Hey everyone :)
First of, I'm really sorry for not posting more. Just a few more days and the main school stress will be over for a while. Then I'll post more regularly again! :)
Today I'm wearing Java Mauve-A by OPI on my nails, and it's the first color from my haul I showed you here *click*
I already described the color in that post, so I'm not gonna do that again. For now, let's just say it's a warm pinkish brown color, like rosewood.
I've been wearing it for a week straight and had no chipping, just tipwear, so I'd say it's the normal good OPI quality. It needed two coats to get opaque, but you could get away with one if you paint your nails were carefully :)
I love this color, because I have nothing like it, and it's such a pretty neutral color <3 LOVE!
Do you like it, too?
I'll see you soon :)
xoxo, Misch

Review: Alverde Aqua Peeling Pearl
Hey everyone,
I just lately ran out of my peeling (or exfoliator, call it how you like to), the Yves Rocher Apricot Peeling. click here for the review! And I decided to get a different one. When I went to dm I saw this one and wanted to give it a try! Let's see how I liked it:
Information:
- contains 50 ml for 1.95 Euros at dm
- is from the Alverde Aqua Series which is for normal and combination oily skin
- you're supposed to use it once or twice a week on your face, neck and decollete
- promises to even out your complexion and clean your skin off anything
Positives:
+ light, citrusy scent (if you like it)
+ price
+ good ingredients from a natural cosmetics line
+ exfoliates the skin nicely, removes all of the dirt, sweat and dead skincells
+ works well for my skin: hasn't broken me out of anything
Negatives:
- only available at dm
- there aren't that much of the little peeling things/pearls inside of it, I prefer more
- doesn't leave my skin with that squeaky-clean feeling which I like about peelings
Bottom Line:
I do like this stuff, and it really good, but I still prefer the Yves Rocher Apricot Peeling which I reviewed here *click*, so I'll get a new bottle of that after I finished this one by Alverde.
I'm happy with this peelinga anyway! Do you like this, too?
I'll see you later!
xoxo, Misch

Illamasqua "Throb" Trial
Hey everyone,
in this post *click* I posted a link to a pic *click* from the Throb Collection by Illamasqua, and I said I was gonna try to recreate it. Well, I did try it, but it didn't really work out, unfortunately. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be! So I didn't really manage to do it....well, there are a few pics I can post, so you'll just see some impressions :) I also took a Face Chart and did some sketches before I started, so you can see what I thought about how to do it :) You can enlarge all pictures by clicking on them :)
Have you ever tried to recreate a look and then it was way harder than you expected?! Tell me! :)
xoxo, Misch

NOTD January 23rd: China Glaze - Strawberry Fields
Hey there!
Today I have a polish for you guys which is Strawberry Fields by China Glaze. It's part of the Summer Days collection from 2009, but still available. Strawberry Fields is a pink with gold glass flecks. For those of you who don't know what glass flecks are: they're glitter particles that are bigger than normal glitters, and they almost look like little glass particles. The finish of these polishes is very shiny and smooth, even though there are so much glitter particles in it.
The glass flecks in this polish are very noticable, especially in the sunlight. I love this polish a lot, it's gorgeous and screams SUMMER! :)
I used three coats to get it opaque, but you could get away with 2 thick ones. It lasted 3 days before it showed some tipwear and I removed it after a full week because there were a few chippings.
Do you own this polish, too? What do you think of glass flecks?
xoxo, Misch

New Nail Polishes!! YAY! :)
Hey everyone,
today I have a haul to show you :)
As some of you might know, I totally love the nautical sailor style, and when China Glaze released a complete collection with that theme, I just had to get some colors :)The China Glaze "Anchors Away" Collection is their Spring 2011 one and available on Transdesign.com since January 12th. I immediately ordered on January 12th and the polishes arrived today, on January 22nd! I'm amazed, it took only 10 days, it's never been so fast! YAY! :)
I really like the collection by China Glaze, not only for the theme, but also because it's one of the few spring collections that aren't only pastel colors. We've had that long enough now, so a nice change is good :)
I was tempted to order the whole collection, but that was a little too much ;) So I made it down to 6 polishes:
- Sea Spray:
top: China Glaze - Sea Spray underneath: p2 - being in heaven |
- First Mate
A very true navy blue creme. Also perfectly opaque with 2 coats, if you paint very thick and careful, one'll be enough. It's very similar to 77T by Manhattan for the Spice Up Your Nails collection. I wouldn't say they're totally dupes, the one by Manhattan is slightly darker.
- Life Preserver
A poppy orange creme. It's very muted, definitely not neon or anything. I wouldn't say it's totally unique, but I don't own a color like it. It's opaque with 2 coats as well.
- Hey Sailor!
A bright sailor, pin-up kinda red. Creamy and perfectly opaque with 2 coats. I mainly got this one because of the name, so cute :) It's not that unique, there are a lot of bright reds out there, but I like this one a lot. It's very shiny, too :)
- Knotty
A nude color with a glitter/foil finish, maybe even glass-flecked. Really pretty, especially in the sunlight when it shines and glitters. It's not boring at all, what nudes can be easily, a nude eyecatcher :) For this one I needed 3 coats, but if you paint very carefully, 2 will do the job :)
comparison between sunset sail (left) and knoty (right) |
A nude peach color with a light shimmer that is definitely noticeable. It's opaque with 2 coats, as most of the others. I like it a lot, a basic color that is still kinda different.
I also got two OPI colors:
- Suzi Says Feng Shui
A cobalt blue that was in last year's Spring collection, the Hong Kong one. Creamy and opaque with 2 coats, really pretty :) I didn't own a color like it yet :)
- Java Mauve-A
it's way to pale in this pic :P |
A nude with a lot of mauve in it. It looks pink with some brown in it, or like a very dirty reddish pink. I would say it's a rosewood color, actually. My camera wasn't really able to pick up the color in it's true way, it made it a lot cooler and pinker. The color is in real life very warm and creamy, it's almost a one-coater, I just had to do 2 coats because I didn't paint evenly.
I love all of the colors a lot :) Do you own any of them? What do you think of them, do you like'em?!
xoxo,
Misch

WOW! :)
Hey guys,
today's post is very very short, I actually just wanted to show you a pic I found on the internet!
Since I don't own the pic, I'll only post the link *click here*
It belongs to the Throb Collection by Illamasqua, and I love it! It's so creative, inspirational and pretty :) I love it so much, the idea and the thoughts behind it are so cool :)
On Makeup Your Jangsara I already found a version of the look *click* There you can also find some more pics :)
I love this pic so much, and I might recreate the look! This is nothing to wear about for sure, but maybe on a lonely weekend....I'll let you know if I do it :)
What do you think of this pic? Are you getting anything from the Illamasqua Throb Collection?!
I'll see you later!
xoxo, Misch

EOTD January 16th: Neutral Look
Hey guys,
I finally have another EOTD for you! I'm wearing a very simple look that I've been wearing a lot lately :)
It's very simple but not the typical look that just has a defined crease, so I would say it's a very wearable smokey look.
You only need a few things which are:
- a eyeshadow base (I used the old RdLY eyeshadow base)
- a shimmery nude powder or cream shadow (I used the NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in yogurt)
- a matte brown eyepencil (I used the p2 perfect look kajal in 020 brown)
- your favorite mascara (I used Maybelline colossal volum' express in glam brown)
That's how I do it:
1. Apply the base all over your lid.
2. Apply the nude shimmery color ( the one I used is a brownish pink shimmery nude) all over your lid, but don't go over your crease.
3. Line your top and lower lashline with the brown kajal. You can do this really messily, it won't stay as it is :)
4. Take a pencil brush (I used the Sigma E30) and smudge out the brown liner. Also on the lower lashline, just don't dragg it to far downward.
5. Add mascara to both your top and bottom lashes.
And that's it! Really easy but pretty :) Do you like it? What is your favorite every day look?
I'll see you soon!
xoxo, Misch
