Hey there!
We're nearing Christmas, only one more week to go!
And as some of you might still be getting some shopping done, I wanted to share my Gift Guide with you guys! I was wondering whether I should do one this year, but I figured it wouldn't be much different from the one I did last year. So, instead of re-writing it, I'm leaving you with the links to the old ones so you can pick out what you need :)
Christmas Gift Guide on Books
Christmas Gift Guide on Make-up
Christmas Gift Guide on Presents for Boys
Christmas Gift Guide on Personalized Stuff
If you think there's an important category I haven't talked about yet, please let me know, I'd love to do it now!
I'd love to show you what I'm giving away this year, but I'm afraid they'll see it on here, as some of my friends sometimes check out my blog, so I'll only be showing it when I've already given them the presents :D
What will you be giving away this Christmas?

Holiday Gift Guide Part 4: Personalized Stuff
Welcome to the last episode of my Christmas Gift Guide! It's just in time so you can do some last minute Christmas shopping! This one is rather random, just a few cute things :)
Ideas?
I'm gonna start right away with the ideas I have, just a list and some thoughts about it :)
See you,
xoxo, Misch
Ideas?
I'm gonna start right away with the ideas I have, just a list and some thoughts about it :)
- Do It Yourself - selfmade presents are always great because they show you put some effort into the present. It can be a lot of things, I especially like selfmade Snow Globes! I saw this little tutorial *click*, and thought that this was so cute :)
- mugs - this partly can fall into the Do It Yourself category, because you can get a white mug and then paint it with something! Or you just buy a really sweet one at the store, depends on you :D And mugs can be filled with candy or stuff like that! What I like about mugs as presents is that when they use it regularly, like in the morning for their coffee, they'll think of you :)
- jewelry - I already mentioned guy jewelry in this episode *click*, but there's of course also jewelry for women :) You can spend some money on either really expensive stuff, like real silver or gold, or you get accessoires, more like fashion jewelry if you know what I mean. Another option: make a necklace yourself with some fun colored beeds!
- decoration - especially for girls who like their home to be stylish and cute, get them some decorative stuff :) I'd say candles or other things like that.
- personalized stuff - things like keychains, beauty bags, cups, towels and stuff are always cute when they have a special design. Online you can find tons of websites where you can design these, put on names or patterns. Maybe some of you already know Glitzy-Glam *click*, that's what I have in mind.
- pictures - for a good friend a album or designed frame with a special picture is so great! I already mentioned this in my last gift guide post, it's linked above.
- accessoires - I already mentioned jewelry, but here I think more scarves and stuff. Really cute, useful, and you can get them in your friend's favorite color! :)
- gift cards - gift cards just always work. I already mentioned them in I think all of the other episodes of this gift guide, because I think they will always work. Choose one for your friends favorite store!
- candy - I know this sounds like a super boring and uncreative present, but some people will enjoy this a lot! I for example have a good friend who like always eats candy, and I'd rather get her a huge selection of candy than a book :D There's also special stuff, and some chocolate in combination with another present is also nice :)
- alcoholic drinks - when you're old enough, you can give away something alcoholic. A good vine, or some special drink can be nice for the right person.
See you,
xoxo, Misch

Holiday Gift Guide Part 3: Guys
Hey there!
Sorry for the short blogging break, I didn't have access to the Internet for a short time. But now I'm back, just in time to write another episode of my gift guide, this time for boys. So, let's start right away!
What to give a guy in general?
I personally find it hard to pick a gift for a guy, because with guys it's not like they all like something. For a girl, you can always give away make-up or jewelry or something. That's not so easy with boys. So there's no general thing! But I'd say, a book or something like that can definitely work. *click* here to read my gift guide on books!
What type of present for what type of guy?
To be honest, I don't put boys into categories, like "the fun guy", "the adventurous guy", "the serious guy", I don't think that always works. So rather look at what the guy likes to do, what he enjoys, because that's easier, especially when it's a closer friend. Just think of his preferences, and try to find something he'll like :D That's quite hard to do, I know!
Gift ideas?
I just have a few ideas, so I'm gonna make a list and tell you who I would give what.
These are the kind of things I would do as presents for boys. What are you giving away to your boyfriend/husband/best buddy? I'd like to know!
The last episode of my gift guide will follow tomorrow, it'll be a tad more random. There might also be a few ideas for gifts for guys in that post.
xoxo, Misch

Gift ideas?
I just have a few ideas, so I'm gonna make a list and tell you who I would give what.
- perfume - this is good for a lot guys, especially the ones who like to take care of themselves. Maybe have a look at what he wears often, so you can choose something similar. And when you're a girl picking something for your boyfriend, why not get him a scent you like? :D Also works for shower gel!
- guy jewelry - this works for a lot of guys if you pick something that works with their style. I know, jewelry sounds girly and stuff, but I'm not talking pearls and diamonds here :D Maybe a cool leather bracelet, or something woven, a surfer necklace...it's not that bad, right?! :)
- DVDs + books - most guys like to watch movies, so a good movie on DVD is a good choice. Get him something classic, or scary, or thrilling. I'd not go for romantic or stuff ;) And a good book is also never wrong, also something thrilling or so. Book Gift Guide: *click*
- pictures - especially for a boyfriend or the best friend, pictures are a cute gift. Whether you put one special in a frame you design yourself or you make a full personalized album with a lot of fun ones, doesn't matter. It's sweet, and also connects both of you, because with this present you have some memories to give away :)
- games - there are a lot of boys who like to play computer games and stuff. Maybe he has a Wii, or a Playstation, XBox 360, no matter what, there are great games for every type. Adventure games, car races, everything what a guy can like. Make sure you get him something he doesn't own already!
- gift cards - when you just can't think of something, or you don't know the guy well enough, a gift card is a great choice, because that way he also doesn't get something he can't use at all. Gift cards for iTunes, book stores, DVD & CD stores or clothes stores and so on will always work.
- electronis - if you want to spend more money, stuff like a iPod or something is definitely cool, but it is on the more expensive side.
- NOT: I'm a make-up girl, but I wouldn't give make-up away as a present for a guy. Unless it's a special type of guy, even special guy make-up isn't so cool for them, because they won't really use it. I have enough friends to know that they think it's gay (nothing against that! That's just what a friend of mine said!) or they're too cool to use it. I guess you can spend your money better :D
These are the kind of things I would do as presents for boys. What are you giving away to your boyfriend/husband/best buddy? I'd like to know!
The last episode of my gift guide will follow tomorrow, it'll be a tad more random. There might also be a few ideas for gifts for guys in that post.

Holiday Gift Guide Part 2: Make-Up
Hi there!
My first episode of this Holiday Gift Guide is already up here *click*, and now the second one follows, which is about make-up!
Who to give make-up as a present?
A girl, of course. Sure, there is guy make-up, but I'm not sure if every guy wants that, and I'll be covering gifts for guys in another episode :) Now, what girl? The girly girl. Somebody who wears make-up often, somebody who wants to try it out (maybe for the first time as a teenager?), somebody you know who likes this kind of stuff.
What to keep in mind when giving make-up as a present?
Like I said, make sure it's something that works with the type of girl. If she isn't very girly, and she never wears make-up, you might not want to get her some. Then, when you're sure the girl wants to get some make-up, make it work for her especially. Don't buy something random, get her colors that work for her type and skin tone. It's not that great to get gold and bronze when you're a very cold type, and vice versa. Think of colors she always wears and stuff like that. And if you're just a tad of a make-up addict, you should have an idea of what colors could work :)
When she's already a make-up addict, make sure it's nothing she already has in her collection! ;)
What type of product to give?
I'd say that make-up stuff is better than skin care or so, because with skin care you'll never know if it'll work for her skin. Color wise, you can either get her something natural, similar to what she often wears, or you get something special that's out of her comfort zone, like a bright lipstick. That depends on the person!
Nail polishes are a good present if you want to get her some colors. Is she interested in nail art or stuff like that? Then get her some basic tools for that. Is she a blush fan? Get her one! And if she's not a make-up addict: rather stay safe and get something typical make-up, like an eyeshadow or a lipstick. A person who isn't too familiar with the topic might not know a highlighter, a gel eyeliner or a lip pencil.
For a starter, a nice little kit of key brushes could also be nice.
I think that what would be great as a make-up present is something special you don't get for yourself. It's something you want, but you're not gonna buy it yourself, because you talk yourself out of it. Receiving a present like that, one you've dreamed about, is great.
Where to get it?
Of course, if you don't want to spend too much money, the drugstore. You can of course make it simple and just get Essence or so, but if you want it to be a tad more special, try to find a brand that isn't available in your town. That can still be drugstore, like p2 if you don't have a dm near you, and so on.
Then, if you are okay with spending some more money, department store stuff. When you get something at the department store, I'd rather go for key pieces because they're something great to invest in and she'll appreciate it, because she'll be able to use it all the time.
What will always work?
Body care sets, like the ones from TheBodyShop or Lush. These are stores where you'll always find something fun and cute, and body care is always a welcome present.
Other than that, maybe a gift card. It's not that creative, but she can at least go and pick whatever she wants. If you get a gift card for someone, it should be for a store with more brands, so she can choose. I'd say Douglas or something.
Perfumes?
I think perfumes also fall into the make-up category, so I'll be talking about them, too. When giving away a perfume, make sure the scent is what she likes. Don't get her a musky perfume if she normally always wears a light peach scent! Maybe she has a dream perfume she never got herself, so you can get it for her. But in general, I find perfumes a little difficult, because it's hard to pick the one she'll really love.
Make-up is a great gift, because you can for example add like a lipstick or something to a bigger present, or you make your own little kit. You take a little beauty bag and fill it with the cosmetics you think your friend will enjoy. It's super sweet like that!
Will you be giving make-up away? I will :D
See ya!

Holiday Gift Guide Part 1: Books
Hi guys!
Yesterday *click* I announced that I'll be starting to do a Holiday Gift Guide, and here is the first part of it. I decided to start with books because that's something that works most of the time.
Who to give a book as a present?
Of course, the bookworm among your friends, because for him/her, books are always great. Also, a book is a great present for a person you don't know too much, because when you give them a book you really like, they will also get an idea of what person you are. Books are good for boys and for girls, and there's a certain topic for everyone.
What to keep in mind when giving a book as a present?
When you're giving it to a bookworm, make sure they don't own it yet. That could be reached by stepping out of their comfort zone in terms of topics, or getting something really new or really old. If it's a close friend, you can of course have a look at their book shelf the next time you're at their place, and look what they already have.
When it's more of a stranger, get something a little more safe. It could be best not to go all out and get a very special, hard-to-get-used-to book. Keep it kinda "normal".
Get them the right genre! There's nothing worse than receiving a love story when you just read horror books, and vice versa. Just ask them about their fav books, that should give you an idea :)
I would rather get paperback books to give away, because they're less expensive. Sure, a hard cover one can be way prettier, but don't you rather get 2 paperbacks for the same price as one hard cover?! :D
What book to give the romantic girl?
The romantic, Twilight-loving girl is our first example. She likes it romantic, and maybe also not to serious. A good idea to give her is the first book of the Shiver trilogy, I reviewed it here *click*. It's similar to Twilight, and she'll enjoy it for sure. Another idea, when she likes it to be a tad more serious, get her a Nicholas Sparks book. They're romantic, there are a lot of them available, and she'll love them.
What book to give to a more thriller kind of fan?
I highly recommend Dan Brown books, I did one review here *click*, because they're super thrilling and interesting. But it is more for somebody who doesn't mind thinking while reading, because it's not the easiest stuff ever. Other than that, I just recommend going to Amazon.com or anything and just click through the lists of bestselling thrillers.
What books to give to younger people/teenagers?
I'd say something like The Host by Stephenie Meyer (*click*) or The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (*click*), books like these are perfect for like teenagers. But that doesn't mean they're bad for adults ;) Just keep in mind that these are popular books, and they might have them already.
What book to give to somebody who likes only some special books?
For freaks, that are in love with something special, like a series, there are also options to get. Think me, the Harry Potter fan. I love Harry Potter, and luckily, there are some special Harry Potter books available. The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Quidditch Through The Ages or Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them are just examples of what other Harry Potter books are available. I have all three of them, and they're just awesome for a fan :) Special books like these are available for a lot of famous series.
What book will always work?
There are a few that can't be that wrong if they just work a bit for the person's taste, and these include classics, like Breakfast At Tiffany's or something. If the person is a huge fan of somebody, get them a biography of that person. Cute little pleasure reads are always welcome, just comedy books or something really different but sweet, like 14000 Things To Be Happy About. There are endless opportunities!
And you can of course always give away a DVD to the book :)
I hope this little book gift guide helped you out! It's super fun to think about what to get for which friend, and things like books are always great presents :) And they look nice when wrapped! :D
Will you be giving books away?
Next episode will cover make-up, yay :D
I'll talk to you soon!
