What are your plans for tonight? I'll be at a friend's costume party :)
See you later,

Spotted: Essence Home Sweet Home LE

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you Essence's Home Sweet Home LE for November!
This LE contains 3 eyeshadows, 1 lipgloss, 2 blushes, 2 lipsticks, nail stickers, 4 nail polishes and 1 little bag. Here *click* you can see all of the products.
The eyeshadows come in coral, light pink and dark brown, and all have a knit print on them. I couldn't try them, no testers, so I have no idea about pigmentation, sorry! And to be honest, coral and pink aren't exactly the most common eyeshadow colors, right?!
The lipgloss is a clear lip maximizer, supposed to volumize your lips.
The blushes are both super stunning. They have the most gorgeous knit pattern on them, and they looks so so pretty! The only thing I wasn't too fond of were the colors. I don't know, the coral was too orange-y for me, and the light pink too pale. So I ended up getting none of them, because it wouldn't make sense to get them because of the print. But I love it! They both have a slight shimmer.
The lipsticks are a bright red and a deeper blue-toned red. They're both really opaque and matte. I got the first one, 01 Red-y To Relax, which is a true bright red lipstick, just with the slightest blue undertones. I really like it for the holiday season! Seems great so far :)
The nail stickers are ones to cover your whole nail, not so much my style. They're some light delicate print.
The nail polishes are all cremes, but Essence calls them "gel shine"- nail polishes, which means they're supposed to have a high gloss finish and a squishy formula. The colors, from orange-ish coral to plum work well with the rest of the LE, and they look good :) The one I bought is called 04 Berry Me Home, and it's a deep pinkish berry shade, very pretty. It has indeed a squishy formula and covers well with 2 coats.
Last but not least, the little bag. Normally I don't like Essence's accessory additions in LEs, but I love this one! It's a cute red and white pattern, knitted pouch, and I'll keep just the make-up basics in it in my purse :) It's also super soft :)
After all, I'm a big fan of this LE! I love the theme, the print, the products. Great for fall/winter, especially when it gets really cold. We had snow here a couple of days ago!
Did anyone of you already spot this, too?

NOTD October 30th: Essence Breaking Dawn Part 2 LE - 01 Jacob's Protection + Ghost Nail Art

Hey guys!
Today I want to show you the first polish of Essence's Breaking Dawn Part 2 LE, called 01 Jacob's Protection.
Jacob's Protection is a deep blackened blue with blue and silver shimmer particles. The shimmer makes it very interesting, it adds a lot of dimension.
Application was okay, it was a little too thick! The brush is also very thick, not so much the best combination, but you can definitely make it work.

I really like this shade, it's glowy and really pretty :)
And, since Halloween's almost here, I had do something with it. I ended up putting ghosties on top! They're like little marshmallow ghosts :D
I painted the ghosts on a sandwich bag and then stuck them onto my nails.
What do you think of them?

Review: Synergen Compact Powder, Shade 02 Beige

Hey there!
Today I'd like to review a powder I've been using for a couple of months now! Here you go:
Information:

  • Synergen Compact Powder
  • formulated for blemish-prone skin
  • comes in 3 different shades, mine is the medium 02 Beige
  • available at Rossmann
  • costs 1,95 Euros
  • contains 9 gr
  • comes with a sponge
Positives:
  • price
  • easy to apply with brushes (and sponge if needed)
  • gives a very soft and smooth feeling
  • pigmentation is okay
  • it mattifies well
  • it doesn't look cake-y
  • you can use it on its own or over foundation, concealer, etc
  • worked well for my skin
  • looks very natural
Negatives:
  • availability
  • the sponge isn't exactly useful for application
  • not a lot of coverage over redness
  • it didn't help against blemishes like it claimed, but I don't really need that anyway
  • the mattifying effect doesn't last all day
After all, I like this powder. The finish is great, and I'd repurchase it, as it's enough for what I need. I don't think that you'd love it, however, if you have very oily skin or lost of redness to cover up. Then I'd go for a more mattifying and covering powder.
What is your favorite powder?

NOTD October 27th: Spider Nail Art

Hi there!
Today I'd like to show you my next Halloween nail art, Spiders!
I went for a orange background, and created both the spider's web and the spiders themselves in black.
I know the spiders look a little weird as they don't have enough legs, but I thought they were cuter that way.
What do you think of them?

Spotted: Essence Breaking Dawn Part 2 LE

Hey guys!
Today at the drugstore I saw Essence's new LE for November, Breaking Dawn Part 2! They always do Twilight-themed LEs when a new movie of the series comes out, and this is the last one.
The LE contains 2 lipglosses, 1 highlighting powder, 1 blush, 2 eyeliners, 1 lipstick, 4 pigments and 4 nail polishes. All products can bee seen here *click*.
The lipglosses are red and dark purple, and both contains lots of glitter, too much for me.
The highlighting powder is very fine, shimmery and comes in a warm golden shade. I didn't get it, but I'm sure it'd be mice for people liking warm highlighters!
The blush is matte, and of a red color. I can't wait to try this one, it looks good without being too pigmented for overblushing. It's called 01 Renesmee Red.
The eyeliners are very glittery and didn't appear to be very opaque.
The lipstick is a golden glitter one, not so much my taste but nice for effects, I guess.
The pigments come in all shimmery, both dark and light shades. They looked really pretty, but I wouldn't use them anyway.
The nail polishes are all super stunning, 3 deep glitters and 1 gold. I got 2 of them, 01 Jacob's Protection, and 02 Alice Had A Vision - Again. They're both blackened shades with shimmer particles in them, really deep and stunning. Jacob's Protection is blue, Alice Had A Vision - Again purple. 3 coats are my swatches.
After all, I like this LE, the shades are perfect for both Twilight and the fall/winter months. Can't wait to try the stuff I got!
What do you want to get of it?

NOTD October 25th: Jack O'Lantern Nail Art

Hey guys!
I know I'm a little late for starting a Halloween series, but better late than never, right? So in the next couple of days I'd like to show you some Halloween nail art and stuff like that :) We still have a whole week till then!

As a start into the Halloween season I picked Jack O'Lanterns. I drew them onto a nude background and put scary faces on them. I'm actually happy with the way these turned out, even though the pumpkin shapes kinda look like apples :D
To give you an overview of what I've already done, here are last year's Halloween nail art designs:
Jack O'Lanterns
Spiders
Mummies
Frankensteins
Bats
Blood Splatter

I might be doing some of these again, but put a different spin on them :)
What are your costume plans for Halloween?

NOTD October 24th: Kiko - 237

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you a pretty Kiko polish, 237.
237 is a coral golden flakie shimmer polish. It's rather sheer and meant for layering, even though I'm wearing it on its own here.
The consistency of this polish is on the rather thick side, but it's still sheer. Mine could actually do with some polish thinner! I ended up using 4 coats, just to see how it would build up. It's gotten kinda opaque, but there's still some visible nail line.
I really like this polish, the flakie shimmer is super pretty :) I just think that the next time I'll wear it, I'm gonna layer it :)
What do you think of it?

Fall.

Hey guys!
I figured I might show you more inspirational stuff or just pictures, because I love looking at those kinds of things on blogs, and why shouldn't I post them here?
I hope you enjoy just seeing pictures from time to time, let me know what you think about it!
These pictures were taken this weekend which I spend with a good friend, we had lots of fun on a beautiful fall walk.
Do you love fall as much as I do?

NOTD October 22nd: Kiko - 254

Hey there!
Today I'd like to show you one of Kiko's nail polish in the shade 254.
254 is a berry pink with a gorgeous shimmer in it. The particles are almost like flakies, and they're super stunning in a purple shade.
Application was great, it has a nice consistency and was fully opaque at 2 coats.
I really like this berry shade, love the shimmer particles and I think it's a nice version of a fall pink :)
What do you think of it?

NOTD October 18th: Astor - 005 Hard Candy

Hey guys!
Today I'd like to show you one of Astor's current Fashion Studio polishes, called 005 Hard Candy. Astor changes their line of Fashion Studio polishes every couple of months.
Hard Candy is a deep grey-ish purple with silver and purple shimmer flecks in it. It's kinda dirty, with just slight warm undertones, a very dusty shade smokey shade.
Application was great, I had no problems and it was fully opaque at 2 coats :)
I'm a big fan of this color, it's perfect for fall! It totally reminds me of stormy rainy days :D
What do you think of it?

Book Review: A Bend In The Road by Nicholas Sparks

Hi guys!
Today I'd like to review another Nicholas Sparks book! I've been reading a lot of them lately, because I really enjoy this type of book :)
A Bend In The Road is about this guy named Miles, whose wife died in a car accident with hit-and-run driving. He also has a little son, and when he gets to know his teacher, a young woman who just recently moved to town, he finally starts to live again, little by little getting over the loss of his beloved wife. But he is still determined to find the person who killed his wife and caused that much pain. In the meantime, his love story with his son's teacher, Sarah, evolves, but there are some secrets waiting to be uncovered...
I really love how this book is not only concentrating on the new love of Miles, like it was just a plain love story. It deals with the love to his son, his dead wife, the sorrow he feels at her loss, and the hate towards the murderer. It is very emotional in that way.
There are always Miles or Sarah as the main acting character in the chapters, but there are always short parts written from the I-perspective of an unknown person. These are flashbacks and complete the whole story in a different way.
The book partly creates suspense, and it's also surprising sometimes. I really wanted to read on, find out all about it, and especially who the murderer is. It gets really interesting at that part!
After all, I'm a big fan of this book, and I like the fact that it has all of the good parts a Nicholas Sparks novel has, but it's not as dramatic as some other ones are.
Has anyone of you read it?
xoxo, Misch

NOTD October 16th: OPI - Suzi Says Feng Shui

Hey guys!
I've decided to get through my stash and swatch more polishes, so here you have one: OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui.
Suzi Says Feng Shui is a bight cobalt blue creme. It's a little dustier than a sky blue creme, but still nice and light.
Application was great, I used 2 normal coats for full opacity. It was a tiny bit runny but nothing you can't handle :)
Suzi Says Feng Shui was part of the Spring 2010 Hong Kong Collection by OPI, but it's still available online and I'm sure also at the store. I really like it :) And even though it might be part of a spring collection, this is also nice for fall or any other season in my opinion.
What do you think of it?
