Going on vacation...

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to do a quick blog post about my absence next week! I'll be on vacation in Italy and I hope it'll be a lot of fun! I'm leaving tomorrow morning, so I won't have time to do a new blog post until next week. Posting there isn't possible at the house I go to, sorry :(. But when I get back next week on Sunday, I'll hopefully have a haul for you guys! I'm super excited about Italian cosmetic brands and I'll try to get some interesting stuff!
I'll see you in a week!
Bye, Misch

Tag: Would you rather...? BEAUTY EDITION

Hey everyone,
today I have a tag post for you! There are 10 beauty related "would you rather...?" -questions and I'm going to answer them for you guys!

Would you rather...
1. go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up?
I'd rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up, because my hair is messy most of the time anyways. I ususally wear it open without doing anything fancy with it, so that would be no problem for me.
2. shave your eyebrows off or have your eyelashes fall out?
Probably have my eyelashes fall out because I could wear false lashes.
3. be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
Honestly, I've never been to both stores! A MAC store isn't anywhere near my hometown and Sephora is nowhere in my country. But I know about both stores and I think I would pick Sephora because of there are more brands available.
4. wear the lipgloss-lipliner look or the 80's perm?
I don't really know what exactly they mean with "lipgloss-lipliner look", but I wear that sometimes, so I would choose it.
5. leave the house with a obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
I'd rather wear overdone blush. I don't really know why, I just prefer it.
6. wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
They're both fun ;) I'd rather wear MC Hammer pants because it's funny :)
7. have a bad orange-y spray-tan or weird tan lines that can't be covered?
Weird tan lines, I guess.
8. have a bad haircut or a bad haircolor?
Rather a bad haircut because you can hide that by wearing your hair pinned up with bobby pins or something like that.
9. have YouTube or Twitter taken away forever?
I love YouTube, I'm on it everyday, so I want it to stay. I don't have Twitter, so I would have rather taken Twitter away.
10. give up using make-up brushes or mascara?
I'd give up using mascara, because I could wear false lashes.

I hope you liked this tag. I tag all of, so if you think it's fun - as I do - then feel free to do it! :)
I'll see y'all soon!
Bye, Misch

EOTD July 26th: Hello Kitty Look

Hey guys,

I got a palette by H&M from a Hello Kitty Collection about half a year ago, and today I did a eye make-up with it. The palette was only 4 Euros and the colors are really pigmented! It contains a light blue, a bronze, a light frosted pink and a frosted white eyeshadow, as well as a peach and a pink blush. All colors are shimmery.

For this certain look I first applied the frosted white color in the inner corner and underneath my eyebrow. Then you wanna use the light pink on the center of the lid and the light blue in the outer corner. Make sure to blend all of these three colors very well so there's no line of separation between them! The bronze color is going to go into the crease, blend this one well, too! On the lower lashline you want to do the same color scheme: In the inner corner white, the light pink and then the light blue. Connect the colors in the outer corner! The bronze eyeshadow isn't supposed to be on the lower lashline. Now you wanna apply a thin eyeliner on the upper lashline and wing it out pretty far. This is supposed to be the "eyecatcher" for this look. You can use either liquid eyeliner or gel eyeliner. A pencil wouldn't be that great. Don't forget to curl your lashes and apply one or two coats of black mascara!
On the cheeks you can use one of the brushes of this palette, I used the pink one, but that depends on what you like. I just applied a light pink lipgloss to my lips.

I know that this palette might not be available any more, but these colors are really basic and they're so typical for Hello Kitty, so I had to show you this look! Feel free to use different colors that you already have in your collection!

I hope you liked this look and I'll see you very soon!
Bye, Misch

Disclaimer: I bought this palette with my own money and I'm not payed for anything.

EOTD July 21st: Cranberry Look + 2 MAC dupes!

Hey everyone,
I wanted to show you the eye make-up I'm wearing today. I called it "Cranberry Look", cause the color in the crease is almost a dupe for the MAC Cranberry. It's from Catrice, from their current Caramé Limited Edition and it's called C03 Spiced Red. I love this eyeshadow. I tried to recreate this color with my 120 palette, but it was very hard, I had to mix at least 6 colors!
For this look I used a shimmery goldish tone with a yellow undertone on the inner half of the lid and a shimmery bronze color on the other half of the lid. Make sure to blend them together well! Then you wanna apply a shimmery cranberry color in the crease and take it up as high as you like it. Then I used a matte dark chocolate brown in the outer V-area to darken up the look and to give it more dimension. Your highlight underneath your brow and in the inner corner should be matte and a bit lighter than your skintone, but not white. On the upper lashline I applied a black gel eyeliner first, let it dry and then I applied the same chocolate brown as in the outer V over it to soften up the look. On the lower lashline you want to use a shimmery brown eye pencil, but only line your eye about 3/4 of the way in. Apply one or two coat of black mascara!
The exact products I used are:
- Manhatten MyBox eyeshadow in 23P and 93N on the lid [both are discontinued]
- Catrice Caramé Collection eyeshadow C03 Spiced Red in the crease
- Essence soft matte eyeshadow in 03 silky smooth in the outer V-area [discontinued]
- Alverde gel eyeliner in black on the upper lashline
- Essence soft matte eyeshadow in 03 silky smooth over the gel eyeliner
- Essence Secrets of the Past Collection eye pencil in brown on the outer 3/4 of the lower lashline [from an old limited edition]
- Catrice Nude Sensation collection eyeshadow in C01 nude cream as a highlight
- The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara in black
I really hope you liked this EOTD! I'm really happy with the eyeshadow from the Caramé Collection, I also got another one that is called C04 spiced bronze and it's supposed to be a dupe for the eyeshadow Amberlights by MAC. It's so pretty! You can see pictures of the collection here and swatches of the eyeshadows here
I also wore this look when I watched Eclipse!
I'll see you guys soon! Bye, Misch

Eclipse inspired make-up

Hey guys, yesterday I went to cinema to see Eclipse, and it was great! Are you such a Twilight fanatic as I am? Since I was so happy about the movie, I immediately had to do an inspired look! I know that this look is very dark and definitely nothing for everyday, it's just an inspired look that isn't really meant to be wearable! It's inspired by both Rosalie and Jane. Rosalie wears a very thick eyeliner on the upper lash line in the movie and she has shimmery pink eyeshadow on without having a defined crease, but there's still a noticeable color transition. Jane, as most of you know, wears this very heavy, dark black smokey eye with a very heavy eyeliner on the lower lash line. They both wear a neutral lip, but Rosalie's is more bubblegum pink with shimmer.
I first applied a black pencil eyeliner all around my eye, leaving out the inner corner. This line can definitely be messy and pretty thick. Then I smudged the eyeliner on the lower lash line. For this you can either use a smudger that is on the other side of some eye pencils or a q-tip. I also applied the black eyeliner on my water and tight line to get the look even darker. Make sure to smudge your eyeliner into the lashes! The I applied a thinner line of gel eyeliner onto the upper lashline, over the pencil liner. I would not suggest using liquid eyeliner for this, because that wouldn't look the same as Rosalie's eyeliner. On the lid you wanna use a shimmery grey base first and then apply some frosty shimmery pinks over it. Your pinks should get darker toward the outer corner! I used three different pinks from my 120 palette. In the inner corner you wanna apply a frosty white color. When you're done with all of these steps, you want to take a q-tip and clean up, so the eyeliner has the shape you want it to have.
For the cheeks you don't want to use bronzer since vampires are always pale. I applied a shimmery light pink blush, but just very lightly. For the lips you wanna use a bubblegum pink listick with shimmer, in the best case a frost. I don't have a color like this, so I applied a pink lipstick and a frosty gloss over it.

I really hope you liked this inspired look! I know it's not really wearable, but it was so fun to create this! And it could be fun to wear this on Halloween...:)
Have you already seen Eclipse? Did you like it? I'd like to hear your thought on it!
I'll see you soon!
Bye, Misch

Review: Manhattan Water Flash Lipgloss

Hey everyone,
I just recently found a new limited edition by Manhattan at my drugstore. It's called "wet shot" and it contains nail polishes and a new line of lipglosses that are called Water Flash Lipglosses. I think that it will move into the permanent line but I'm not sure about it. I saw them at the durgstore and I immedately decided which one I wanted to get. I swatched all of them and I chose the most vibrant and colorful one. There are 6 colors avaiable, colorful ones as well as neutral ones. Since they claim to contain a lot of water, I thought that they'll be very sheer, but they aren't! I bought the most pigmented one, the others are a bit sheerer but in a way that you can still see the color on the lips. The one I bought is called 46D. They cost around 4 Euros, depending on where you buy them.
I'm going to list all the good and bad aspects of this lipgloss here. Please note that I just got one, so it can be totally different with the other lipglosses. I'm going to get a neutral one soon, when they're on sale at my drugstore, so I can compare it to this one. The review will come soon.

What it claims to do:
* light consistency
* wet look-effect
* intensely moisturizing due to the high water content
* not sticky

What I think about it:

++POSITIVES++
+ nice pigmentation
+ available in 6 different colors from neutral to colorful
+ price
+ nice melon scent that isn't too strong
+ nice shine
+ stays for a few hours
+ not sticky
+ cute and convenient packaging
+ you can layer it and achieve the coverage you like
+ nice to apply with the applicator
+ the color stays even when the shine goes away
+ doesn't dry out the lips

--NEGATIVES--
- doesn't stay when you eat or drink something
- it's really hard to remove when you get it on your hand or something, water and soap won't be enough
- it get's on you teeth easily when you apply it

These promises does it keep:
* light consistency --> YES
* wet look-effect --> YES
* intensely moisturizing due to the high water content --> PARTLY: it doesn't dry out the lips and it moisturizes lightly, but not intensely
* not sticky --> YES

BOTTOM LINE: I really like this lipgloss. It's obviously not an every day color, but it's very nice for a summer party or something like this. It's a really good drugstore lipgloss and defininately worth its money. I really recommend it!

Have you tried out any of these water flash lipglosses? Do you like them? Do you like this one?
I hope y'all had a nice day and I'll blog to you later!
xoxo, Misch

NOTD July 6th: OPI - We'll Always Have Paris - Suede

Hey everyone,
how are you? I'm fine.
Today I'm going to show you guys my NOTD! I'm wearing OPI's We'll Always Have Paris in the Suede version. It's a dark purple with silver glitter and it's matte. It just has the typical Suede finish. I really love it! Of course I know that Suede nail polishes don't last very long, and you shouldn't apply a topcoat because then the Suede finish is gone. That's the reason why I already removed it today. I wore it for three days, the whole Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It already showed some tipwear on the evening of Sunday and it started to chip off on Monday. I don't really think that's such a big problem, because the color is so pretty and most drugstore nail polishes don't last any longer, either. I used two thin coats for the perfect coverage and I also wore a base coat. When I removed it, I noticed something: when you go over the nail with a cotton pad soaked with nail polish remover without trying to remove it completely, just the purple gets removed and you nail stays painted with a silver Suede! I think that that is really cool :)
So, that's it for today, I hope you enjoyed it!
Bye, Misch

My thoughts on the current Essence limited editions

Hey guys, this month Essence released two new limited editions and I already found them at my local drugstore a week ago. I had enough time to try them out, so I'm going to show you what I got and tell you what I think about them!

Essence RETURN TO PARADISE Collection:

These products are available: 2 baked eyeshadow trios, 3 eyeliner pens, 3 lipglosses, 1 shimmer powder, 5 nail polishes, blotting tissues

What I bought: the shimmer powder in 01 the famous flamingo

My thoughts:
-The eyeshadow trios are available in orange/yellow-puple-brown and gold-teal-brown. They're really colorful and nicely pigmented.
-The eyeliner pens are available in brown, petrol and lilac. They have a felt tip applicator. Only the lilac is a bit light, the other are nicely pigmented.
-The lipglosses contain a ton of glitter and they don't look really pigmented. Unfortunately, there weren't any ligloss testers. They are available in brown, lilac and orange.
-The shimmer powder is a shimmery, light pink color and nicely pigmented. It gives a nice glow and lighter skin-toned people could even use this as a blush.
-The nail polishes are very colorful, too. They're available in petrol, orange, yellow, brown and purple. I already have colors like that so I didn't buy one.

Bottom line: This collection is really nice and colorful. Definitely check it out!

Essence THE TWILIGHT SAGA ECLIPSE Collection:

These products are available: 3 baked eyeshadow duos, 2 glitter eye pencils, 1 shimmer powder, 4 lipglosses, 5 nail polishes

What I bought: 2 lipglosses: 01 lunch at cullens and 03 ready to be bitten, nail polish in 02 thirsty!

My thoughts:
-The baked eyeshadow duos are all really pigmented and glittery. You can get them in silver-black, purple-lilac and blue-silver
-The glitter eye pencils look as if they were just glitter and they will scratch your skin. They're available in silver and black.
-The shimmer powder is just loose glitter.
-The lipglosses are available in dark red, pink-purple, clear and black. All of them contain glitter. I bought the dark red and the clear one and they're really pigmented! Just the way you want your lipglosses to be. The red is really dark on the lips, so it's nothing for everyday, but the clear one is really nice, especially in the sunlight, because then you can see the multicolor glitter. Without eating or drinking, they last pretty long. The red one isn't gone after eating/drinking.
-The nail polishes are all really pretty. You can get a jelly bloody red one, a black one with magenta glitter, a shimmery silver one, a jelly magenta one and a pearly shimmer color. I bought the bloody red one and the application was great for a drugstore product. I wore it on my toenails for over a week and it almost didn't chip off. I wore two coats, because with them, it's perfectly opaque. I really like it.

Edit: I got the black glitter nail polish a while after I wrote this post. I didn't get a chance to wear it yet, but the swatches look nice, the color is almost opaque with two coats and the glitter comes out, especially in the sunlight.

Bottom line: This is a really nice collection! I would recommend all the products I got and if you like them, you should give them a try!

you can see swatches of both of this collections at www.fragdiegurus.de

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you guys later!
Bye, Misch

Review: Yves Rocher Les Plaisirs Nature Cherry Set

I just recently got the new set by Yves Rocher, the Bigarreau Cherry Line. A shower gel, a lipgloss and a perfume are available and they're all supposed to smell like cherry. If you don't know what Yves Rocher is, you should check out their online store. It's basically a beauty store from France that sells natural cosmetics with mostly botancial-based ingredients.
I'm gonna tell you what I think of the products!

First, the shower gel. It contains 13.5 fl oz and if you buy it separately, you'll pay 4,95 Euros.

++POSITIVE++
+ contains botanical-based ingredients
+ lathers very well
+ scent stays on your body for something around 2 hours
+ the price is OK
+ nice, gel-like formula

--NEGATIVE--
- scent is a bit unnatural
- it's hard to get out the right amount because the cap is so huge

I think it's a nice product and if you like the scent, get it. But there are other alternatives available.

Second, the perfume. It contains 0.67 fl oz and if you buy it separately, you'll pay 3,50 Euros.

++POSITIVE++
+the scent is the perfect cherry scent in my opinion. It's not too sweet and not too heavy, it's just really good
+ the price is OK
+ botanical-based ingredients
+ the bottle is really cute (I'm a sucker for cute packaging)

--NEGATIVE--
- the scent doesn't stay so long, just for something around three hours

I really like this perfume and I've been using it regularly now.

Last, the lipgloss. It contains 0.34 fl oz and if you buy it separately, you'll pay 2.95 Euros. It's in a tube.

++POSITIVE++
+ the color is a nice red without shimmer/glitter
+ easy application because of the tube form
+ nice, gel-like formula
+ stays for something around two hours when you don't eat or drink anything
+ botanical-based ingredients
+ the price is OK

--NEGATIVE--
- the scent/taste is a mix between cherry and soap water, I don't like that

It's a nice lipgolss in my opinion, and if you don't mind a weird taste, it's definitely worth to look at.

BOTTOM LINE: I think this collection is nice with a few little negative points. When you are at a Yves Rocher store, definitely look at it and smell it. My favorite out of this collection is the perfume. I got it in a kit by my friends and I don't know the price of the kit and I can't find it at the website.

I hope you all enjoyed this review and I hope I helped you out!
xoxo, Misch

NOTD July 2nd: Essie Tart Deco

Hey dear readers,
I'm weraing Essie's Tart Deco for a few days now and I wanted to tell you what I think about it. When I first applied it to my nail wheel, I thought it was perfet. Super smooth, not streaky at all and perfect coverage with two coats. It is described as a "dreamy creamy coral" by Essie and I thought that was perfectly right. But when I applied it to my nails, it was streaky with the first coat and I didn't like the color at all. It's definately darker that it appears in the bottle. Now, after looking at it for three days, I'm beginning to like it. I expected it to be a nice coral, but this color looks different in any light! It looks coral, then peach, then neon orange and then pink. That's so weird and the main reason why I didn't like it at first. I took a few pictures for you to show you the different colors it can look like, I hope you're able to see some differences ;) . After three days it started to show some tip wear and it even chipped off on one nail.
Have you tried out Tart Deco? Do you like it? If you don't have it, would you buy it because of the color?
I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you soon!
Bye, Misch
