NOTD September 6th: Catrice - Put Lavender On The Agenda

Hey everyone!
Today I'd like to show you another older Catrice nail polish called Put Lavender On The Agenda.
Put Lavender On The Agenda is a lavender shade. It's a creme and has some darker and murkier qualities to it which stop it from looking too bright.

Application was great, it has a squishy formula and therefore glides on nicely. I did 2 medium coats for full opacity.
I really really like this shade, I love how it works with my skin tone! Too bad it's not available anymore, but I'm sure one can find a good substitute for it.

What do you think of it?

Review: Essence Longlasting Lipstick 01 Coral Calling

Hi guys!
Part of Essence's new permanent line is a new lipstick line in a black packaging. The line is called Longlasting Lipstick, and the color I have to show you is called 01 Coral Calling.
Information:
  • Essence Longlasting Lipstick 01 Coral Calling
  • part of the permanent line since August 2013
  • costs 2,29 Euros
  • shade is a coral pink shade
  • has a sweet scent
  • contains no shimmer particles whatsoever
Positives:
  • price
  • availability
  • nice shade
  • easy to apply
  • creamy texture
  • no shimmer particles, but still has a nice sheen to it, it's not matte
  • doesn't dry out my lips
Negatives:
  • requires reapplication after some time, doesn't last too long due to the creamy formula
  • the scent might be too strong

I really like the color of this lipstick, but when I looked into my collection I realized I already own a couple of similar shades. In the comparison pictures you can see
  • Alterra's Caring Lipstick in 06 Coral, which is a bit darker
  • Catrice's Oceana LE Lipstick in C01 Ocean Sunrise, which is pinker
  • Astor's Lipcolor Butter in 011 Feeling Feline, which is brighter but the closest match
I do really like this lipstick, it's quality might not be that outstanding, but for the price it's a great product!
Has anyone of you tried this lipstick?

NOTD September 4th: Catrice - Grey's Kelly

Hey everyone!
Today I'd like to show you another older nail polish of mine, Grey's Kelly by Catrice.
Grey's Kelly is a grey shade, as the name already suggests. It does have some taupe qualities to it, making it look a tiny bit muddy and like it has a very slight purple-ish touch. It's a creme.

Application was good, it has a very squishy formula, so I ended up doing 3 thin coats for full opacity, that's what I found worked best.
Unfortunately this shade's been discontinued for quite a while now, but as it's not really unique, you should definitely be able to find a good substitute.

What do you think of it?

Review: Kiko Fierce Spirit LE Glow Touch Lips & Cheeks 01 Bitter Margarita

Hi guys!
Today I'd like to review Kiko's Glow Touch Lips & Cheeks product which I already showed you in this haul *click*.
Information:

  • Kiko Glow Touch Lips & Cheeks
  • part of the Fierce Spirit LE Summer 2013
  • shade 01 Bitter Margarita, the first out of four
  • color is a coral pink, no shimmer whatsoever
  • comes in a little pot
  • contains 18 g
  • costs 5,90 Euros, now on sale for 2,95 Euros
  • cream product to be used on both lips and cheeks

Positives:

  • price, especially the sale one
  • cute container that closes nicely so you can always carry it around
  • very pretty color
  • nice creamy consistency
  • nice vanilla scent
  • easy to apply to lips with fingers or lip brush
  • easy to apply to cheeks with fingers or blush brush (I find a stipling brush works best)
  • great pigmentation, but not too strong

Negatives:

  • limited
  • doesn't last too long on the lips
  • might look a bit too shiny on your cheeks if you have oily skin

The color of this product reminds me a lot of Astor's Lipcolor Butter in Feeling Feline. They also have a very very similar scent. The color is almost identical, the Astor product is a bit more cool-toned. Don't mind having both, though :D
After all, I really like this product! I mainly use it as a blush because it makes for a great look :)
Has anyone of you tried it?

Spotted: Catrice Eve In Bloom LE

Hi guys!
Today I'd like to talk about Catrice's LE for September, called Eve In Bloom!

This LE contains 3 eyeshadow duos, 2 pencil eyeliners, 3 lip and cheek creams, 1 loose highlighting powder, 1 set of nail foils and 5 nail polishes.
All products can be seen here *click*.

The eyeshadow duos are all shimmery and of rather natural colors, not that light, though. I bet they can be used for nice looks, but they're nothing new.

The pencil liners come in an anthracite and a burgundy shade and are supposed to have a powdery finish.

The lip and cheek creams come in rather bold colors, without any shimmer whatsoever.

The loose highlighting powder is of a shimmery light pink shade. It's called moisturizing, not sure how a powder can be moisturizing?

The nail foils are of a rose print, matching for the LE's theme.

And last but not least, the nail polishes are either cremes or have a slight pearly shimmer, and their colors aren't that unique.

After all, this is a cute LE, but nothing really sparked my interest. What do you think of it?

NOTD August 31st: Catrice - Lost In Mud

Hi everyone,
today I'd like to show you a rather old Catrice nail polish of mine, Lost In Mud!
Lost In Mud is a traditional taupe color. That means it's a grey shade with brownish undertones, looks like mud! :D It's a creme.

Application was good, even though I've owned this for quite a while now! I did 2 medium coats because it isn't the most opaque color, but these 2 were enough for it not to look patchy.
Lost In Mud was released years ago when Catrice first changed their whole nail polish line to the ones they have now. It has hyped back then because it seems to be a rather good dupe of Chanel Particulière. Unfortunately it is not available like this anymore. There are, however, tons of similar taupe shades to be found with lots of brands!

What do you think of this shade? I really like it for the starting fall!
xoxo, Misch
