a bit lighter than grass green. I already applied it to my nail wheel and it's really good! Opaque with two coats and really pretty. It looks a bit like Essence's Check Me Out from their color&go line, but the Italian one is a tad darker and the color is richer. It was 2 Euros.

When I went to a touristic town, I found a cosmetics store that was neither a drugstore nor a department store. It sold MaxFactor and different Italian nail polish brands. I just bought three polishes from one brand called Chresy, the others didn't look that interesting to me. All of these colors were 2 Euros, too, and they are all super opaque!
Number 65 is a hot pink with a hint of coral in it, it's not a cool pink, and it dries to a semi-matte finish.
Number 10 is a reddish pink with silver shimmer, and I even applied this to my fingernails! It's almost a one coater, I wear two thin coats, but one thick would do the same job!
Number 72 is a mint, but it looks a bit dirty, as if it has a tiny bit od grey in it, which makes it look a bit darker. It contains tiny glodish shimmer particles and it's really pretty, too!

I love all of the nail polishes I got, and I can't say anything bad about them! If you are in Italy, give them a try!

I know that this doesn't apply to all Italian cosmetic stuff, this is just what I hink about it and what I got to see. It could be completely different in other places in Italy!

Maybe you know something more about Italian cosmetics! Fell free to write that down in the comments!
I hope you liked this haul and I'll see you guys soon!
xoxo, Misch
