Hey there!
Today I want to show you another polish from Essence's Snow White LE, 03 Doc.
Doc is a bright orange with slight yellow undertones, and it's a creme. It's very vibrant and shiny and is one of those lots and lots of oranges released this summer season.
Application was nice, the formula is nice and creamy, and it went on smoothly. I ended up doing 3 coats even though it's way more opaque, because I experienced some cuticle dragging and wanted to get rid of that.
Doc is a super fun and bright shade, I like him a lot :)
What do you think of this polish?

Book Review: The Lucky One - Nicholas Sparks
Hey everyone!
Today I want to talk about a book I just recently finished, The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. This isn't the first book by Nicholas Sparks that I reviewed, you can also click onto my posts on Dear John and The Notebook.
The Lucky One is a very typical Nicholas Sparks book, it's a love story that is enchanting and fascinating and not soupy at all, the reason that I love his books.
The main story is about US Marine Logan Thibault, who finds a picture of a woman during his tour in Iraq, and this photo seems to be his lucky charm, it protects him during his time in war. Back at home he walks across the country to find the woman in the picture, and when he finds her he gets into her world and affects everything around her. But it's not all as perfect as it seems, and there are some problems coming up.
This is the story summed up really briefly, and it's of course not everything that happens in this book. The a good part of the story, Thibault's life before he meets Elizabeth, is told in flashbacks, and they make you understand the person Thibault is. The story is full of love and tenderness and it shows all kinds of different parts of life. It's never written out of one person's perspective, but the chapters always center around a certain person and show their thoughts and feelings.
The very end was a little confusing to me at first, but I'm quite sure that's done on purpose. If you read it, you'll know what I mean ;)
A small part of the book was predictable in my opinion, but not in a bad way. I also didn't find myself having a lot of expectations for this book, I just read through it and felt with the story. It's very good to read, just like these types of books are, and it was fun. You definitely want to know how it goes on, and I like that about a good book :)
The Lucky One was turned into a movie this spring, starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling. I already watched it, and I didn't like it as much. The book's way better, and the movie's just missing all of these thoughts and character properties that the book portrays. Rather read the book!
I really recommend it for all of you who love love stories and/or Nicholas Sparks books and/or want to try a nice pleasure read :) It's a good one!
Did anyone of you read it?

NOTD June 25th: Essence Snow White LE - Sneezy + Prince Charming
Hey there!
Today I want to show you what I'm wearing right now: a combo of Essence's Sneezy and Prince Charming from their Snow White LE.
I already showed you Sneezy a couple of days ago here *click*, it's a medium chocolate brown with sparse tiny glitter particles. On top of it I added one of the toppers from this LE, called 03 Prince Charming.
Prince Charming is a glitter topper that consists of a clear base, small holo glitter particles and sparse bigger blue hex particles. The holo particles show a scattered holo effect in direct sunlight.
Application of Prince Charming was great, I didn't have to push around the particles and it also wasn't too thick to apply.
Even removal was okay, it didn't cause as many problems as most glitter polishes :)
I really like the combination of Sneezy and Prince Charming, they look really cute together :)
What do you think of it?

Spotted: Essence Reading For Boarding LE
Hey everyone!
Yesterday I found Essence's Ready For Boarding LE at out local drugstore. It's themed around the topic traveling.
This LE contains 1 beauty bag, 2 double-ended eye pencils, 2 lip and cheek cremes, 5 nail polishes, 1 base coat, 1 eyeshadow palette and hand&body wipes. Here *click* you can see an overview of the products.
The beauty bag is really cute in the style of a postcard, and if I had needed one, I would have gotten it. But I don't need it that badly :D
The double-ended eye pencils are nice colors, they're light and wearable. But I do think that you could get these colors with other brands as well, or in the permanent line.
The lip and cheek cremes are both really vibrant shades! I got the berry pink one, called 01 Sending You Kisses. It's a matte color, and very cool-toned. Pigmentation is great, and I can't wait to test it :)
The nail polishes are all pretty colors, but a bit too pastel-toned for my liking. I got the denim blue shade, it's a very purple-leaning creme, and it's called 04 Via Airmail. Swatch is 2 coats.
The base coat is one that is supposed to enable you to peel of your nail polish in one piece. That is not good for your nails, and I have no idea why they do a product like that! But I'm still gonna google for reviews, because I'm curious who tried it :D
The eyeshadow palette is really pretty and I actually managed to take a picture of the swatches I made at the store! I really liked some of the shades, but not enough to buy the whole thing. But take a look at it, pigmentation is really good and the colors are pretty :)
Last but not least, the hand&body wipes. Theoretically a nice idea, but nothing I need.
After all, I'm not utterly smitten but it is a nice LE.

NOTD June 21st: Essence Snow White LE - 05 Sneezy
Hi there!
Today I want to show you the first of the polishes I already shared yesterday, and that is Sneezy from Essence's Snow White LE. Here *click* you can read the post on this LE.
Sneezy is a warm medium brown, looking a little like milk chocolate, and it contains fine silver glitter particles. The glitter particles are really tiny, but it's not really a shimmer, so I call it glitter. They're also not that dense, you have to have a look at the pictures to see what I mean.
Application was nice, the brush on these ones is really good and the formula is squishy and not too thick. The glitter particles also don't cause any application problems.
For my ring finger I decided to do an accent nail and used one of the nail art stickers that are also part of this LE. Matching the polish, I chose Sneezy as the dwarf to go on my nail. He's super cute :)

Spotted: Essence Snow White LE
Hey guys!
When I went to the drugstore yesterday I saw Essence's new LE, called Snow White. It's a team-up with Disney.
This LE contains 8 regular nail polishes, 3 special effect toppers, 1 set of nail stickers and 1 nail file. Here *click* you can see the promo pics.
As you can tell, this LE only contains nail stuff. For my birthday a friend got me some of the stuff from this LE, so in the end I got more polishes than I had planned to :) So cool!
The 8 regular nail polishes are 1 big red one for Snow White, and 7 dwarfs, each color corresponding to the dwarf it's named after. Some colors contain a shimmer, some are cremes. For my birthday, I received 03 Doc, a bright orange creme. It's a little lighter than a true bight orange, but it's super fun and pretty. On the nail wheel it barely needed a second coat, it applied greatly.
The other one I got is 05 Sneezy. Sneezy is a medium milk chocolate brown with a special silver glitter, really pretty. It reminds me a little of OPI Wooden Shoe Like To Know *click*, but they're definitely not the same because the shimmer is different. My swatch is 2 coats.
The special effect toppers are named after 3 more leading characters of Snow White. I own 2 of them, and the first one is 01 Evil Queen. The Evil Queen is a polish consisting of a clear base and big purple hex glitter particles. It's really pretty and was nice to apply, and I think it would be great for layering. Here you can see 2 coats.
The other special effect topper I got is 03 Prince Charming. He's again a clear base and contains small round holo particles and bigger blue hex ones. It's super stunning! My swatch is 2 coats, and I'm sure it would be great as a topper :)
The nail stickers are really adorable, and I'm so glad I also got them for my birthday :) I love them! They're called 01 Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho...
Last but not least, the nail file: cute but nothing I needed.
After all, I like this LE a lot more than I expected! It's super adorable, the whole concept's great, and I can't wait to wear all the stuff I was given :)

Preview for July
Hey everyone!
Just a few days ago the promo pics of this new LE by Essence showed up, so I decided to share them with you. The LE is called Miami Roller Girl and you can see the pictures here *click*. It contains all kinds of bright shades, especially yellow and orange. That is really fitting for summer, but I'm sure it's too bright for a lot of people. So far I'm undecided whether I think it's awesome or just too much, I guess I have to see it at the store.
What do you think of it?
And do you know about any other Essence or Catrice LEs for July so far? I didn't see any previews other than this one! Did you?

NOTD June 18th: Manhattan Loves RockTopia - Hippie Yeah!
Hi guys!
Today I want to show you a nail polish that has been waiting a little to be worn :D I got Manhattan's Hippie Yeah from their Manhattan Loves RockTopia LE a few weeks ago and already talked about it here *click*.
Hippie Yeah is a muted sea green with blue undertones, and it's very gray-toned. It also has a subtle silver shimmer, but that isn't apparent other than in direct sunlight.
Application was nice, like a creme that is a little thicker. But no problems whatsoever, it was perfectly opaque with 2 coats! I didn't expect it to be this opaque, especially since it's a light shade, but it has perfect coverage :) In the pictures I'm wearing 2 coats as well as base and top coat.
The closest match to it in my collection is Essence's Mojito Green from their Soul Sista LE, and you can find a comparison of the two when you click the link above.
I like this color a lot, I think it could be worn year-round :) On me it looks a lot bluer than it does in the bottle, but that's okay with me :D

Vacation Series: What To Take With You
Hey everyone!
Today I want to continue my Vacation Series. In this episode I'll be talking about what to take with you on vacation!
First of all, you need to be aware of the climate of the country you're going to. So check out some information on humidity and temperature before you, and then pack your stuff accordingly.
Since it's a very popular vacation destination, I'll talk about what to take with you when you're visiting the beach in a warm region.
In general, I think that on vacation at the beach, less is more in terms of cosmetics. It'll be warm, and you rather want to look natural than wear a lot of heavy stuff on your face! Make sure to go for key products you can rely on, and that can be used for a lot of different looks. When you travel you don't have a lot of space most of the time, so try to narrow them down to the really important things. Let's get into what to pack exactly!
First of all, the most important stuff: sun screen. Here *click* I already talked about how important it is, and you just must not forget to take it with you! Then it's also very important to take a good moisturizer with you! I always take my regular skin care routine products with me, then my skin won't have problems because it's used to the products. Other than that, you'll need shower things to take care of your body. A good shower gel and body lotion will do, and if you have to shave, you can use your shower gel instead of taking an extra shaving cream. That's about it concerning care products!
To take care of your hair, pack something that is caring and cleansing nicely. If you have to be quick, you can go for a 2in1 product. I don't think it's necessary to pack a lot of extra products, you can do masks and use leave-ins when you're back.
Now, concerning make-up: like I already said, less is more. For your face, take either a light foundation or a tinted moisturizer so you won't sweat as much. Go for a mattifying powder as well to reduce shine. Mascara is always good, and maybe you even want to get a waterproof one to use all day. I'd recommend taking a nice blush, and a good idea for that is cream blush. You don't necessarily have to pack a brush for it, and you can use it on your lips as well! The last thing I'd take is lipgloss, it can always be worn.
If you want to go out at night, I'd maybe also take an eyeliner with me. Eyeshadow can be nice, too, but that would be mean packing brushes and different colors/palettes and an eyeshadow base and that is a lot of stuff!
You also really don't need to pack a whole lot of colors! A friend of mine once packed 5 colors of blush for a 3-day-trip, in case she might be in the mood for one of the colors. That's crazy, it's fully okay to wear 1 shade of blush or lipstick for a couple of days!
The last thing to keep in mind is the way you pack your stuff, because when you are in a hot country, chances are that some products might melt, and you want to avoid that.
What kind of cosmetics do you pack when you go on vacation?
xoxo, Misch

NOTD June 15th: Kiko - 300
Hey guys!
Today I want to show you another polish I got in Italy, 300 by Kiko.
300 is one of those blue-green-turquoise mermaid kind of colors, super pretty :) It has a fine shimmer and a few tiny glitter particles. It looks glowy and deep and pretty :)
Application was great, just like with any other Kiko polish I own. They're all just awesome! For this one I ended up doing 3 thin coats because it was a little patchy after the second one, but that was no problem for me. It glided on really nicely :)
I love those blue green shades, and this one is special with the almost metallic shimmer and the little glitter particles. But somehow I like it better in the bottle than on my nails...it's pretty, but it's not the best shade for my skin tone in my opinion. Doesn't matter, I'll still wear it :D
What do you think of it?

Swatches: Essence MySkin Tinted Moisturizer in Medium/Dark
Hey everyone!
When I got back from my vacation, I was really way tanner than I normally am. Unfortunately a part of that has already faded, but you can still tell I spent some time in the sun. So with my tan I needed a new shade of foundation for my face, my old one really was way too light! That's why I stopped at the local drugstore and just picked up the darker version of Essence's MySkin Tinted Moisturizer. I figured a tinted moisturizer would be enough for the summer, and since I love the light version, I wanted to give the dark one a try.
Now, the bottle says it's for medium to dark skin tones, and it really is dark! And also very warm toned, I'd make sure to check the shade if you want to get it.
In the pictures you can see it compared to the lighter version, and the difference is really apparent.
This version actually is too dark for me, even with my tan skin, but I found a good solution: I just mix the light and the dark moisturizer the way I need it! That works perfectly for me, and I'm really happy I can create my own customized shade of tinted moisturizer :D
I already wrote a review about the light one, which can be found here *click*. The dark version only differs in terms of color, so there won't be an additional review.
Do you get darker shades of foundation during the summer?
xoxo, Misch

NOTD June 12th: Stillday - 38
Hey there!
Today I want to show you a nail polish I picked up during my vacation in Italy. It's the color 38 from a brand called Stillday and it's made in Italy.
38 is very dark blackened blue creme. It's very very dark, sometimes you can hardly tell it's blue. I thought it was a jelly, but when you apply it you can tell that it's actually more of a creme.
Application was great, it was already pretty opaque with 1 coat, but I did a second one to correct little mistakes I made. The formula is nice and creamy, but you gotta be really careful that you don't mess it up. It's super hard to correct little mistakes afterwards, so do you best with the application!
In the pictures I'm wearing 2 coats as well as base and top coat.
Now, I already removed this, and let me tell you, it was horrible. I don't think I ever had a polish that stained my hands as much! It smears everywhere, and that's also what makes cleanup or touch ups really hard! You want to be patient with it, removal will take a while.
Bottom line, I'm not utterly smitten with this polish, but that's only due to the bad removal. The polish itself is great, and for 1 Euro I really can't complain.
What do you think of it?
xoxo, Misch

Spotted: Catrice Coolibri
Hey there!
Today I want to talk about Catrice's latest LE, called Coolibri. It's a summer-themed one!
Today I want to talk about Catrice's latest LE, called Coolibri. It's a summer-themed one!
This LE contains 1 blush jelly, 1 lip balm, 4 eyeshadow sticks, 1 eyeliner, 4 lipglosses and 5 nail polishes. Here *click* you can see the promo pics.
The blush jelly comes in a little pot and it's a red color. It's super duper sheer and thin and jelly-like, you have to feel this consistency :D Unfortunately a lot of bloggers wrote negative reviews about it, saying it's too sheer, so I left it at the store.
The lip balm is just a regular light pink lip balm that is really sheer. The packaging of it is so so cute, I love the print and everything! I seriously was tempted to buy it, but not for the price of 5 Euros. That's a little too much for a lip balm in my opinion!
The eyeshadow sticks are all shimmery colors, and they are really fun for summer. They all seemed to be very pigmented, and I got myself the champagne colored one, called C01 Precious Nectar. It's opaque and super pretty! Can't wait to wear it!
The eyeliner is a golden one, not so much my taste, but matching for a summer LE.
The lipglosses are all very sheer again. They looked nice, but I have enough sheer glosses...the blue one doesn't look blue on your lips, btw, it's one of those glosses that make your teeth look whiter because of the blue tones.
The nail polishes are all bright and fun colors, as far as I know all with a shimmer. I bought one of them, a really pretty green with a glowy shimmer. It tends to have some brushstrokes, but it's opaque with 2 coats and I like it a lot :) It's called C05 Virgin Forest.
After all, a nice and colorful LE! I would have bought more things if I didn't tell myself to be reasonable :D
What do you think of it?
