Book Review: Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella

Hi guys!
After I reviewed The Host *click*, I immediately started reading Can You Keep A Secret? by Sophie Kinsella. And now it's time for a review about it! Hope I'm not spoiling anything ;) Enlarge the second picture to read the description :)
The book has about 380 pages, and the story is pretty easy to recap: This girl, Emma, tells a stranger on a plane all her secrets, also the ones really nobody should know. She thought she'd never see that man again, but then he turns out to be her boss. And she not only has to handle that he knows everything about her, but also her problems with her boyfriend, her family, herself and so on.
The story is a really really cute one, the way Sophie Kinsella books are most of the time. It's a love story, and there's not too much depth to it, but that's nice for in-between. It's a little easy pleasure read, nothing you need to think about a lot or anything. But, like I always find with Sophie Kinsella books, is that you really want to read on and find out how it goes on. I read this within three days, because I wanted to know how the stories carries on.
I read it in English, and it was really easy to understand. I like the language, it's casual and I found things I would say myself.
It's not too soupy or anything, even though it's a romantic little love story. I find that it was a little bit predictable, because it goes a little like all of these love stories do. But not the events, only the chain of events, if you understand what I mean.
But I liked it nonetheless, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a cute little love story. It's funny, it's a bit sad, it's romantic. And since my edition is so light-weight, I'm keeping it in my purse to read it when I'm on the train or something.
Did anyone read it, too? Do you agree with me, or did you think different of it? I'd like to know!
Until then,
xoxo, Misch

  3. @Salander: that's hard to say, but I guess you could like it if you want a cute little pleasure read. but if you absolutely HATE love stories, it might not be the best to get. Maybe you can find this one at your library?
