Hey there!
Today's polish beauty is my only, very new Orly polish. It's Fowl Play from their Birds Of A Feather Collection from Fall 2011. It's a purple with all kinds of shimmers and flakies in it, in all kinds of colors. You just have to have a look at the bottle, it's so stunning!
I already swatched it on my nail wheel, so I knew this is not too opaque in the beginning. So I first of did 2 coats of Essence - True Love from their Vampire's Love LE, and then did 2 coats of Fowl Play. That didn't save me any coats, but I thought it was more intelligent ;) Whatever.
Here you have a swatch of Essence's True Love on its own, it's a super pretty warm-toned purple with a glowy shimmer.
I love the Orly polish, it's so so pretty! Don't you agree? Just pure awesomeness! Make sure you enlarge the pictures!

Problem!
Hi there!
I have a quick question for you guys, and I hope someone can answer this to me!
I'm trying to make a new watermark for my pictures, and to prevent picture theft, I want to make it a bit transparent so I can put it over the middle of my pictures. Do you get what I mean?
Well, now, the thing is: how do I make it transparent? I like to work with Gimp, but I'm a n00b and have like no idea how to do what. In the best case I want to do a transparent picture with my slightly transparent watermark, so I just have to paste that onto my pictures.
So, if you have any idea of how that works, please please please let me know! Maybe you know a good tutorial, a good blog entry, just something! Help is very welcome!
Thanks,
xoxo, Misch

Spotted: Essence Legends Of The Sky LE
Hey guys!
I just lately went to the drugstore again, and found a LE I had already forgotten about ;) It's Essence's Legends Of The Sky LE. I'm gonna tell you already now, I didn't get anything, but I wanted to kinda "review" the LE anyways. So here you go:
This LE contains 1 eyeshadow palette, 3 double-ended liner & shadow sticks, 2 lipsticks, 1 blush, 6 nail polishes and one ring. Here *click* you can find all of the products.
The eyeshadow palette has some natural colors, like brown, taupe and olive, as well as some more unusual, like red and orange. There was a tester, and the eyeshadows were surprisingly pigmented and soft! I just left it there because these are not my types of colors. But if you do like them, make sure you have a look at it!
The double-ended liner & shadow sticks are silver, olive green and brown. Again, not so much my colors. I prefer warm and clean browns, not green-toned ones.
The lipsticks appeared weird to me. One was a dark metallic brown, the other a sheer white shimmer. As a plus, there were testers, that's great, but I just didn't like them. They're not colors I wear either.
Next up, the blush. This is what I had wanted, and this is what was gone at my drugstore :P
The nail polishes are like the eyeshadow palette: a lot of neutrals and a red and a orange. The nudes were all not clean nudes, again green-toned or dirty shades and stuff. They looked okay, but with my huge stash in mind, I told myself I didn't have to have one.
And last but not least, the ring. It's like dark beeds but still looks like metal or something. It's again not my taste, so I left it there.
I'm sure this is a nice LE for people who like these colors. They're just not my taste, but that's okay because it doesn't have to be. What do you think of this LE?
See you later!

Polish Haul #2: Essie & China Glaze
Hi there!
A few days ago I showed you the first part of my nail polish haul, and now here's the other half of the polishes :) I of course also got a few China Glaze polishes, and some Essies! So here they are:
A few days ago I showed you the first part of my nail polish haul, and now here's the other half of the polishes :) I of course also got a few China Glaze polishes, and some Essies! So here they are:
China Glaze Let It Snow Collection - Velvet Bow
From China Glaze's Holiday Collection of 2011 I got a few polishes, and one of them is this super pretty dark red creme. It seriously just looks like a velvet bow!
China Glaze Let It Snow Collection - Snow Globe
This polish is a glitter topper, with round multi-colored particles. It's super fun and looks a bit like glittering snow! But it's rather meant for layering.
China Glaze Let It Snow Collection - Glittering Garland
Here we have a green dark base with lighter green glitter. It's super festive and so stunning! What a pity the Holiday season is already over...
China Glaze Let It Snow Collection - Twinkle Lights
And my last China Glaze polish for this haul. It's a super pretty glitter, consisting of red, gold and green. This is like Christmas in a bottle! It looks more gold, but the number of each color glitter seems to be even.
Essie Fall 2011 Collection - Ladylike
Here we have a super soft and pretty gray-toned light pink. This is quite natural, but it's interesting, so it doesn't fall into the natural=boring category.
Essie Winter 2011 Collection - School Of Hard Rocks
This is a great gray- and green-toned blue polish, not too usual. It's a creme and I like it a lot :)
Essie New Year's Eve Metallics Collection - Trophy Wife
And last but not least, a pretty green-toned turquoise shimmer. It looks metallic and is super fun! I fully understand why this was part of a NYE collection.
Thoughts? I love all of these polishes, as well as the ones from the other haul! These are all from nailsupplies.us. I'm especially surprised by Essie, they're getting more and more interesting to me :)
Do you already have any of these in your collection?
See you soon!

NOTD January 10th: OPI - Color To Diner For
Hi there!
Today I want to show you the first polish from my haul, OPI - Color To Diner For from their Touring America Fall 2011 Collection.
It's a red cranberry shade with a super pretty golden and pink shimmer. The shimmer is very small and fine, but it shows up so prettily in artificial light. In my pictures you unfortunately can't see it that well, so you'd rather have a look at this picture *click*. There you can see it properly.
It was super easy to apply, here you can see three thin coats, even though the third one wasn't even necessary ;) I like to make sure it's really 100 % opaque, and rather apply another extra coat.
What do you think of this polish? It's not too Christmas-y, so it also works for this time :)
See you later!

Review: Essence Crystalliced LE Liquid Highlighter
Hi dear readers,
I now have finally a review of Essence's Liquid Highlighter from their Crystalliced LE. Let's start right away!
Information:
I now have finally a review of Essence's Liquid Highlighter from their Crystalliced LE. Let's start right away!
Information:
- it's a fluid highlighter with a creamy consistency
- part of the Essence Crystalliced LE from this January
- comes in a tube with a pump
- the color is a cool-toned silvery white with shimmer
- it contains 15 ml
- costs 2.45 Euros
Positives:
- price
- nice color for a highlighter
- since it's cool-toned it'll be usable for a lot of different skin types
- with the pump it's easy to get out the right amount
- you only need a tiny bit for a nice glow
- the shimmer is super fine, you don't feel it on the skin
- easy to apply with your fingers
- gives a subtle highlight on your cheekbones
- it's a possible dupe for Benefit's HighBeam: comparison: *click*
Negatives:
- it's limited
- you need to be careful you don't use too much, or you'll look too glowy, especially with oily skin
| in the sun, blended |
| in the shade, blended |
After all, I can say that I really like this highlighter! It's super easy to use and gives a nice subtle glow, good for regular use :) I can really recommend it!
Did you already get this highlighter? Or are you planning to pick it up?
Talk to you soon!

Polish Haul #1: OPI & Orly
Hey there!
It's haul time! Yay, I'm super excited about this one! It was a late Christmas present from my parents, they ordered some polishes for me! I divided this haul into 2 parts, so you're not too spammed with pictures ;)
In this part of the haul I want to show you my new OPI and Orly polishes. Here you go:

In this part of the haul I want to show you my new OPI and Orly polishes. Here you go:
OPI Suede Collection - Russian Navy SUEDE
You guys know that this is not new at all, but this was on my must-have-list for quite some time now, and I was finally able to get it! Super pretty navy blue with silver shimmer that dries matte. Here *click* I already did a post on Suedes.
OPI Touring America Collection - Color To Diner For
Now we have something a little newer. This was part of OPI's Fall 2011 Collection, and it's a super pretty red cranberry shade with golden and pink shimmer that is super fine. I love it!
OPI Touring America Collection - I Brake For Manicures
The other color I got from this collection. It's a super dark, dirty purple shade with warm undertones. I love the color, it's so pretty!
OPI Muppets Collection - Designer...De Better!
This silver foil polish with bronze little flecks is from OPI's Holiday Collection for 2011. It's really pretty and the flecks make it more special :)
OPI Nicki Minaj Collection - Fly
The last OPI polish I got is from OPI's latest collection. It's a vibrant turquoise creme, so fun and fresh! I like it a lot!
Orly Birds Of A Feather Collection - Fowl Play
And last but not least, my very first Orly polish! It's a warm plummy purple with flecks and shimmer in all kinds of colors. I'm so glad this is my first Orly, I'm in love with it!
So these are some of the polishes I got! I like them all a lot, but that's no wonder! Such gorgeous polishes :)
I ordered the OPIs from salenail.com, and the Orly came together with the other polishes I will still show you from nailsupplies.us. I like both stores a lot, I had no problems whatsoever!
What do you think of these polishes? Do you own any of these yourself?
xoxo, Misch
