Book-Blogging #2: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K.Rowling

Hey everyone!
Today I have another book review for you guys :)
First I want to talk about Harry Potter in general, and then get into the actual review for the book.
I love Harry Potter books so much, because it's all so amazing. I admire Joanne K. Rowling for being that creative and thinking of these huge things and creating a whole new world on this that got so famous! Everything's thought out so well, everything's intertwined and then turns out to be different in really life, partly really complicated. I think it's still good to understand and I really admire J.K.Rowling for being that amazing! <3
I've always been loving these books, and I started reading them when I was like 8 years old. I had to wait for some of the novels, but not all of them. And I've loved them every since, there's never been a huge disappointment or anything, I even used to play Harry Potter scenes with my friends :) When we were in elementy school we played Harry Potter all the time, and I was always Hermione. Back then, I was totally convinced that when I turned 11, I would get a letter from Hogwarts and be a witch one day ;) Unfortunately, the letter didn't come^^ ;)

Now onto Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the German title is Harry Potter und die Heiligtuemer des Todes). It's -of course- by Joanne K. Rowling, and the 7th and last novel in the Harry Potter Series. I already told you in this favs post from January that I love love love Harry Potter, and this is pretty much my favorite book from the series. It's been turned into a movie already, but only the first half of it. The second half of this book will hit cinemas this July. When we're already talking about Harry Potter movies, I wanna say that I like them a lot, and I honestly think that Harry Potter movies are some of the few that when a book was changed into a movie that it wasn't disappointing. I find most of the time books are way better that their movies, but it's not like that with this one.
Now let's get into the review:

The story is about Harry, Ron and Hermione on the hunt for the Horcruxes, getting to know about the Deathly Hollows and having a lot of problems on their way. I'm not gonna say more about the story, because it's very hard to do that without spoiling it ;) The spoiler part's gonna come later ;) What I already mentioned above - meaning why I love Harry Potter books - also applies to this book, of course. I love it! This is pretty much my favorite book from the Harry Potter series :) But I was also a little sad as I finished it - not because of the ending, but because it was the last book. I love Harry Potter so much (I like said this so so often in this post ;)) and it was kinda sad that this was the end of it. I mean, if she wanted to, Joanna K. Rowling could write another Harry Potter book for sure, but she said a few times that she won't. And it's kinda sad that an amazing series ends! This is a huge part of my childhood, so it's bad it ended :P But I'll keep reading the books over and over again :)
Now, SPOILER ALERT!! Only read this following part if you want to know parts of the story or already know them!
I was a little unhappy that they didn't return to Hogwarts in this book, because I always loved all the things that happenend there. It's like Hogwarts had totally it's own little magic. But it was also kinda interesting to have the three of them on their own. When Ron left them, I was pretty unhappy because that was really bad. Luckily he came back! I had no idea how they would be able to find all of the Horcruxes, but they somehow did ;) The story with the Deathly Hollows was really great, it totally worked with everything. I even remember that the name Peverell was already mentioned in several books before, so it shows again how well-thought-out these books are.
What I was surprised by was these whole Dumbledore stories that made him look way worse than you used to think of him! But the story with his little sister, that also worked with what he said in the end of novel #6 when he took that "drink", so another well-thought-out part of it :)
In this book, so many good people died: MadEye, Fred, Dobby (yeah, that was especially sad in the movie), Lupin, Tonks, and so on! :(
I liked the fact that Hermione and Ron kissed right before the end, that totally made sense :)
Harry died, and I was so shocked, but I kinda thought before that Harry could be the 7th Horcrux, so it didn't surprise me too much. Well, he luckily came back, and I thought it was so clever that he acted as if he was dead, and then defeated Voldemort (or do you prefer to say You-Know-Who??)! Smart idea, huh?!
And then, the very end, when they're all married and having kids and stuff...I liked it, it made sense, but part of me thought it was like almost like a forced happy ending...I don't know, it's still great :) And I think it leaves a little bit of space for another novel :) I know, sure, Voldemort is dead, but there could be something different happening ;) I'd be the happiest person in the whole world if Joanne K. Rowling decided to pick it up again and write another book, but unfortunately that's not very likely to happen :P
SPOILER ALERT OVER!
Well, that's that....quite a long post, but I just love Harry Potter (how often did I say that in this post?! A hundered times??) and had to talk about it :)
Do you love it as much as I do??

Review: Astor HD Mattitude Foundation

Hi guys,
even though I already found a foundation I like, the Nivea Ideal Finish Foundation which I reviewed here *click*. But since this one'll be discontinued soon and after I read some many good reviews about the Astor foundation on several blogs, I had to try it out :)

Information:
- called Astor HD Mattitude Foundation
- costs 8.99 Euros at most drugstores
- contains 30 ml
- has SPF 22
- is supposed to mattify your face really well and stay up to 16 hours
- available in 6 different shades

click onto the pic to enlarge it :)
Scent, color, coverage & consistency:
The foundation has a very strong scent, kinda floral and perfume-y. It's not really that great, and I wouldn't say it smells yummy, but for me it's okay. I'd say you smell it at the store, just in case you are sensitive to scents. There are quite a few colors available, pretty light ones, too. I'm in the shade 02 porcelain, which is darker than the Nivea Ideal Finish Foundation 02 Nude that I used before. It's a tiny bit too dark for me, but it actually adapts to my skin well. The coverage is not totally full, but it still covers a lot. I'd say it's full to medium coverage.
This is a liquid foundation, so the consistency is - well - liquid. But it's not runny or too thin.

right out of the pump
slightly applied
totally blended out
Application with the Beliance Foundation Brush:
I do like it this way, but it's my least favorite way to apply it from these 3 ways. It applies it nice and evenly, so it's fine :) The coverage is medium that way.

Application with my bare fingers:
It's very easy to apply it evenly with my fingers, you can blend it into your skin easily. But applying it this way means the coverage will be a little lighter, at least on me.

Application with the Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki F80 brush:
My favorite way :) Very easy to blend, and I especially like this brush, so it's perfect! Here is a review on it, *click*. The coverage is medium that way.

Finish & Wear:
It promises to stay for 16 hours and to minimize your pores. I can't say that it really lasts 16 hours, but it stays
pretty long, and when I apply it at 7 am and get home at 3 pm, it's still almost flawless, so really great last :)
It does minimize my pores a little bit, but you can only notice that when you look up close.
Since it's a mattifying foundation, it's not really suited for dry skin. I'd recommend to apply a good moisturizer before you add your foundation. It easily makes dry spots more visisble, so it's maybe not the best for dry skin. It has a very matte finish, even powdery, so I don't find you need to set it with powder.

Bottom Line:
I like this foundation a lot! I think I prefer it over the Nivea foundation I used to use. The finish and the wear is great, and I think it's just awesome!

Did you try out this foundation, too?
I'll see you later!

Spotted + Haul: Current LEs: Catrice etc.

Hi there!
I just lately saw some LEs at the drugstore, and I bought a few things. First of the ones that I didn't buy things from:
Manhattan - London Calling

Alverde - My Perfect Day

Essence - I Love Berlin

I'm not gonna say anything anymore about these, if you want to know more about them, click the names and you'll see the products on Pinkmelon.de (except for the Alverde one)!

Now the ones I bought stuff from:
p2 - Make Up Parade
A cute little LE that didn't get that many good reviews from other bloggers, and I got the only thing that really interested me: the silver glitter polish top coat. It's called 01 groovy finish and a sheer polish with glitter particles and glitter sticks that is mainly meant as a top coat. It's not really meant to be opaque. But I like it :)
p2 glitter top coat - right: china glaze - sunset sail
Catrice - Floralista (click for pics on pinkmelon)
A really nice floral-themed LE that didn't seem that interesting to me at first. But when I saw it in real life, I liked it a lot :) It contained a lot of pretty stuff, and if I had more money I'd gotten more stuff ;) Take a look at it, it's pretty :) I got 2 polishes and the blush.
The blush 01 As Lively As Ever contains two colors, a coral and a pink.
The design is really cute with the flowers :) The colors are matte and pretty bright. The blush is pretty pigmented, but you can apply it naturally. I can't really say that the colors are big enough to use them separately, but that depends on which brush you use. I prefer to use them mixed together, as one coral pink color. It lasts pretty long, but fades a little during the day.
The nail polishes I bought are in the colors C01 Pink Spring and C03 lavender breeze.
left: C01; right: C03
CO1 is a pretty bright pinkish purple shade, I like it a lot :)
it's too pale in this pic :P
this pic shows the color perfectly
It's a nice spring color to me, and I immediately have to wear it! It's opaque with two coats, really cool. It's a creme polish, and not really that unique, but I still like it a lot! Weirdly enough, I didn't own a color like this before. Why?? I have no idea, it's pretty <3
C03 is a light light light pale lavender color that looks mainly white in the bottle.

to see the difference: above a true white (Essence Stampy Polish) and underneath Catrice - C03. You can tell the light lavender hint!
It's a creme polish, and surprisingly opaque with 2 coats. I expected it to be way more sheer because it's such a pale color, but it's pretty opaque! I like the color, because a polish that is that pale is not very common. You can mainly tell the lavender hint in it by comparing the polish to a true white.

I like these things a lot :) What did you get from these LEs??

Valentine's Series: Nail Art #4

Hey there!
This is my last Nail Art Design for Valentine's Day, and again, it's on a nail wheel.
Here we go:
That's what you need:
- a base coat of you choice (I used Essence pro white french)
- a bright red color (I used p2 it's hot)
- a black creme polish (I used p2 eternal)
- a white tip painter (I used essence white tip painter)
- your favorite top coat (I used Essence nail art sealing top coat

That's how to do it:
1.  Use your base coat to protect your natural nails.
2. Paint all of your nails red, use as many coats as needed.
3. Add a black line over your tips, just as if you were doing a straight french tip manicure.
4. Separate the black and the red color by drawing a thin white line in between. Use either a tip painter or pour some white polish onto a piece of paper, pick it up with a toothpick and use that to create the thin line.
5. Seal the design with your favorite top coat.

This design was inspired by this look from the illamasqua throb collection *click*. In the collection the tips are white and the separation line is black, but I liked it better the other way round. Which one do you prefer?
xoxo, Misch
