New Sigma Brushes! E30 and F40

I'm kind of trying to post pictures of a couple of new things I got in the time of my blogging absence, so that's where all of these posts are coming from.

So quite some time ago I did some shopping at Sigma Beauty, and ordered the following two brushes:
The first brush I bought is an eye brush, called Sigma E25. It's a basic eyeshadow blending brush. It has white bristles and is a tiny bit flat. It is perfect for working with colours in your crease, because it is not too big so it can help you add definition to your eye. It does, at the same time, blend your eyeshadow, so you can achieve applying a colour to your crease and blending it out in one step.

The other brush I bought is a face brush, the Sigma F40. It's an angled blush or contour brush, nicely shaped for the cheek bone area. It's very fluffy but still helps to place your cheek products percisely and not all over the place. Blending with it is also very simple to do.

For every order over 30$, Sigma gives you a travel size of the E25 as a gift. I received one, and even though I'd also bought a full size version of it in this order, it's never wrong to have a variety of blending brushes. It's really a great gift! The brush is identical with the regular one, only that its handle is shorter. But it works equally well!

Sigma brushes are always my favourite to use and to buy, because they have great quality and don't cost a fortune.
Do you guys have any brushes by them?

October 2011 Favorites

Hello there!
It's already November guys, can you believe it?! It's getting really cold, time to curl up inside the house with some hot chocolate and a good movie, while it is storming outside :) I love that!
But now let's get into my favs for the month of October :)
Alverde Baked Blush in Peach - I really love this blush, especially for the colder season. It's so so pretty, and I wore it every day this month :)
Catrice Urban Baroque LE Illuminating Powder in C01 Masquerade Ball - This is such a great but subtle highlighter, and I used it all the time. I love it!
Essence Metallics LE Eyeshadow Quad in 03 Copper Rulez - This quad is already a year old, and I still love it! For Essence eyeshadows, the quality is really great, and the gel eyeliner didn't dry out yet! I used it on a every day basis :)
Essence Winter Edition Hand Lotion in Raspberry Chocolate Cookie - I love this year's hand lotion edition from Essence, and this scent is just great when it's colder :)
Armani Aqua di Gioia Perfume - I only have a sample of this, but I used it all the time because I like the scent a lot :) Unfortunately I can't afford the full version, but whatever.
Sigma Flat Top Kabuki F80 Brush - This is such a great brush, and I use it to apply my foundation. I've been using my fingers for that the past months, and I was so surprised by what a great result you can get with this brush :) I love it!
Manhattan Sexy Plexi LE Lipstick in 57N - So yes, this is not exactly a fall-like lipstick, but I love it nonetheless. For school it was perfect when I just used it lightly, and that's why I reached for it so often :)

So these were my favorites :) What were yours? Like every month, I'd like to see links to your posts :)
I'll see you later!

My Foundation Routine

Hello there!
After showing you my Hair routine and my Skincare routine, I am gonna show you another routine of mine: my foundation routine!
I have a few pimples and breakouts and all that kind of stuff, so I go for medium to high coverage. I don't do this whole face stuff all the time, but for example when I go out I want my face to look even. Before I do any step of this routine, I wash my face and apply my moisturizer. The steps I do are shown in this skincare routine post *click*

1. The first thing I do is apply my foundation all over my face, making it even. The foundation I use is the Astor Mattitude HD Foundation in the color 02 Porcelain (*click* for a review). I use either my fingers, the Beliance foundation brush or, most perferably, the Sigma F80 Brush *click for a review*, depending on what I'm on the mood for.

2. I do have dark circles and blemishes and stuff, so in case the foundation didn't cover them up, I use a concealer. It's the Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer and I'm in the shade 04 rose beige, at least right now. Sometimes I switch it up with the Essence 3in1 concealer, in case I need a color corrector. *Click* here to get to know more about  a color corrector!
I apply it with either my fingers or the Beliance eyeshadow brush which is actually really good to apply concealer.

3. Then I set my face with my favorite powder, the CadeaVera powder in beige, and for that I use a powder brush from the Rossmann line For Your Beauty. I don't apply a lot of powder because I don't go for any more coverage, I just want to set it. I try to really work it into my skin and connect with the foundation, and that works really well with that brush, because it isn't so dense, so it gives more of a natural finish.

4. After that I apply my blush, bronzer and/or highlighter if I want to, and that's it.

What do you do for your foundation routine? I'd like to know!

Review: Astor HD Mattitude Foundation

Hi guys,
even though I already found a foundation I like, the Nivea Ideal Finish Foundation which I reviewed here *click*. But since this one'll be discontinued soon and after I read some many good reviews about the Astor foundation on several blogs, I had to try it out :)

Information:
- called Astor HD Mattitude Foundation
- costs 8.99 Euros at most drugstores
- contains 30 ml
- has SPF 22
- is supposed to mattify your face really well and stay up to 16 hours
- available in 6 different shades

click onto the pic to enlarge it :)
Scent, color, coverage & consistency:
The foundation has a very strong scent, kinda floral and perfume-y. It's not really that great, and I wouldn't say it smells yummy, but for me it's okay. I'd say you smell it at the store, just in case you are sensitive to scents. There are quite a few colors available, pretty light ones, too. I'm in the shade 02 porcelain, which is darker than the Nivea Ideal Finish Foundation 02 Nude that I used before. It's a tiny bit too dark for me, but it actually adapts to my skin well. The coverage is not totally full, but it still covers a lot. I'd say it's full to medium coverage.
This is a liquid foundation, so the consistency is - well - liquid. But it's not runny or too thin.

right out of the pump
slightly applied
totally blended out
Application with the Beliance Foundation Brush:
I do like it this way, but it's my least favorite way to apply it from these 3 ways. It applies it nice and evenly, so it's fine :) The coverage is medium that way.

Application with my bare fingers:
It's very easy to apply it evenly with my fingers, you can blend it into your skin easily. But applying it this way means the coverage will be a little lighter, at least on me.

Application with the Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki F80 brush:
My favorite way :) Very easy to blend, and I especially like this brush, so it's perfect! Here is a review on it, *click*. The coverage is medium that way.

Finish & Wear:
It promises to stay for 16 hours and to minimize your pores. I can't say that it really lasts 16 hours, but it stays
pretty long, and when I apply it at 7 am and get home at 3 pm, it's still almost flawless, so really great last :)
It does minimize my pores a little bit, but you can only notice that when you look up close.
Since it's a mattifying foundation, it's not really suited for dry skin. I'd recommend to apply a good moisturizer before you add your foundation. It easily makes dry spots more visisble, so it's maybe not the best for dry skin. It has a very matte finish, even powdery, so I don't find you need to set it with powder.

Bottom Line:
I like this foundation a lot! I think I prefer it over the Nivea foundation I used to use. The finish and the wear is great, and I think it's just awesome!

Did you try out this foundation, too?
I'll see you later!

Review: Sigma F80 Brush

Hey guys :)
I got this Sigma brush a while back and I want to tell you what I think about it!

Information:
- called Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki F80 (the old numbering is SS197)
- available at sigmabeauty.com for 16 $
- has synthetic bristles
- the handle is pretty thick
- the bristles are black on the bottom and white on the top
- it's a face brush, made for both liquid and powder products

Application with powder products:
It's really nice, easy to blend and you don't need a lot of product. It blends it in so nicely and I love that way of application. You can buff the powder into your face so well and it connects with your foundation, making your face appear more flawless.

Application with liquid products:
As nice as with powders! Since the bristles are synthetic, it doesn't absorb any product, so you don't need a lot and won't waste anything! The surface is getting almost flawless, depends on your skin, of course ;) It blends it in so well, I love it too!

Washing the brush:
I wash my brushes about once a week with baby shampoo, and that's what I did with this one when I used it with powder products. When I used it for foundation, I washed it after every use. It lathers really well with the baby shampoo I use and gets totally clean! It didn't lose any hair so far, too :) Unfortunately it takes a while for it to dry, but that's okay for me, because I always let it dry over night.
Brush cleansing blog post is coming up some time soon :)

the hair is really dense
Bottom Line:
I love love love it! It perfect for any kind of application, so I highly recommend it!

Does anyone own this brush as well? Do you love it as much as I do?
Hope you liked the review!
xoxo, Misch

That's what happens when I visit dm: I just can't leave the store without buying something!

Hi guys,
haul time!!
as you might have guessed from the title and as I promised you yesterday, here's my haul :) I didn't find the LEs that interesting, but oh well... The haul's not too big this time, but still...;)
That's what I got:

- Alverde Eyeshadow brush: this one is new in their line and I wanted to try it out :) So far I like it, it picks up the color pretty well :)
- Alverde Eyeliner brush: I already own this one, but I got a second one to just it as a nail art brush. Let's see if it'll work!
- Alverde Zauberwald LE eyeshadow in Magic Spirit: When this LE came out in August, I wanted some things but never got any because they were sold out. Now I found this single last eyeshadow, yay! Like it, the color is a greenish brown.
- p2 lipliner in 03 business lady: this is a bright red color, exactly the thing I was going for :) I'm not sure whether I like the red lips look yet, but I'll try it out :)
- MNY blush in 301: In a video by xKarenina on Youtube she mentioned this blush and said she thought it was like a better version of Nars Orgasm Blush. That's why I had to have it! It like the color, it's a peachy pink with gold shimmer :) so pretty!

Also, my Sigma order that I placed on Black Friday because of the free shipping costs arrived today! Yay!
Sigma E30 and F80 Brushes
I got the Sigma Flat Top Sythetic Kabuki F80 and the Sigma Pencil E30. They're both great, I like them a lot! I already washed them and they did not lose one single hair! Amazing, they're so good quality!

And that's it! Do you own any of the things I bought?
I'll see you guys later!
xoxo, Misch
