Hello everyone,
today I'm gonna show you a very popular and just stunning Christmas polish, Ruby Pumps by China Glaze.
Ruby Pumps is -I think- available in the permanent line, or you can at least get it at a lot of online stores. It's a deep red jelly base with bright red glitter that makes it look like it glows from within.
This is seriously the most gorgeous red holiday polish I have, and I'm in love with it. It's absolutely stunning, with the glitter and the glow, and it's just perfect.
It needed 3 thin coats to get fully opaque, but they were really easy to apply so that's okay.
I took like 500 pictures of this polish, and I'm not content with a single one of these. I'm gonna show you a few, trying to capture the true beauty of this polish, but it just doesn't work. Imagine it a thousand times prettier and glowier :)
If you like reds, and China Glaze, you cannot not have this one in your collection. It's so gorgeous, you have to have it. Seriously, get it! And enlarge the pictures :)
I know I'm rambling, and also raving, but it's just pure red glitter awesomeness :)
Do you like this polish? Don't tell me you don't ;)
xoxo, Misch

EOTD December 7th: Golden Holiday Look
Hey there!
From Essence's current LE, Circus Circus, I bought the cream eyeshadow in the color 01 It's Magic. Here *click* you can already see swatches and stuff. And I knew immediately I had to do a look with it, especially for the Christmas season :) So here it is!
I first used the already mentioned cream eyeshadow all over my lid and then shaded my crease with Catrice's eyeshadow in 070 Mr. Copper's Fields. And in my inner corner I used a no name light champagne highlighting shade. For eyeliner I used Essence's Kajal Smudger Pencil in brown from an old LE, Secrets Of The Past. I used this on the outer part of my upper lash line, just a bit, and on my lower lash line, too. Towards the tear duct I blended it with the cream eyeshadow again. Mascara is Evolution To Revolution Mascara by Catrice.
This look doesn't require a lot of products, but it's still perfect for the holiday season! I like it a lot!
In real life the colors are more vivid and especially the gold shines more. It's that bad winter lighting that makes these pictures look a bit pale.
What do you think? Do you like to wear golds for the Xmas season?
See ya!

Book Review: The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown
Hey there!
Today I have a book review for you guys! I just lately read The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown once again, I had already read it, and it made me want to do a book review :) And since I have to give a talk about this book in my German class anyway, this is a good opportunity to practice :D But of course my German talk will be a bit more matter-of-fact like, not as much of my own opinion ;) But let's get this review started!
Dan Brown's books are always a mix between a thriller and an informative book, and it's this mix I like so much! This one, The Lost Symbol, is the third one with the main character Robert Langdon, who is also the hero of Illuminati Angels&Demons and Sakrileg The DaVinci Code. But you don't have to have read the other 2 books to understand this one, there are almost no links between them.
The Lost Symbol has a wide range of topics, the main ones including symbols, Freemasons and noetic sciences. The story is located in Washington D.C., and has quite a lot to do with the city itself.
The book is not written out of one perspective, but there are always scene switches between different persons. That makes it a bit more easy to understand, but you do have to think about who is who.
It starts with a intriguing scene of a ceremony, and then switches to Robert Langdon, who is on his way to Washington D.C. where he thinks he's supposed to give a lecture, but then he's confronted with horrible things, a secret he's forced to uncover and a terrifying stranger who is behind all of this. He has to help his friend, and with his friend's sister, he's experiencing a lot of thrilling and interesting things.
I'm gonna stop trying to describe the content here, because I know I suck at this. It's just so hard to summarize this book, because it contains so many things that you all need to mention. So let's get a bit away from the content and talk about the book itself.
The Lost Symbol contains a lot information about all kinds of topics. I find that when I read a Dan Brown novel, I always learn something. Sure, that makes it not 100% easy to read, but that's really no big problem. Because of all of these facts, it can't be read too quickly. There are a lot of things in it that need to be thought about, or are at least meant to be thought about, and that way it's not the easiest pleasure read. But that doesn't make it boring! It is very thrilling, full of suspense, and you definitely want to go on reading. It's a page turner, but I don't think you could be able to finish this in one day. That would be crazy!
What I found especially interesting are the noetic sciences, which really exist. This topic is so interesting, and if you don't know anything about it, you'll have to catch up with it.
As is clarified in the beginning of the book, all organisations really exist, all ceremonies are authentic and all facts are true. I find it amazing that Dan Brown can think of a story like this and still stay true to the truth (haha, what a expression, can you actually say that?).
I highly recommend this book, especially if you want to learn something and still have a nice entertainment.
Did anyone of you read this book, or any other Dan Brown book?
Talk to you soon!
xoxo, Misch

NOTD December 5th: Essence Circus, Circus LE 01 My Sparkling Acrobat
Hi guys!
Yesterday I showed you the overview of Essence's Circus, Circus LE here *click*, and now I have the nail polish to show you :)
It has a black creme part and a gold glitter one that has small round and big square particles. The black was super opaque and just needed 1 coat, I was so impressed! It's really awesome! And the glitter part is of course cool, too. It's super nice, but the big square particles don't get spreaded as evenly, you need to work a bit for that. But it's still cool!
Application was okay. The brushes are a bit thinner than normal Essence brushes, but easy to handle. The onlymproblematic thing is the fact that it's double ended. When you use one polish while the other one is still at the other end, it's a bit too heavy for nice painting. And when you also unscrew the other bottle, and just hold the part with 2 brushes on it, you will most likely get the other polish smeared onto your hand. So it's not too easy...
But I do think this works, because it's just such a pretty polish and so perfect for this season! What do you think of it??
Oh, and do you want any reviews of the other products I got from Essence's Circus, Circus LE? Any requests or anything?
Until next time,
xoxo, Misch

Spotted: Essence Circus Circus LE
Hey there!
My drugstore got Essence's new Circus Circus LE for the holiday season, so I can now show it to you! There are a lot of gold colors in it, and is therefore a great xmas collection.
It contains 4 double ended nail polishes, 2 lip lacquers, 2 liquid liners, 3 cream eyeshadows, 1 lip topper, 1 perfume, 2 different nail fashion stickers, 1 pocket spray perfume, 1 beauty bag and 1 highlighter powder. Here *click* you have an overviewof the products.
The double ended nail polishes have one creme polish side and one glitter side. The colors are black-gold, gold-black, red-red and pink-pink. My drugstore didn't get the one with the gold base and the black glitter, and I was looking forward to that one most. But I've already heard from other bloggers that they didn't get that polish, so maybe it's not being produced?! Dunno. But I still had to get a polish, so I bought the black one with the gold glitter, called 01 My Sparkling Acrobat. The black is super pigmented, it just needs one coat! And the glitter is small round particles and big square ones, which is so cool! I love it! My only complaint is that it's double ended which makes application and storage a bit more difficult.
The 2 lip lacquers are a bright pink with metallic shimmer and a matte red. They looked great, but I decided I didn't have to have them.
The liquid liners are glittery and fun, but I told myself I wouldn't use them that often, so I left them at the store.
Next, the 3 cream eyeshadows. They're gold, taupe-brown and charcoal, and all shimmery, and they're like the permanent line cream eyeshadows from Essence. I bought the gold one, 01 It's Magic, and it's super creamy and opaque, I like it a lot!
The lip topper is like glitter, and since I don't use that, it wasn't as interesting to me.
The perfume was already sold out at my store, so it could have been a good one, but I don't know.
The nail fashion stickers are also nothing I use, I do my nail art freehanded. A pass for these.
Next, the pocket spray perfume was also not there anymore, so I have no idea what it is like.
The beauty bag was fun, but I don't need one right now.
And last but definitely not least, the highlighting powder. It's so so pretty with the design, and I love the warm color with the shimmer. It's called 01 It's Magic and it's nice, really soft, and not too pigmented that you don't look crazy immediately. I love it, and I'm so glad I bought it!
What do you think of this LE? I really like it, it's perfect for the festive season and the products are great! Good job Essence!
I'll see you soon!

Previews for January!
Hello there!
Xmas time has just started and we're already getting the previews for January LEs, isn't that crazy? But I have to share them anyway.
First of, Essence is gonna launch some new products in their permanent skin care line. Here *click* you have the new My Skin stuff, and here *click* the new Pure Skin stuff. I'm not the biggest fan ever of Essence skin care stuff, so this is not so interesting to me.
Now let's get into the actual LEs. Let's start with the Legends Of The Sky LE. *Click*. To me, this is the most boring one of the January ones, I'm just not a big fan of the colors. But I'm sure a lot of people will like this one!
And the last Essence preview, Crystalliced, *click*. This LE looks like the typical Essence winter LE, and I do like these. My only complaint is that the colors are all a bit too similar, and I'm afraid with like the polishes you won't be able to tell them apart that well. Let's hope that's gonna be different in real life! But I'm looking forward to the liquid highlighter, that one looks great :) And I like the overall design.
Last but not least, Catrice's LE for January, Hidden World, *click*. Here I like the overall colors, they're nude but still nice. I like the soufflés, I hope they're gonna be like the ones from Essence's Ballerina Backstage LE. But I just think that there have been LEs that were way more interesting.
After all, I like the LEs, but there's nothing I have to have, so it's fine if I don't get it all. What do you think about these LEs?
See you soon!
xoxo, Misch
